  1. ????? its quite clear Dan now has this turbo installed, and seems to be happy with it
  2. an exhaust is an exhaust matey. 3inch Nur or Apex or HKS or local exhaust shop - who cares? why waste money on a 'brand name' exhaust? google it (or ebay), shop around etc. I suggest to grab a 3inch full dump pipe in stainless steel (turbo to cat converter - $220 from JustJap off ebay, excellent quality I assure you, Im using one), a big bodied cat-converter from Batmbl here on the forums (3inch miminum, for you and noise requirements maybe a 5inch?), again in stainless steel. Then go to a exhaust shop and have a 3inch system, either stainless steel or cheaper option aluminium coated mild steel (what Ive got), made up and mandrel bent to fit. Dont get a resonator just the end muffler to suit your look (ie either canon or normal large-bodied muffler). If you go say just a canon muffler Id bet itd be pretty loud and have a nice note. That way youve got a full stainless steel exhaust from turbo back, for the same price as a brand name cat-back system. Just my opnion, but better value for money, more power, and all up a good full 3inch exhaust system that wont rust.
  3. Cheers for the advice. Thats a good idea about rebolting to the seat itself. Extra IQ points to you MrAnderson! If not thru Willshere who else? ta for your thoughts............. With legality, more worried about an accident where the seat 'possibly' goes thru the front window (lol). Questions would then be asked - how was the seat bolted in? Id reply (from my grave) "I used Mechano/lego nuts and bolts" Yeah, more worried about insurance implications in case of an accident, couldnt care less about defect etc. I reckon itd almost be impossible to be defected for my seat if it was extended backwards as such.
  4. Alternatively, what are the dangers of taking out my seat rail, and redrilling holes further backwards, and bolting the seat back into these new holes, so it sits further back? Is that legal? Again, where can I get this done? I cant kneel anymore so therefore I cant do it myself.
  5. more power at idle??? excuse my ignorance - but how is this possible? how can power be measured at idle??? Brendan
  6. LOL sk! Anyway - I have a LOUD K&N pod filter. I hate it, its too loud. Anyway I have a custom heatshield, it fits R33. If you want it offer me $50plus $10 postage Reason for sale - I now have a proper CAI box, from Maxx. I also have a standard R33 airbox (no snorkel) with brand new B&N panel filter for $100 plus post if anyone is intrested. Brendan
  7. I dont, where can you get them from ?? LOL
  8. For sure - maybe, well, if I can get over my jealousy!
  9. No in all seriousness its pretty cheap; I guess just have a few dollars set aside "just in case". Thats all. Hell - a 25k Stagea with GTR engine and gearbox sounds pretty good to me ! When I bought mine for 18k I had 5k set aside for repairs if needed, and once I knew it wasnt needed the mods began! LOL
  10. True - all the best with it. So what if it costs a grand here and there to fix up a couple of minor issues, a bargain either way you look at it. Considering that 12months ago S2 were minimum 19k private or 26k car yard.
  11. the price seems too cheap to me for a S2 so, whats wrong with it?????
  12. I talked to my brother about that one......... well done Q: does it come with log books etc, or have those kms been wound back a bit (hence the price)
  13. BUMP hell, surely someone out there wants some nice lowered springs for their R33 GTR??????????????? ????????????????????
  14. Does anyone know for sure?? She may have had a cut artery and was internally bleeding - you just never know. While it may have been a bung knee it could have also been a leaking aorta or similar. My G'pa had a leaking aorta into his stomach, happened over a course of a month, when it was found he had to have urgent lifesaving surgery etc, twice in the 1 day, almost died, only 25% of patients survive apparently (25% die before being diagnosed, 25% die in surgery, and 25% die in recovery) he ended up having his leg cut off as it went gangrenous (no blood flow etc).
  15. OK, After having my 9th knee surgery I figure I gotta look after my legs a bit better, being 6ft8 and driving a Stagea is quite cramped for leg room, comfort etc. I need the drivers seat rails extended in length so that I can drive it with the seat extended right back to the rear seats, and my wife can drive it with the seat at the closet position to the controls. I also figure it should have an engineers certificate in case of a accident & insurance claim. Wouldnt mind a nice comfy Recaro but I can add that later. Where should I be going to have this done? Im thinking Willshere Motor Trimmers but does anyone have any suggestions? Brendan
  16. Hi mate, good luck. I had mine installed by the mechanics/tuners along with a lot of other gear at the same time, so I cant help much. Two suggestions: a) I had them direct wire it to the battery feed, so it runs at ~13.8v and not 12v. b) I also made directions that the 040 pump MUST be installed as low in the tank as possible. That way I have no fuel issues, I can go down to near empty and be all ok.
