I wouldnt have the other end free block it or remove black hose and block that at Pipe where it meets the inlet pipe
-
Nos is for shortshifting non high rpm also ..eg 7k becomes 6k as far as ive seen
-
what ever u do dont block it up but in older motors u can run a hose(the hose that goes to your intake)(just make it longer?) to a coke can inside ur engine bay as a temp as it will prob get some oil in it and a catch can should go straight on maybe with over the counter fittings and keep ur intake as is...but like i said im new to theses motors but not horsepower :sorcerer: so wait mate for someone whos done it to post!
-
i dont know mate as mine is fairly stock but that sounds good and ideal, wait for nizmoid or someone with proven knowledge to post ere mate
-
yeah !wont hurt I want someone elses view on this as the motor has a pvc valve near the left of that (near intake manifold/fuel reg)so maybe that enough? so maybe u can run without?its just a question on how quick you oil get dirty as less air mean dirty quicker Ive only had my car for 2 years but im a good old school motorsporter you should try without?but then u may need oil catch can because oil may splash out those holes on the top of the motor?( i mean a little oil no heaps)but enough to be anoying. i need more skyline expierence here guys so dont drill yet mate

yes that pipe might be ok for someone who does under 5000kms a year and changes oil ever 3 months.like a show car. but personally id like a pipe for my crank vent( as air makes ur oil stay clean longer)

Is Bov Vent Better Than Plumback?post Views-poll-
cosworth1971 replied to cosworth1971's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
anyone else have this view? before i melt my turbo -
why wud u blank the bov off for?bov makes it boost faster! and to run without the crankcase ventalation there wud be stupid and fatal that intake is for someone who changes oil every 1000 kms do you want that and more wear? u need that pipe to make u engine last a long time!eg 100000kms vs 300000 yes u can run without it and leave it open but thats very bodgie i think! with my rally car and webbers i run without but thats a full race car
-
u run no BOV?.and fresh air in crank will make oil last 4 times as long that all i know.only drag racers or d1 guys would not run crankcase vent (and some tests have proven it less stress on cranks turning)(and blowbye on rings)and with no crankcase vent u will deff need to change oil every 2000kms or less and your car look daily driven so i would vent crankcase IMO
-
To me plumback just feels smoother, but on vent I like the spool but not the wishhttt!so much but i do like the backfires and im sure it cant be bad to be rich for a second?and no theres no cat I mean why did they make vent?is it faster boost for drift?my car feels harder on vent but softer and smother on plumback. post your views on what u like about what u have, being it vent or not?it will be interesting to hear your views and start some gossip I have a GHB that does both thats all. Poll your answers please

why is the original black hose still on the std solanoid?u can remove that! and whats on the other endlet of the std solanoid?nothing or blocked up?

New Tune More Hp But Engine Light Coming On
cosworth1971 replied to mikel's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
235 rwkw is max for STD motor parts i have seen. in fuel, computer wize -
your both right u need a CDI(capacitor distarge ignition) box like a HI6 or MSD but u then need a distributor to send it to plugs and coil like a SUPERCOIL 60k volts<but standard is like that volts the only thing better is a MAGNETO like a top fueler I have a HI6 on my rally car and did think of a magneto for 1800$ but its full on not for street stuff!!

To Shim Or Not To Shit
cosworth1971 replied to DjeMz's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
people wont tell you but a locked diff will give u bad understeer so much so u wont have the adjustment of castor in the front end to fix it.locked if u want to drive sideways 90% of the time otherwize ur just making huge wear on axles, tyres and drive line.I use a locker in my rally car but thats a rally car -
Timing Light Query And Marks On Pulley
cosworth1971 replied to cosworth1971's topic in General Maintenance
Bumpity!!!! does no one here do there own timing? i see || || || || || ^5 ^10^15^25^30 two marks on every point like a shaddow !is that normal?like a faint double reading no matter how i hook light too or up -
I may be imagining but i took my heatshield off again to test my actuator and snapped a bolt taking the heatshield off,....so i left the shield of went for a drive and it seems to be boosting less? . 10 psi instead of 12-13 Maybe its all a big coincidence(<spelling) but ive heard people put washers or cut heatshield ?is that true? Is it safe to run without shield for a little bit?but wires and looms get quiet hot Im now running a unrestricted hose straight to actuator!, bleed valve i will throw out i think lol I cant imagine the actuator hitting it because the actuator diaphram only moves 15 mm or so. Im also happy with direct actuator hookup because it boost more gradual and fixed spiking alot anyone had simular experiences?

airleaking then ?whats ur friends say on aftermarket? cause thats quiet a differance? -
Im Curious Whats Your Vacume?on Idle
cosworth1971 replied to cosworth1971's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
but u earlier posted and said ur aftermarket said -10(in-hg)psi (whateva) and tha factory boost guage is just there to look pretty IMO and wont give u a good reading -
when u check or do your timing do u always see a faint double reading?because i always have i just split the differance.... or does that mean my cas is erratic?
-
the actuator pipe(hose) is best @ short as possible for more response i have read??? so did you run hoses to the inside?
-
thats advancing the timing you really need a timing light but for me id lower the plug gap.ive just been thru a whole year of that !and at first needed like 27 deg + timing but recently put some copper plugs in @.5( imay have got away with .6) but the iriduims at .66 were still spitting since the .5 ive been able to bring the timing back to 15 deg without spitting and happy im no longer in pinging a motor to death anymore. if you had slitfires id say .8 but std coils maybe .6. I new to turbs tho but not horsepower
-
I dont think they are legal at all because they can vent engine emissions directly to the air

Im Curious Whats Your Vacume?on Idle
cosworth1971 replied to cosworth1971's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I wonder if its still = to a PSI because its on the same scale.18 to 20 seems good but to those who get 10 psi ,i would question there reading? -
shold be a number on the top like .30 should give u a clue as im sure people dont use factory replacment pistons becaause of cost?
