  1. still interested. email (or post) pics as soon as you get 'em. if i'm seriously bored i might even venture out to mill park to see 'em. you got a contact #? if you don't want to post it pm me or email it to [email protected]
  2. mate might be looking for one when he gets back from japan. pics to [email protected] and ill foreward 'em to him.
  3. ever heard of a comma? and what's a 'grt' kit? link me to a pic or post one here.
  4. faaark, don't think i'll be gettin' that one then...
  5. need some help. a mate is organising a group buy of a massiah 2.5 chip for $95 (he hopes) but i have no idea what's the best chip to get. i really don't want to have to do any disc swapping and i want to be able to watch all DVD's too. i looked around online but every site i go to says their chip is the best, HA! who's got the PS2 modded? what chip are you using? how do you find it? where did/who did it? any help would be much appreciated.
  6. i've been playing a jap version on a mates ps2 and it's awesome. i does get a bit repetitive. i was fooling around and found if you hold L1, L2, R1 or R2 down when you choose your start position and direction you get a little monster hanging next to your rear vier mirror. hitting reverse at the start of a race gives a little power-boost too. i heard the next jap version 0.1 is going to be online and you can race against multiple cars at once.
  7. i was mad keen to bring a kit back when i go to japan but all the $ i'll save on buying it i'll lose shipping it back... in car dvd here we come.
  8. japan is NTSC but the zoning for europe would be different anyway. just get a chip, i got in on a group by for $95.
  9. i leave on august 2nd for akita. been with the gf for almost 5 1/2 years, 'bout time i met the parents... but i get to spend a week in tokyo before i come back. the problem you guys will have is that's it's 'obon' over there (www.japan-guide.com/e/e2286.html) and the hotels will be busy. your best bet would be to book a package tour. try H.I.S. in the city (level 9, 257 collins st) or another travel agent and tell them you what you can pay. also, you don't need a visa if you go for less than 3 months but you do need to prove you have a place to stay. don't worry if you don't speak japanese, it's easy to get around. almost all signs are in japanese/english. just learn the essential phrases; "nismo wa doko?"
  10. i got a one fixed real cheap and quick too, but i can't remember the name of the place... call 'ice performance', they put me on to 'em 9512-7591
  11. to quote 'autosalon magazine (may 2003) "...it's a nos spray to cool the core."
  12. driving in the wet the other day, i hit a very slippery spot on grange rd toorak at 30 and the car spun out. my left hand rear wheel has a bit of toe in (can't be straightened any further) which doesn't help matters. i almost hit a saab parked on the side of the road but turned in the opposite direction, yanked up the hand brake and missed it. a clean set of undies later and all's well. you can never be too careful in the wet...
  13. you remember the name of the place selling the skyline remote cars? where about's in tokyo? i told a mate i'd get him one when i go. as for you chopobo, me thinks you're missing more than a wheel nut...
  14. my friend did that! including the call to the racv. it's either a small world or we both just have dumb friends...
  15. Shingo. Anything for victory. ANYTHING. i don't think this is very accurate, i almost never nudge cars off the road...
  16. sorry dude, i got rid of the phone over a month ago. i should have posted that huh...
  17. followed your link from mccr. seats? what ya got and how much? pics would be good but i'll settle for a run down on their condition and your location (suburb) so i can take a gander.
  18. need this asap. got busted today when i was run into by a jogger. (no, i'm not kidding) if anyone's got one (preferably not tinted or smoked) please let me know.
  19. someone broke into my last car. the bastard got into my 'secure' car park and out of all the cars to bust into (2 merc's, 1 bmw, an audi, a maserati, new hondas etc...) they chose my 1984 suzuki hatch. i didn't even have anything in it! no radio, no bags, not even a melways. f**kin' morons. they opened the door with a crowbar too and totally busted it beyond repair. thank god for gaffer tape...
  20. got the phone a month ago and it's got way too many functions for me. www.gizmo.com.au/public/News/news.asp?articleid=1743 looking to swap it for a nokia 8850/55 (in excellent condition) + cash. i've got the camera, charger, hands free, box, cd, computer attachment etc. reply here or call me on 0422-968-568. do not call if your phone's all busted up, and no i won't swap for your old 5110. only interested in 8850/55.
  21. you might be able to get an aussie spriner but an AE86 for under $5k?!? good luck! i remember there was a nice one on mccr a while back..
  22. i've got most of the set on vcd except the final movie (badly scratched). would part with it cheaply as have the entire set on dvd also.
  23. forget the bat mate. they'll try to steal the car, you'll dash out with a bat and end up smacking 'em and they'll sue you. you'll end up wishing them just stole the car... the best deterrents are visible ones, just make your car look too hard to steal and they'll go looking for another. i had a friend who was too cheap to buy a club-lock. instead he got a length of thick chain and ran it around the pedals and steering wheel. then locked it with a big ass padlock. he never had a problem.
  24. (sorry if anyone finds this distressing) i was going to do up my silvia but after reading some of the SEVS rules i thought i might upgrade next year. as i understand it, under the SEVS 15+ rule, any car 15 years or older (e.g. an R32 skyline GTR) doesn't need to go through compliancing. it just needs an engineers certificate saying it's structurally sound before it can be registered an put on road. this will have a big impact on the import scene with the prices of '89 cars dropping. if you have a look at the price of GTR's on goo (japanese only) http://goo-net.com/used/search/maker.html or other sites one could have a GTR on road in australia for around $20k. not forgetting what this will do to prices of R32's already in aust. thoughts? opinions?
