  1. It is electric, but has 2 dials and a button to change between settings, and as such is a 2stage boost unit. Is definately an EBC - but I would have like a digital unit with 'buttons' and LED screen. But was decent value for money I suppose. If I had my time again, I might have bought a brand name item. Brendan
  2. SAFC is a third of the cost of a Power FC, but the PFC has way more functions and better tuning applications as such. 200rwkw is certainly achievable from the SAFC.......
  3. $1000 off ebay, or around the same from sellers in the Group Buy of this forum. Tune and install would be that extra $500 in your pocket... But ring Brett at Graham West, tell him brendan put you onto him, and get a quote for the install and tuning. BW
  4. Yah, hi Darren, cant wait to catch up, hopefully a hills run gets organised soonish. Thanks for the sweet comments! I luv my Stag, its a real sweet car. Real happy with the purchase 6 weeks ago, suits my young family just fine. Maybe buy stuff like fuel pump and injectors off ebay? Never let me down yet (spent $8k off ebay for my Fireblade....). Hmmm, Id luv to buy the suspension deal that Sydneykid has going at the moment, but dont have the $2k required. But will do the suspension probably next year, along with slotted DBA rotors. Doing the MV Automatics shift kit soon, and an oil cooler for the auto tranny (Drift_R33; thats a mod you should do!!). Need info on a Turbo though. New turb's off ebay seem to be good prices, just got to work out what one will work for me (only want an extra 40-50kw at the 4wheels)...... any suggestions? Also, power fc - works ok with an auto?? I thought you had to 'manual shift' the auto stick with an FC. Brendan
  5. Hi Maxx, Im not sure about the tuning, I was assuming that with a bit of 'magic' tuning done by the lads at Graham West, they'd be able to get the SAFC to run with a Z32AFM and larger injectors. I will upgrade the fuel pump when I do the next lot of mods, so maybe I increase the fuel rail pressure (as per Sydneykids suggestion) rather than larger injectors. I'll have a chat to GWW before I buy larger injectors to see if it'll work with the SAFC - but I dont want a Power FC, as the safc is a nice bit of gear for the real cheap price of $360. Brendan (again, apologies to Drift_R33 for the hijack)
  6. Been on the car for 1 week, only driven 90km, havent tried the low boost setting. Seems ok for the money, but would rather a digital unit for a little more money. But, if your on a budget like I am, its worth the $$ I guess. Was disappointed that the 2stage setting 'changers' are dials only, and can be easily bumped. Good thing is its installed into my 'coin holder' that the Stagea has, and fits perfectly. Out of prying eyes, like the SAFC which is in my locked glovebox. Sorry I didnt use you for the service, as per PM a month ago, wanted to get everything done at the 1 store. Also, appologies to Drift_R33 for hijacking the thread, of sorts! Brendan
  7. Maxx - Ive got a Nissan Stagea wagon, so thats an 1997 RB25DET auto with the attessa AWD system. Probably losing 70kw from the crank, so power would be around 210kw at the engine less drivetrain losses from the 4wd and auto trans. But still.................... ???? Brendan
  8. my AFM is reading 4.95 volts Ive been told, max out at 5.06 or something similar? So, have been told by the fellas at GWW thats its fine for the current level of tune, but if I want that extra 4wheel KW then the Z32AFM will be required. Plus was told upgrade the injectors at the same time. Others have questioned this as well, I can only go by what Ive been told by Ashley and Brett at GWW, as they tuned the car obviously. Either way, Ive bought a Z32 AFM now off the forums here, so will have that put on when I do my next load of mods (along with 550cc injectors for safetys sake). Just got to work out what to do with the turbo - hiflow or relace? Brendan
  9. BUMP Looks like the O2 sensor is gone for the $50, and the turbosmart contoller looks to be sold as well. Anyone intrested in a complaince Cat Converter? Same goes for a standard R33 intercooler unit? Brendan
  10. Check out Sydneykids forum on suspension upgrade in the Stagea section - has a deal going at the moment for suspension upgrades for Stages, GTRs and R33's. Decent pricing for camber components... Brendan
