dont u burn the clutch if u do it at the same time ?

k thnx guys. another question- when taking off from 1st gear(stand still), do u give it some revs, find the friction point, give it abit more gas and slowly take ya foot off the clutch ?

How do u guys approach your manuals ? more specifically, how do u engage/dis-engage your clutch ? friends who are giving me lessons are telling me different stuff. one goes, u should lift your whole foot off the clutch when u're engaging(coming off the clutch) and the other goes, u should have your heel fixed to the floor and lift only your toe (coming off the clutch). how do u guys drive your skylines ? whats the best method to find the friction point ? and, do u always find the friction point first before taking off ?

u wont be able to spank V8s. 0-100km time is around the 6-7sec mark. the cockpit requires gettting use to, u sit low in the car(not good for short ppl) and they're biiig.

if money is an issue, please do not get one. these cars need alot of TLC. not your average daily driver. but if u're serious, then somewhere around the 25grand mark sounds good(locally). if you're importing expect to pay atleast 20grand for a good one and by the looks of things, i dont think u'll be able to import a clean example anymore due to the fact most/all of the immaculate GTR32 were snatched up by enthusiasts 2yrs ago.

umm get a R33 and modify it. best bang for bux. or like someone else said, buy a 180 and do it up.

yeh insurance rates are dropping nowz. its not like before. glad this happened coz i can now buy something hawt without having to worry about rediculous premiums.

ummm i dont think the seller can at this stage. he needs my bros money to clear his debt(30grand). basically, what revs told my bro to do is purchase a search certificate the day before(24hours), pay off the bank(ask for a letter of discharge after payment) and give the remaining balance to the seller. the seller is using Commonwealth bank to finance his car. soo can my bro drop into any commonwealth bank and pay off the finance ? the REVS chick said yes, but my bro wants to make sure. cheers

so this is what my bro should do prior to purchase: - get a Revs check - ask RTA about mismatched, stolen check etc - get it AUVIS - if everything is ok, purchase Rev search cert after everything is ok: - pay off financial debt - pay owner - transfer name of car at RTA - receipt stolen checks are done by RTA eh ? or does my bro need to drop by the police station ? and how much are AUVIS checks ?

hrmm, okay, thnx for that. its a 2001 R34 btw. i heard AUVIS can do a vehicle check ? where are they located ? and how much ? another thing, how accurate are stolen checks ? what would happen if someone stole the car whilst the owner was on holidays and didnt know about it ? wouldnt i be screwed over when the owner returns to find his skyline not sitting at home ?

Hey, my bro is about to purchase a skyline. So far he is happy with everything and wants to purchase it. But, when he did a REVS check on the car, it said "THERE ARE FINANCIAL INTERESTS RECORDED AGAINST THE SUPPLIED VEHICLE IDENTIFIERS VEHICLE DETAILS MISMATCH WITH RTA.PLEASE CHECK IDENTIFIERS AND/OR CONSIDER AUVIS INSPECTION TO ENSURE VEHICLE IDENTIFIERS ARE CORRECT. MISMATCHED IDENTIFIERS:- - ENGINE NUMBER - REGISTRATION NUMBER - VIN/CHASSIS NUMBER what should he do ? should he buy it or walk away from it ? hes gonna go have another look to make sure the details match up. should he be worried ? and why would the details mismatch ? the owner brought the car from the dealers. any help would be good.

haha yeh, partner . unfortunately, my gf is still at uni finishing off her degree(shes 2yrs younger than me). being 23, i guess im still young and "just" entered the "real world". plently of payrises in the future . what you said about everything 50/50 is true. i have the deposit for the house, but i currently do not have the funds for the repayments, lol. guess i'll wait for my gf to graduate and see how things go from there.

how the hell do some of u guys manage a house and car loan being only 22yo ? do u earn like 60grand+ a yr or something ? not being rude or anything, i've just finished uni(23yo) and earn around 36grand a yr. with the amount im bring home, i've only got enough to cover rent, car loan, food etc.

most owners on sau are either full time workers or living at home. with that said, any1 know the chick who drives the blue 350z convertible on green P's ?(in Sydney).

lol thnx guys. its probably just pressure, im sure of it. i reckon auto has messed up my controls. coz usually i'd take my foot off the brakes and accel(auto). i've been doing the exact same thing in a manual car. i know i should find the friction point first then accelerate, but instead, i go for the accelerator first then lift my foot off the clutch. yeh, the friction point is abit hard, and i always miss it by like an inch . other than that, i have no problems changing gears whilst the car is moving. but i do bunny hop through roundabouts, lol.

how do u master hill starts and prevent the car from rolling bakwards ? i had 2 lessons and i find it hard coz i keep stalling it.
