    Track Day :( ?

ouch comment like this "no offense" but not what i need to hear but thank you for the honesty. i guess it is a risk we take. Sheriff thank you very much your comment is much appreciated, i think you understand where im coming from cheers. ok so car is A1 as far as fluids brakes etc etc, i have been reading the cams booklet and as for the fire extinguisher that i have purchased, the book only menchens that it must be accessible by the driver at all times. does this mean i can put it in my glove box? its not going anywhere in there and is still easily accessible, i know it sounds stupid but im not looking to drill any holes at the moment into my interior, and i cant find any brackets to direct bolt it in to the car. cheers

    Track Day :( ?

ok guys once again all input is great and very much appreciated, so thank you. just want to clear some things up. im not going out to set records or compete like a mad man, i just wanna see what its like to actually have my car on the track that is all. anyway i have just noticed that phillip island on the 4th has a driver training session option, does anyone think this would be a good idea? its half the price of sandown, which makes it more appealing and im not big note ting but i feel confident in my car and driver ability, that i dont feel like a complete novice but certainly not cocky, if you still think sandown with Driver dynamics is a better option then ill definitely look more in to that. also back to the tyre thing, i know this may sound absolutely ridiculous but would it be possible to run the RE55's on the front and a street tyre on the rear? im not so concerned about over steer and powering out of corners but more about the car under steering as im coming in to corners once again thank you kindly

    Track Day :( ?

ok guys its time to get serious, i really wanna get my car on the track but am a little scared (yes i am a sook haha) , just not sure what i need to be prepared for something like this. im hoping to get to phillip island on the 4th (but possibly could be at GOR "maybe ash maybe " ) so worst case Sandown on the 19th i think, anyway the car is in RWC condition and im chasing tyres at the moment but not sure whether to go all out on a RE55 semi slick or something more better value for money and also good on the track. obviously im not going to be flat out racing like some but more just getting a feel for the car and the whole racing experience. i have done a track days in the "v8 super car experience thingy" but those cars were fully dect out with all the race stuff and i had the dude with me the whole day anyway i also need to get a blue triangle and stick it on my boot where my battery is and bonnet strap and so on. im just worried that ill fill in the entry form and pay , to find i get there and am told "na sorry champ cant put the car on the track missing the flux capacitor................... blah blah blah"??? any help encouragement? thank you newbie track user (where are the sad faces in these emotion sections)
  6. ok cheers

  20. wow TSS certainly knows whats going on, that wouldnt stand for Transport Saftey Service by any chance would it?? any way i can 100% confirm that Vic Roads TSS cars have all the same wrights as any police officer apart from carrying a gun, so you should pull over for them BUT i also know that most of them will leave cars alone as they mainly focus on Heavy vehicles, Buses and it used to be Taxis but not so much now, honestly if they saw a car doing something wrong they tend to just radio it in to the TOGies and then they will take it from there. and a quick note bout the evos they are in full force seen them out in flemington heaps when the melbourne carnival (horse racing) was on, have also been told that they have a Jumbuk and a VW golf. so just keep an eye out. (Sneeky)
  21. ok you are correct the power gains so far are minimal but, the car has plenty still to go. all i was trying to show was what i think is one extreme to the other, seeing as i have been there and done it that is all. not trying to put wind up anyone or prove any points just one against the other. hey Jack cheers for clearing that up. yeah was good to see you at the show and shine would have been good to have a good chat, but mate needed to be home so had to leave early. hopefully i can get to a few more events and meetings now and do more club activities. i know that i always have the opportunity to go back to a smaller setup but like you said i had to try it and i did, but i am also not saying i am not happy with the lag it is a totally different feeling to the twins. And couldnt agree more "dynos are tuning tools..... all dynos are different...." cheers mate ok i understand. maybe you could send me a dyno sheet showing this, i do believe you, its just to be honest i haven't really been able to find any dyno sheets for 2.6lt SPL's around anywhere to compare with. as ive also said it is still tuned very rich so deffinatley with more tuning ill be hoping to see better results. cheers
  22. hey Paul yeah i know pretty weird , but like i said it was one of those things the engine had to come out because of the oil pump and the 51r was there, so why not try it. yeah cant beat the whistle on it you watch ppl looking in the sky as you come past scares some into the emergancy lane sometimes "i do apologies for that"
  23. sorry cant, this is the only dyno sheet of got, once its fully tuned ill post up a sheet with other indications. na that was it, never really was tuned fully but still went awsome, i think Jack may have had the 10cm rear housings though? cant remember but were still great turbos. to be honest there were no real goals it was sort of a snow ball effect, and more to the story like the turbo was at the right price so why not give it a try which turned into what it is now. ?please explain? by looking at the graph do you think the head has not had any work? or not the correct work? sorry might not have explained my point properly, when i say twins i mean low mount still. not many people go for twin high mount set ups that i know of, all im trying to show is that twin low mounts do come on earlier and thats it and im sure lots of ppl are aware of this BUT you would be surprised at how many ppl ask "is it very laggy?" and to be honest it shits me of course it is so now they have a comparison. that is all. if you think the thread isnt the"teeniest bit informative" then dont read it.
