  3. Cambelt due on my r33 2.5det. Now im just wondering is there a proper tool that lock the cams while timing belt is off or do i just use a universal one.I know the proper way is from the stater motor and lock it from there.Has anybody done it from the cams.Is there a proper tool made for the r33 and where can i get one?..thanks
  4. dude just replace no.6 plug sounds like u have intermitten open circuit at times.Cars come in all the time at work with same problem, wet plug means no spark under combustion pressure.weak spark
  5. TECHNICAL REASONS FOR INABILITY TO USE E10 The following are reasons why certain vehicle models cannot or should not use E10 because of material incompatibility and driveability issues respectively. There are also comments on possible exhaust and evaporative emissions issues. This list was compiled from information submitted by manufacturers. CANNOT USE BECAUSE OF MATERIAL INCOMPATIBILITY ISSUES Early deterioration of components in fuel injection system: Fuel tanks Fuel lines/hoses Injector seals Delivery pipes Fuel pump and regulator Vehicles with carburettor fuel systems may experience hot fuel handling concerns and may experience a lower level of durability in some fuel system components. Some manufacturers advise not to use E10 with any model equipped with a carburettor because of material incompatibility. SHOULD NOT USE BECAUSE OF DRIVEABILITY ISSUES Vapour pressure of fuel with ethanol will be greater (if not chemically adjusted) and probability of vapour lock or hot restartability problems will be increased. Oxygen content of ethanol is 34.7%. This can cause the engine to run lean although the Engine Control Unit (ECU) can generally compensate via feedback from the O2 sensor under light throttle conditions. However, hesitation or flat-spots during acceleration can occur due to this lean-out effect. Difficulty in starting and engine hesitation after cold start. EXHAUST AND EVAPORATIVE EMISSION LEVELS Lean-out resulting from the oxygenating effect of ethanol in the fuel may affect exhaust emissions. Fuel containing ethanol can increase permeation emissions from fuel system components. Vapour pressure of fuel with ethanol will be greater (if not chemically adjusted at the refining stage) and can lead to increased evaporative emissions.
  6. Ferrari Ferrari does not recommend the use of ethanol blend petrol. E10 may be used in emergency situations. Hmmmm ferrari know somthing and for nissan Nissan vehicles manufactured from 1 January 2004 onwards are capable of operation on ethanol-blended fuels up to E10 (10% ethanol), providing that blending of the ethanol component to the petroleum component of the fuel has been properly made at the fuel refinery (ie there is no "splash-blending" of the fuel). For Nissan vehicles manufactured prior to 1 January 2004, Nissan Australia does not recommend the use of E10 because of drivability concerns and/or material compatibility issues. found at http://www.fcai.com.au/ethanol.php/2004/11/00000001.html
  7. Since i bought my r33 climate control lights dont go on when parker lights are on,display is fine, just wondering can u replace these globes or is there no globes at all.
  8. Just wanted to know what turbo is on a standard R33-- Name and model number ??
  9. mate.i had a similar problem, sounds to me that you have a fuel block, first i would look at your fuel reg pressure, cause of this means if it is blocked or not functioning properly means no fuel is returning back to tank.at this stage fuel pressure is building up in your fuel rail sending too much fuel thru your injectors which floods the spark plugs causing miss.I suggest checking fuel pressure at in take and return. Its happened to me,also happens after 20mins of driving with same symptoms. In my case it was the fuel reg.hope this helps.
  10. Im looking for R33 series1 headlights and must be in good condition with no scratches and not faded as mine are already...thanks
  11. Mr fanny i think your right, cos on my compliance sheet it says that the did somework on rear taillights.they changed inner tailight sockets to single filiment, and you cant just put in a double filiment globe cos it wont work,u need to change the inner tailight socket to double filiment.Any jap spare parts should have em.dont try autobahn or repco as ive been there with no luck..
  12. Handbrake switch may have an open circuit or give it a clean with electrical cleaner or handbrake switch spring has colapsed..
  13. inner taillights were single globe sockets when i first got my car from japan and fitted twin filiments sockets and changed around some wires, and now all four taillights work when parkers are on and when i brake they go brighter..r33 series1 may pay too have a look to see if urs are the same....
  14. how did it go after cleaning it.????
  15. is the cooler in front of the radiator, maybe that not enough air is gettting to radiator???
  16. hey immortal, you can get em at ebay.there are heaps on there.you can also get range of colors.
  17. is it manual, and does the tacho and speedo working properly????
  18. you need to pressure test coolant system to rule out coolant leak in too engine block, and take out spark plugs to see if any are super clean from coolant leaking in to cylinder.good way to check...also check for condensation from exhaust which never goes away.
  19. i know you said car runs well, but does coolant temp look normal. And if it is head gasket, oil under raidiator cap should be more like a creamy colour. correct me if im wrong.
  20. how much for a pair of new headlight.does anyone know?