  11. Hiya DriftR_33, I back up the claims that Graham West Workshop on Marion rd is the way to go - picked up my 1997 Nissan Stagea series-1 wagon (RB25det R33 series 2 based) from Ashely and Brett last week. Had a full 80000km service and also the timing belt replaced, plus installed an alarm system. Had the exhaust finished off with a 3inch dump pipe and hiflow catconverter, so thats now 3inch the whole way through (and they needed to modify it but did a great job), upgraded the 'cooler slightly with an R34 GTT sidemount unit, put in a new oxygen sensor, used an Hybrid electronic boost controller set to 10psi high and 7psi low, and had an apexi safc installed and dynotuned. Top service, came out with over 20% gain (141.4kw at the 4 wheels), and they do the tuning to a SAFE tune! very imortant.!! Plus gave me advice on how to get the other 40kw I want at the 4 wheels, with info on how my injectors were being used (76%) and the AFM (almost maxed out - replacing with a Z32 unit). Very professional, I'll never be going anywhere else! Highly recommended, $88 labour rate per hour I think, with $100 per hour dyno time by memory. But well worth it - they seem to have a wealth of experience, and they own R33's themselves! Brendan
  12. Well done. Good luck with the court case. Brendan
  13. Dont know what that is!! Bump. Looks like the turbosmart boost controller is sold. How about someone grabbing a bargain and buying the O2 senbsor, brand new in box, cost $81.40, sell for less than that! Brendan
  14. I bought one too - but Ive since been told by forum members that that only the GTR has Inlet Air Temp sensor. Best to put it on another car, such as a 5.0litre V8 Commodore or the likes (I know they have an IAT sensor, as Ive fitted one to a VR SS before, and it DID feel like there was a small power gain). But this little resistor chip is no good for a R32/R33/R34 RB20 or RB25, as far as I have been told. Hope that helps. Brendan
  15. If it aint performance orientated then go to Rowel & Searle, and talk to Colin or Kelvin - Ive got my Commodore in there at the moment and they are certainly professonal..... If you want a performance boost then I keep hearing MV Automatics is the way to go - I'll be going there for perfromance work to my Stagea RB25Det auto. Brendan
  16. Good luck with it Luke. Hope it al turns out for the best for you. Brendan
  17. Ive paid the cash into the bank account.
  18. Hi, got a few things for sale: R33 'compliance' cat converter: $50 plus postage (say $20?) R33 standard intercooler and 1 hose: $50 plus postage Turbosmart manual boost controller: $20 plus postage (say $10?) Oxygen Sensor, brand new in box, cost $81 sell for $50 including postage. Needs to be wired up.......... but it'll really help your fuel economy and pay for itself after 4-5 tanks. All used but in excellent order. Brendan Wilkeson
  19. I'll buy it for $250 including post to Adelaide. email me [email protected] and I'll send $$ to your account Brendan
  20. Looks like the same to Terminal's radiator area.
  21. Thanks SK, You are a true gentleman. Brendan
  22. Cheers SK, Knew you'd state the facts. Thanks for that. Talked to Graham West Workshops again, and they did recommend for the sake of being on the safe side of things, to use the Z32 AFM and larger injectors when doing my next step of power mods. I will probably buy a AFM and 550cc sized injectors (all off ebay, and not a huge cost in essence), in around 9months time or so, unless I see a great ebay deal. Thank you for pointing out that they are side feed and not top feed, GWW was sure they were side feed but suggested I put up a post and ask the question or come by the shop and relook & confirm. Next buy though will be a MV Automatics kit and oil 'trans cooler...... Cheers, Brendan B)
  23. Quick question regarding Injectors. Will probably upgrade my injectors and AFM in good time (ie when I do some turbo work), but what should I be buying? Side feed injectors, or are they top feed? Car is a series 1 1997 Nissan Stagea rb25det..... Power output wanted is around 180kw at the 4wheels, so what size injectors would be the way to go? 550cc? Cheers for your information in advance, Brendan
  24. Bass Junky, g'day mate... Yah 'bro, I'd buy one for my series 1 stagea. Would anodise it too if thats an option but thats not a big deal. My front grill isnt standard either, its a Dayz edition..... Cheers Brendan [email protected] or PM me when its all go!
  25. OK - SK. Thanks mate, and yeah I had read your posts in regards to the R34 GTT cooler, thats why I ended up buying one (from member ED) as I figured it'd be fine for the power output Im after. From what your saying (barring the fact that yes every engine does have different olrances) I can assume that the standard injectors and AFM (and R34 'cooler) should be all ok for the 180_4wkw mark. If they are not, then we'll cross that bridge as we come to it. Thanks for your time in writing up that helpful info. Sweet. Brendan
