  1. ^ The 7670 can be mounted low. It runs on the same frame as the 7163. But I know what you mean.
  2. Do it! The EFR7163 will blow the FP green out of the water.... All though it is a lot of money for not much more top end (if any)... Might be better to look at a twin scroll EFR7670??
  3. I think that the EFR7163 is touted as the 'response master'. Although it doesn't have a twin scroll option, it does have a V-band which may be help to keep costs a bit lower. You will find the EFR's are a lot more driveable and N/A feeling in their power delivery. The 7064 and 7163 would be awesome on your car, and certainly not be drag racing only.
  4. Of Course you can. So long as it is related to the Borg Warner EFR series of turbos...
  5. As this is a thread about Borg Warner EFR turbos, perhaps it is not the best place to ask about the GTX turbos. In saying that, I agree with what Geoff Said. If you want a NASTY 1000+HP setup, look at some twin EFR7163's. You will have big power, with decent response.
  6. ^ Seems shorter because your comparing IWG vs EWG. Borg Warner website also shows they use they same turbo frame size..
  7. Lith, There is an Evo 6 currently being built in Sydney with a Super 99 on a 2ltr I believe. Dedicated drag car. Expect it to run faster then STM. (Much lighter..)
  8. ^ A lot of other things play into it as well.. Cyl Head Efficiency (Porting, Valves, Cams, etc) RPM Intake Size & 'Restrictions' Exhaust Size & 'Restrictions' Turbine Housing Size
  9. I am going to run a 3.5" (or 4" if I can fit it!!) dump pipe, then when I route the wastegate dumptubes into the rest of the exhaust, jump to a 4" for the whole way with a 4" hotdog. For street duties, I think I would like to go a 3.5" axle back system w/ magnaflow muffler and for track just 4" pipe axleback. Want to get as much flow as I can.
  10. ^ I kinda agree with that. The 0.92A/R housing would just bee too restrictive for such a high revving 'large' motor. I am personally going to go a 1.05A/R as well, but have also been considering a 1.45A/R. It would be only slightly laggier but I can run the turbo to the edge with no back pressure issues. My engine is only 2.2L.
  11. Happy to separate guys! These tyres are perfect for R33/R34 GTR. Need to move the rims because I have new rims on the way. $1800 for wheels and $800 ono for tyres....
  12. They fit a R34 without much hassle. Some people are running a 10.5 +18 offset but with 265 semi-slick tyres.. so maybe these would fit with some guard pulling!
  13. Just letting everyone know that these are going up on eBay this weekend along with a heap of other goodies. So get in quick before I start selling them elsewhere.
  14. It seems that people are starting to get the 1.45A/R housings for the 8374 and 9180... I wonder how it would effect power band compared to the 1.05....
  15. I am looking at running the 'bang bang' rally style of anti-lag (REAL antilag, not this 2-step which is a launch control) on my evo. Other then increased fuel and ignition retard at high RPM and low load, you also need something to keep the throttle somewhat open (to get decent air running through the motor and into the exhaust). In addition to that (for when the car is moving) you need to setup a 'rotational idle' to help keep RPM in check.. otherwise the engine will 'run-away' which is what you don't want.. Yes it is hard on turbos.. but instant boost will be amazing. I am hoping that something like a Borg Warner EFR can handle it, as once those turbines get a bit of heat into them they are actually stronger. http://www.tomson.com.pl/product-eng-1487-Throttle-Kicker-for-Mitsubishi-Lancer-Evo-7-9.html ^ Something like this Throttle kicker is needed to get some airflow into the engine...
  16. Grandstand will be fantastic this year... lol
  17. Ill be attending, for sure. Wont be competing until next year. Haha, always down for a beer, and a chat... would be interesting to find out what the teams thought of 'spirit of time attack'
  18. Whilst I completely agree and respect your view... I begin to consider cars that I personally do not consider in the spirit.. In particular the Scorch Racing S15. This vehicle USED to be in the spirit, but now has drifted away from that in my eyes... And while I find the MCA S13 just within the spirit of time attack (as the whole build feels very grass roots compared to Scorch), even with the 'winglets' why is it that the latest carbon R32 feels out side of spirit. It feels like someone has just come along with a lot of money... Which I don't think time attack is about.
  19. Just a small correction.. you can BUY everything that the cyber evo and tilton has run in the past. It even has a catalogue number and there are numerous cars in japan and usa running it. In the case of tiltons CURRENT aero, no you cant get it 'off the shelf' yet, but in a year or two it will become a regular catalogue item, like the cyber spec stuff has. Voltex's catalogue is normally 12-24 months behind the current design.. How do I know... my car runs the cyber spec stuff. Its EASY to get. But yes, the cars should represent stock cars... they are meant to be TUNER cars... Tilton for example is a catalogue car. You can literally buy that car piece by piece from catalogues provided you have enough $$$. And to me, THAT is the spirit of time attack... looking at your car in your garage, and knowing that one day you could build something like the Ex-cyberevo....
  20. Sorry, I seem to have missed this post. I believe the spirit of time attack was so that you could actually identify what car it is. And was supposed to be a TUNER event, ie you can purchase everything off the shelf. Now I'm all for going fast, but this current crop of cars (with the exception of a few) are not with that spirit of time attack. In fact, it is easier to count the cars that ARE rather then not... (All in my opinion - PRO class) -Tilton Evo 9 (always has been. EVERYTHING they run, you can buy yourself) -Top Fuel S2K -Re Amemiya RX7 -Prep'd Motorsports Exige Nothing else gets close to being in the spirit of time attack... Cut up front ends... Swapping in double A-Arms.... Pushrod suspension.... Is not in the spirit of time attack..... custom one off chassis / wide body is not in the spirit of time attack. I'm sorry but so many cars just look like complete ass this year.
