  1. I've heard of a full blown 24/7 monitoring system/alarm is about $1300 + couple hundred a year for a company to monitor it and call the cops if its moved outside of a specified time, they make claims of 95% of cars are found undamaged. You can get cheaper ones that you set up yourself with a spare mobile. You can then msg the mobile and it returns the longitude and latitude of the car. Pretty primitive. They are fairly expensive and you wouldn't use unless you really had a commonly stolen expensive car. In America you can use a mobile and enable tracking on it and use the mobile network to track it via the internet which is much cheaper.
  2. Not going to stop someone trailoring your car if they really want it. Put a GPS in it along with a device that pages you if its gone off. Easy done, if you find out within an hour of it being stolen chances are police will have it back in one piece with the aid of the GPS.
  3. that curve looks fantastic for an rb25, when do you start seeing decent boost/power?
  4. Comes down to how much money you can justify burning on it.
  5. The traction system on the new EVOs is pretty amazing. Individual wheel braking and power control. It makes it a fast car to drive extremely easy. On a recent track day they were eating skylines and a 34 GTR with semi slicks. Admittedly they were very good drivers but they just looked so much more controllable on the limit. Outright power and when they cars have a lot of money tipped into them the skyline would come out on top, however as a factory car the EVO is very well sorted.
  6. Has anyone got their afrs checked on the dyno, as I'm not the only one whos had a remap fix their misfire problem (running extremely rich) Can't hurt to check.
  7. Might want give people an idea of what's for sale and why its better then x store to purchase from, and ADVERTISE! can you get driftek 17x9s in?
  8. Could be a lose connection to a sensor, was it doing it before you had the pod filter on there?
  9. sounds like the afm to me.
  10. Getting many sales? Also have you done any advertising aside from here?
  11. Bigger exhaust means an increase in boost, this means you need a better spark to ignite the mixture. If your coilpacks are shagged then it will cause the misfire, if you have a stock ECU with the extra boost its probably running very rich which also needs a better spark to ignite. A combination of a tune (new ECU, fuel piggyback), better spark plugs gapped to ~.6-8 (if standard coil packs) or .8-1 if you get some splitfires should cure the problem.
  12. Yeah its all about your attitude, I was pulled over for speeding even though he didn't have a radar. He didn't try and get me for that but went over the car, saw the boost controller and its definitely too loud plus tyres are too big. He pretty much let me off with a warning but said that if I continue to speed/act like a dickhead he can play the game as well and easily send me to regency.
  13. Yeah but people who play the power game do it for the rush, the feeling of being sucked back into your seat. Most of them realise it won't make them much faster on the track. That and its just plain fun to have too much power.
  14. Keep it simple. Blue or black are always winners.
  15. Talking about tyres, I have 4 different ones, all down to about 0% on the inside and outside and about 20% in the middle. I've only got 150rwkw and it spins up first with 235s, hell it spun first when it only had 130. Tyres are what its all about, can't wait to get new rims and tyres, should be a new car.
  16. Well misfire is completely gone after remap, turns out it was getting down to ~9:1 afrs hence the rich misfire on cold days. I suggest this to anyone else still experiencing it, get it on the dyno and see how rich its getting.

  18. Sick of 382rwkw. Man I never thought I'd hear that. I'm almost content with my 150rwkw.
  19. Personally I like the idea however the combat sucks balls, the weapons are inaccurate unless up close and don't pack much punch. It generally feels very clumsy, I shot a guy in the head with a shotgun and he didn't die. Wtf? just seems very sloppy, Id like to be able to go prone and get a headshot with the ak from 50m however you can barely do that from 10m away.
  20. Ill try and make it along even if just for the meet.
  21. I have another theory to what could cause this misfire problem, on most skylines with increased boost (10-12psi on stock ECU) the ECU dumps a shitload of fuel in in the midrange (~5k) looking at any dyno chart will show this. On my dyno chart it dips down to 10:1 however I have been informed that most wideband sensors can't read accurately below 10:1 so its probable its going all the way down to 9:1. This is rich enough to cause a rich misfire. It makes sense as the colder the weather the worse it happens, weak coils would just mean that the richest mixture they can ignite is raised hence new coils/taping them can fix it depending on the severity of the problem. I am getting my ECU remapped tomorrow and we shall see if this fixes my misfire problem. I purchased splitfire coils as well which helped the problem slightly however in cold weather it still misses, there probably are several causes to this issue however I believe this might be one of them. Thoughts? Anyone in here have a remap/stand alone ECU and have misfire problems?
  22. I wasn't saying lie I'm genuinely curious, has anyone actually ever heard of them doing periodic checks to see if the car in question is parked on the street. If it was stolen how would they know if it was on the street or not, its now gone so its your word against their word, come pay out time unless they had proof it wouldn't stand up in court and they would have to pay out. Does that mean if its parked out on the street while you are cleaning out your garage its not covered? Its just a general thing to gauge how likely it is to get pinched, I doubt its written in the contract that it must under all circumstances be stored in the garage every single night or your insurance is void.
  23. How exactly would they prove that however.
  24. Surface mount soldering for the lose. Transistors are hard enough let alone square chips.
