What Is The "ficd" Relay For?
Tangles replied to CruiseLiner's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Well at the time we translated that (we being SAU Stagea royal-we) I passed on the transalated and original versions to my mate, and he made a few subtle corrections but said thats about right. He was at work at the time so I guess he only put a couple of minutes into it, but then again thats all hed need. Now, I trust him as he knows his japanese very well indeed, and sure you can bill me but Id pass the bill onto him, and as of last Thursday he's currently in Thailand at the moment (had the monthly full moon party on Saturday so hes probably fked up right now still) but anyways hed pay the bill when he gets back to Australia around about this time next year. lol Plus he's on 30day terms from end of month, so youd be looking at getting the money back around July next year. Hope that helps. Note: remeber that your car is a bit of an odity tho, being a 2.7ltr and all that -

My mate translated that........ I trust him 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000% Hes more fluent in Japanese than a Japanese hooker I have the updated version which my mate did, see attached: -
3 weeks, nice. Button query; to lock 4wd 50:50 F/R on, or when off normal ecu controlled (what 20:80 F/R maybe?) I reckon its handy to have on, with snow mode on, on a cold wet slippery dark winters night, at the traffic-lights GP.

LOL she'll be right!! yeah, in no way shape or form am I trying to scare you, just looking out for you my dear friend! thats what it is all about, passing on info to fellow Stagea owners. can you get 235's in 18's or 19's (can in 17's thats for sure)? But I agree with you, 245's would look awesome at the rear on the Stagea. Nice. on topic : NICE RIMS Cy!
-
yeah I hear ya..... Im running 17s R34 GTT rims, 235's all round. Im sure its the 4wd system that gets screwed over time - if ya start having 4wd issues (such as light coming on, or error codes etc) you know what it is!! lol Not trying to scare ya or anything like that, just passing on info. for example, madaz here in SA had a space saver rim on up front for a little while, cost him 4grand+ in repairs at the end of the day to his R32 GTS-4.

Im not sure thats wise....... being 4wd you should have same size tyres all round on the 4 wheels. Thats from info Ive read around these pages Nice wheels Ska

Supersize Me. Cost To Upsize To A Large?
Tangles replied to qikstagea's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
going on from this, can a RB26DETT mate up to the standard auto, somehow???? dont mean to hijack the thread, just interested in that info, thats all! (too tall for manual Stageas)! -
For sure, dont have the cash but, as per the saying I got from you - MEH I dont think the debt-collectors will be knocking on my door in a hurry, threatening to beat me sensless; the last lot ended up in our buildings foundations (shhh) Terminal has one, and if he says it fits then thats the Gospel for me. Cheers!

I bought Maxx's CAI box (that fits both R33 and r34 - its one and the same from what I understand). It'll have openings for the air snorkel and standard intercooler piping. Going to paint it black in high-temp paint to give the engine bay a stock look. With me not driving for a while (knees) I'll take my time fitting it along with more 4ply thermalflex silicon fmic join sections that I need to finalize around the wheel arches, and maybe throw in a dry-type air filter such as an Apexi one, dunno about that tho. Plus I'll add an air-feed from underneath the car - should be good. I'll let you all know how it goes. Just getting things ready for a larger turbo/injectors combo at the end of the year (hopefully). So I'll be selling a standard R33 airbox with hi-performance BMC filter (new), and custom R33 heatshield maybe with my K&N wet-type airfilter - all in good time. Cheers All - Brendan

Tangles replied to Tangles's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
GTR front and rear shocks - $100 Stagea front and rear shocks (GTR front & GTST rear) - free with the above shocks GTR front and rear lowered springs - $100 postage would be fairly cheap -
Anyone Have A Rb25 Highflow From "sliding Performance"?
Tangles replied to joe2548's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Its just so hard to decide!!! Spend 1k or 2k?? ie plain bearing or ball bearing. I still think of Cost of Ownership, so if you're saying Gary that there is extra maintnenace involved in the life of using a plain bearing turbo (such as oil changes every 2500kms instead of 5000kms etc) then this obviously adds to that cost, over time. Its all so hard when you're on a budget!!! On a side note, what sort of 'safe' psi can a standard 'unopened' Rb25det engine take with a nice highflowing turbo? More than 1bar? -
Im going to use Maxx's box for the R33 & R34 on my series1 Stagea. They look very nice indeed. Paint it black and it'll look stock. Almost. Thing is its heavy duty aluminium, if you're worried about heatsoak then whack foam (or some form of heat insulation) all around it.

