  1. Been struggling with this issue for years,Its been going on too long an i need my car fixed, I dont have alot of money for dyno but will be taking it to one soon. Car history: Got it directly from japan ,stock as a rock series 2 with 60,000kms, Engine ran great and it was super fast. I put a Blitz Intercooler and Full 3" free exhaust and big dump pipe, turbosmart bov valve(both atmos and re plumb adustable) these mods gave me 12 psi on its own without even touching boost controllers(i dont have one)on my crappy guage and i cannot make the boost lower as actuator is directly plumbed into intercooler intake pipe. I have disconnected the standard boost solaniod as ive been tring to get boost lower. I wish i could make less boost! Then the problems started, the car could not take anything more than 2/3 throttle on boost or it would break down,lag and start pig rooting with power on /power off. I then had a dyno look at the car, we replaced fuel pump with walbro and it was much better but problem was stiff there just less.(he claimed the car was seeing only 9 psi and car ran [email protected] I then started playing around with timing, more advance gave less symptoms which confussed me more. Ive played around with the actuator ,making sure its free but maybe the actuator spring setting is too high?maybe i should get a r32 10 psi actuator? Ive plaed with coil packs, epoxied them and taped them up, ive lower plug gap to .6 as that and timimg was helping. Am i hitting boost cut? the power on and off is fairly violent and only happens on load at more than 2/3 throttle. If i back off the car picks up again. I have a fuel cut defender but have not installed. Someone else said my exhaust is too free and i need a 2 1/4 restrictor plate in the exhaust to lower the boost? how can i lower my boost? Im still learning with computer forced induction and i will be saving for a new ecu, i just need my car to be running ok till then even if its less boost. I am willing to pay someone with experience in adelaide to look at my car, need it fixed.
  2. misfire under load with 2 sets of iridiums even @ .6 gap,went to copper plugs and wow no misfire and the iriduims always looked black and sootie,but the ngk coppers looked light and like they where burning well.

  4. just done my new clutch by myself with two trolley jacks and some wood lol (it was a heavy box) took a day tho but now i should bleed my clutch question is should i bleed from slave?or master?or both in order? used to be longest line bleed first? hehe i will be bleeding by myself as usual too (with my magyver tricks)
  5. wanting to buy a 1996 R33 Gtst waterpump. any cheap ones online?RB30 is the same yeah?one nissan site said $130 but it also said suit all RB motors <if so i can get one RB30 from autopro here for 60-70$?
  6. Ok new clutch i should bleed the clutch too. I think it has three nipples(bleed points) ,I know one is at the slave...so should you bleed the slave first then the master?or other way round? my manual does not cover drive line edit:I think its the longest brake line you bleed first right?

  8. that would be 37 crownwheel teeth and 9 pinion which = 4.111111111111111111111111111 manual trans 33 are 4.11 autos are 3.9
  9. Im doing my clutch right now,and i just got box out. but now i need the pressure plate torque figure for a 96" GTST please p.s im using a organic HD extreme clutch

  11. yes there is the intake temp hose behind the dash just to the right of the air con panel,if that falls off or if you have pulled the dash out it blows just hot air
  12. i thought the air bags is linked to the seat belt somehow ?? i know its a stupid thought :laughing-smiley-014: but its my first dual airbag car
  13. my cheap shortshifter ($200)is fine ,did u replace the nylon bush at the bottom?
  14. If i remove seat and unplug the air bag sensor will the airbag go off? I guess one could unplug the battery first but has anyone done this on a twin airbag model eg.96 gtst the last thing i want is my airbag going off regards brett
  15. air in line mate,mine is the same ...then when you drive it a bit(pump the pedal )the pedal gets it travel back bleed those lines
  16. count the number of crownwheel teeth then divide it by the number of pinion teeth
  17. I have 235`s on my 9.5 inch back rims ,they are peelin off sick looking combo and cant go any wider without lipin it
  18. Rebuild a 2xBorg warner type diffs,either upgrading to cone type L.S.D or Mini spool. It is not for my skyline but for my ford but i understand there the same thing. mini spools are 120$ and a new L.s.d is 650$ supplied so im still deciding witch one and how hard it could be to change pinions and crowns gears and install this one diff is 25 spline and the other is 28. would the new cone lsd last long?ive heard the cones stop working sometimes
  19. I went genuine nissan 130$ but it went in so easy(the ball joint) ,and i did it carefully(measuring) so i didnt have to re-align the front end
  20. Is there anywhere that sell front tie rods to suit a 96 r33 gtst? nissan want $130 for genuine .quiet expensive for a 100000km part
  21. meh... all i know it works but it also works on 30 deg and feel zippy without hearing pinging? Im reading about waste spark ignitions right now that do that double reading.but as yet i cant prove a skyline is a waste spark ignition car? Question: My brother is doing a car mechanics course and needs to find out what a Waste Spark is. Answer: A waste spark is the spark that occurs 360° from the “normal” spark that fires the fuel mixture. Remember the “normal” spark occurs every 720° (2 turns of the crank shaft).
  22. but i have had it at 30 and 40 and it runs ok? really in all the fiddling i have lost the original setting having moved the cas to all sort of positions maybe it should be 30 and ive made it go to 15?
  23. what part did i mis understand? that guy said 40 deg is really 20 and you agreed?hence 15 becomes 7?8 deg? I use the white loop(looped once) at 15 deg??
