Copper gaskets work fine, it must be annealed (heated) before being fitted. O'Brien Aluminium in Smithfield NSW do a lot of these, might have one off the shelf for less. IMO you're better off buying a DET engine complete. M'kay ??

You guys are confused about the whole silicon thing. What you want to do is spray the coils liberally with silicon spray It's an aerosol lubricant, looks & feels like oil, repels moisture superbly - not a curing sealant. I had an arcing coil issue some time back, now whenever I change the plugs I spray the coils liberally and hey presto no more probs. If you're hellbent on a more permanent fix, why not tape them up with (are u ready for this) self amalgamating butyl tape. Goes on like leccy tape, then heat with your paint stripping gun etc, et voila fuses together and shrinks around the coil insulating and waterproofing it. When I was contracting for Sydney Water we used this stuff on external electrical connectors on sensitive datalogging equipment that was mounted inside sewers - not an electronics friendly environment. High temps, lethal caustic gases and flooding are the norm. Should be able to get this stuff from Electrical wholesalers, Blackwoods etc. M'kay ??

Word around the traps is: No HDD support for PSTwo :cuss: No HDLoader support for PSTwo. :thumbdwn: That's the official line from $ony $ony concocted a story George Bush would be proud of as to the lack of HDD support in the PSTwo. The truth is PS2 always supported HDD, $ony held back while M!cro$oft was losing $$$$$ on Xbox software revenues from piracy as a direct result of HDD support. It was a commercially smart move to make the network adaptor a critical link in the chain, and to play that ace later in the game. This is the PSX vs PS1 history repeat. And the lesson from that was: Hold on to your old hardware, it's built to a standard not a price.

OK just checked. did back to back testing with Gran Turismo 3, HD vs DVD load times tested on all the screens available from the main menu. There was between 40-60% improvement across the menu. That's with a WD 7200RPM IDE drive (WD's do fit). the cheap one with less buffer. An 8mb buffer drive would have fared a little better. it's in my older v5/6 PS2 . the PSTwo's USB port might be an achilles heel. USB disk drives are hella slow on my PC compared to IDE, but on the PSTwo ? Try it & see Gushiken San, at best you'll never have to swap discs again at worst they'll be slow to load.

Yes. All PS2's play all PS2 games NTSC/PAL/SECAM. The question is... does your telly support NTSC ?? If not there's still hope. There are appz that patch .ISO images PAL-->NTSC & vice versa. Half the games I have are NTSC from HK and they play as per PAL, no patching. M'kay ?

Binary Intel Notation A binary image of a CD/DVD. If it didn't come with a .CUE (cuesheet) file you might be up sh!t creek, depending on the TOC & disc layout. I would try mounting the image with Daemon Tools (a free download) to check the image before burning. If that fails, extract the data with IsoBuster & rebuild the image with a new TOC with UltraIso. This has worked for me before. m'kay ??

These Kakimoto's designed for the R32, they just look right. I have a set with rubber for sale in gunmetal that matches your paint & offset. they look better with the centre plate removed, the big alloy nut srewed back on minus the kakimoto logo - very street cred. Shan, you don't need ANY modchip - this is what is so cool about it, it's purely a security exploit. Yeah I've chipped Xbox's, with the whole EvoX dash & apps etc, but this one blew me away - no hardware hacks whatsoever. Gohan: the PS2reality mediaplayer will play DivX, Xvid, MP3 & JPEG. It will play files from a HDD but it's a little tricky. As for using it in a car for media I think Jay95's solution is far more practical. I only use the mediaplayer to watch .avi's on the telly. CC: I think you're on to something good with that DVD-R train of thought. Up there for dancing ! The FTP & FAP servers are for transferring data between PS2-PC, so you don't have to burn a sh!tload of CD/DVD's to get stuff on the HDD. NJR: load times are reduced by about 60-70% - significant, plus everyone knows that PS2 lasers are pissweak & prone to failure. No more waiting or load on the laser. Hope that clears up some confusion :confused: More screenshots attached.

It's done with what's called the MC exploit. Basically, a PS2 can be fooled into booting from the MC through a security exploit triggered by an original PlayStation game disc. NO chip required. Doesn't like the risk of opening it, soldering 18+ SMD points to fit a modchip Have a look at the attached pic. It shows my PS2's boot screen. By pressing the assigned controller buttons in Keylauncher I can: Launch my own homebrew apps from the HDD with DMS Explorer Transfer .ISO images from the PC to HDD using fast-arm protocol with FAPLink. Launch a standalone FTP server with ExecFTPS Store & launch game images from the HDD with HDLoader. Dump any data to the HDD (ie, .mp3, .avi etc) with DMS Dump tool. Create, delete, rename, resize any partition with DMS HDD Format tool. LaunchELF allows me to launch more apps from the boot screen. CogSwapLoader allows booting of CDR & DVDR media without a modchip or Gameshark/SwapMagic etc. I would have the Media Player on as well, but not enough free space on the mem. card. All these apps are copyright free, cost nothing and launch straight off the mem.card. All you need to spend bucks on is an IDE HDD & Sony network adapter. That lot should come in under $200 Oh, and you need an original, ie black pressed PSOne game to trigger the exploit. and a means of booting CDR's. I use a retail copy of HDadvance. Please post here if you would like to know more. I won't author a big tutorial unless there is sufficient demand. Let's just say friends that I've done this for were thrilled with the results.