'cruise' isnt the right word! LOL as far as Im concerned it aint about the 'mixed personalities' on any of these rides, its soley just about the ride itself. If you meet good people you have an 'affinity' with then good luck to ya! Now that I havent got the rich&retard problems I encountered last Nov after my home dodgy-brothers FMIC install, and have new 17s and new SydneyKid suspension setup, would love to give it a fang. So, me's thinking this saturday night I might be running down Bull Creek rd and back, just to give it a little stick (safely; Ive been up&back say 800 times on that road?) prior to being outa the car for weeks&weeks&weeks&weeks&weeks Anyone down south do the Bull Creek rd????

Cheers Aaron, sounds the goods! I only expect to put around 80000kms onto my Stagea over the next decade, so this sounds pretty good. I mean, 24000kms would be exactly 3yrs of driving for me, 44000 would be 5.5yrs, so if the turbo was in still good nick after 5-6yrs then cost of ownership is very good indeed. Will keep this setup (ie the turbo Satanic got) in mind for when I make a hiflow turbo decision later this year. My Stagea is simply a street car, got 160awkw @ 12psi atm and that is great fun, would you assume that at 1bar an extra 40+awkw could be made (see attachment for current mods) with this turbo? sorry, this is the one for the RB25, direct fit as far as I can tell. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/GT30R-500hp-BB-GARR...8QQcmdZViewItem why dont you see Bill at ATS (Adelaide Turbo Service) on marion Rd near Sturt Rd??? get some opinions / prices from him, he does hiflows etc rated to 500hp

R33, R34 CAI box & radiator panel
Tangles replied to Maxx's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Maxx Im going to buy one from you for my Series 1 Stagea. I understand another Stagea owner with a Series 1 is currently using your CAI Box for a R34 Skyline, and apparently it fits all ok. My query is: are the snorkel openings for a R34 and R33 on your CAI box the same?? ie, I have a R33 snorkel but would want to use your R34 CAI box..... is this possible?? Cheers, brendan -

So you are saying for sure that Maxx's R33 AND R34 cai box fit into your S1 Stagea with no fitting problems? Cheers............. which one are you using? Regards, brendan

OK. Who here has a completely closed ColdAirInduction airbox to fit pod filters? Obviously to suit Stageas, Series 1 and/or 2. Im keen to get one on my S1 Stagea prior to going for the bigger turbo & injectors and the retune, so Ive got my feelers out at the moment. I like Maxx's CAI box, probably could alter it somehow (Im not good with my hands tho). Id end up using the normal snorkel air feed plus a feed of air from underneath. Just that I dont want to waste near $200 if it doesnt fit, and pay out someone another $100 to alter it to fit. Terminal, Ice12, did you fellas end up getting one and trying it out for size? If so how did it go? Has anyone seen a CAI fully closed box to suit a pod filter for the Stageas? AMS, have you seen anything as yet via MonkeyWarehouse? Cheers all, Brendan

I generally play Internode, but going to use Gamespace more often now. Internode admin are w*nkers. Full stop. Got a 1st ban for a period of a month for my plane missle hitting the carrier on Wake, by accident. Got my 2nd ban for leaving a car on the end of the Wake runway (had to rush off to help my crying kiddie), was totally out of the way of the plane, etc, harming no-one. Just stupid innocent stuff like that and you get banned, whereas you can teamkill to get the chopper, or spawn camp, without worries from the admin. I gotta say Im one of the fairest players out there, playing a Team game, but Internode dont see it that way.

MadGt4, Im not a sniper fan, in fact I shy away from being a sniper, I find that sort of gameplay boring, I need to be in the thick of the action with my knife LOL But I must admit Ive grabbed dead ppl's 3rd sniper gun before and it feels very light as such. Anyone got the 3rd Engineer gun? Would like to try that, but noone uses engineer! Im keen for a battle on the 21st, so count me in for sure. cheers. [GOON] MajorTangles

Im a bitsnpieces 'ebay' sort of bloke: * Just Jap stainless steel 3inch dump pipe from turbo to cat * BosImporting 3inch mild steel cat converter from Batmbl here on SAU * no-name 3inch mild steel cat-back R33 system with cut & weld to make it around 4inches longer, no resonator, 1 muffler rather big at back of car next to the weld, nice and quiet, but yet freeflowing (would be very free flowing, but loud I fear, with a canon muffler of some type) who needs brand names????