  17. I prefer R34GTR to match the front end. But thats imo only.
  18. I was worried the missus would be fuming about driving the Stagea; she loved the grunty of our VR SS sedan and was pissed-off bigtime when I went up to Qld for the day to buy the Stag. But we needed a wagon and I convinced her that a R33 Skyline-derived wagon was what was meant to be. But she's a fan for sure, it aint too big at all. Wife is only 5ft2~ish but keep in mind the Stagea is no bigger then a VS Falcodore wagon. Liking it so much she doesnt mind the odd mods Ive been adding here and there, and you gotta appreciate that! I just keep telling her to 'use the car' when shes driving me, ie tromp it.
  19. None at all mate, and I cant wait to be on the next cruise for sure! Thanks for your kind wishes. God damn having 2 knee surgeies at 1 time is stupid!!! I just thought Id say in a round-about way in my post (lol) that I think itd be hard for someone who wasnt there to say anything else but feel relieved that they didnt have to see such a tragic accident. Thats all, Im sure everyone wants to be driving their sweet-as car meeting like minded people. In this instance it ended in tradgedy. We all grieve for those involved, and our thoughs are with those in need. On some of my hills sportsbke rides Ive witnessed some terrible accidents, horrific in fact, and you wouldnt wish that vision on anyone. I can fully understand that most people who were there on the day will take a long time to get past the visions in their head. Best way imo is to talk about it, and be open with your feelings. To the young lady getting over 2 accidents in succession, my heart goes out to you. Be bright, there is always someone worse off than you, although that thought doesnt help much but it does help put life into perspective. Just love your family and friends and enjoy their love in return. Thats what life is about. Enjoy it. Awesome to hear about Drews recovery. Fantastic news, well done, keep your spirits high! I hope the other elder lady involved is going to be ok.
  20. For '3 items' Id do it wisely and look for some second hand near-new items (go ebay!) and get some new items at discount prices (forums are good for this). So itd have to be 3 different areas of performance for me to justify my cash (my car is auto 4wd Stagea): a) Exhaust/airflow = full exhaust ($1000), intercooler ($750), CAI box with pod filter ($250) b) Suspension setup = most of Sydneykids suspn group buy kit ($1800) b) ECU's = Apexi SAFC, Apexi SITC, Electronic Boost Controller, all dynotuned ($1200) Around 5k. Ive already done all this and more for a total of 7k, lots of mods. =0 Next one for me is the turbo to make it all 'work together'! My budget is around 12k of mods on top of my 18k car, over a couple of yrs. If you do it wisely the money can go very far indeed.
  21. Cheers, actually... silly me, I meant 2nd from right. There is that dark pair, nice. But all 4 sets look more comfy then standard, and can be 'used' to when 'using' the car! http://image-cache.skylinesaustralia.com/f...-1147997185.jpg
  22. Cheers for that info...... awesome There's a local place that sells these seats, & does certified engineering works to seat rails as well. I'll definately have to talk to them anyways. Headheight and leg room is an issue for my tall self and my shorter wife LOL so we gotta get it right! Id like it so that my drivers seat (Recaro or standard) rail is extended right back to the rear bench seat but yet maintains closeness to steering wheel. With head room, are Recaro's adjustable, ie seat height adjustment like standard seats? So, buy a skyline R33 series 2 drivers seat rail, and a comfy chair to suit. Have seat rail extended backwards and fitted, legaly complied. Or buy comfy seat AND seat mounts from Recaro to suit, and alter my standard seat rail.........
  23. I really like the 3rd pair in from left. Id never ONCE even given seats a thought until I saw this thread, saw them, relooked, looked again, and again, and again. Now, I gotta say, I want those seats in my S1 Stagea. They look damn comfy. They look nice. Im now thinking eventually Im going to have to get one nice seat in for me. I was going to spend some $$ and get my standard seat rails extended and legally certified, but now Im not sure....... how do these types of chairs fit into the Stageas?? sorry a noob question but Ive never been into interiors before. I need more room for my legs and bad knees, I want comfort as well. So how does a nice Recaro get bolted into a Stagea with chair-travel space from rear seat forward (so the wife can still drive it, shes small Im tall) Brendan
  24. nice mag - get 235/40/18 or 45 for sure. ummm, Id suggest the Hankook K104 Ventus, very nice tyre around $200ea
  25. On a personal level I did mention previously that my family stated to me that they were glad Id had the knee surgery and couldnt go on the cruise. I think thats a natural feeling for my close ones to have. The "what if" feeling................ Altough I reckon they're sick for wishing that theyd prefer me having knee surgery then going on a cruise! I know what Id rather be doing Also, IMO it would be abhorently rude for someone who didnt go on the cruise to say that "they wished they were there". In this situation thats the wrong thing to say. So while I would have liked to be cruising in my nice Stagea I certainly would never say that I wish I was there. I can say is that I absolutely Detest the fact that Ive had 9 knee surgeries now.... I had them previously booked-in to be hacked up a couple of days prior to the cruise. Id much rather be having a life and being with fellow RBdet enthusiasts on a cruise then recovering from more butchery. I do regret however that I wasnt there to offer support at the time of need, but I guess we each have a different fate. Best wishes to all who were there on the day, Brendan
