  1. Cheers Chris, appreciate the support. Come say hi at wtac. Bout to meet the team at phillip island, weather looks good for a change.
  2. Looking good Stevo, turn up the boost. I wanna see a a 58 at wakefield.
  3. Our last track day at winton, phillip island testing tomorrow.
  4. I was advised from dean that we need a bigger cooler at some stage but there won't be enough time to refabricate the cooler piping and costs involved. Trying other alternatives for now and if it doesn't work, after wtac it will be changed.
  5. Awesome day today at winton, we rocked up late so we could sleep in after a late night working on the car, so only had a few sessions. Power steering sorted this time which was great so dean could concentrate on driving. Had the first couple sessions on the hard compound tyres, boys played around with the suspension set up and sorted the handling out which is now driving like it should. Had a fuel reg issue for the day which didn't let us get consistent laps in. Guys changed the fuel filter which was slightly blocked and it still had the issue next session out so straight back in again. Guys checked the petrol tank and found the fuel lift pump in pieces and plastic broken bits on the bottom. Cleaned it out, put it back together, had enough time for one more session so the hankook soft tyres were put on, with boost set middish way. The car produced some great results which we were happy with as its a positive step forward for us. Dean reckons there's an easy 1-2 seconds in it with some more laps. Massive day and massive thanks to dean, brett, paul and andrew for all the hard work all day everyday to make this happen. Ill post the vids soon.
  6. It's a pwr intercooler, 81mm thick I think, not sure on length but was a custom make for our power application.
  7. So the boys added a intercooler spray system to try and get the inlet temp down. Motec controlled to kick in after full throttle for 1 sec and then off for 2 sec. Car has been now set up with motec throttle position so that will help a lot. Car is now getting aligned again with the additional weight and ikeya roll centre. Total weight now is 1278kg, not as light as initially thought as lots of little things have been added which add up. Tie rod ends are in, thanks for the info danh, ran out of time to order so dean made his own. Picked up a new memory card so hoping the sound and video quality are back in sync for tomorrow's second shakedown at winton. So much to test again with little time till the event but its been great fun, can't wait to sleep again.
  8. Hey danh thanks for the offer, guys are working on it now and hopefully the new one I picked up works. The sway bar I bought ages ago which was off my gtr33 track car I had bought years ago so not sure who made it sorry as it was already on. Had the guys transfer it over. Ill try and find out for you though.
  9. Late night work going on to have it ready for Friday winton practice, inlet temp is to high to quick so additional front bar whole cut out to help bring it down with a water spray kit also being installed. Front diff oil cooler pump fitted, and tie rod ends almost finished. Couldn't finish off the power steering, I ran around all morning organising the merc pump prior to work couple days ago in a rush to have it ready for the guys to hook up and sort. Just as I rocked up I went to place it on the bench and it slipped out of my hands and smashed the reservoir... Oops, so still waiting for delivery of a new reservoir to try and get it all working properly.
  10. Yeah sounds great, its not as loud as I thought it would be which is a good thing.
  11. Are you gonna test at smp the day before the event at least? If so see you there
  12. Hey John what's the update, how's your car coming along?
  13. Paul Cahill made a little short film for us which was nice of him to do. We will have more footage next week to try another too.
  14. Boys added an oil cooler for the front diff, added some ikeya suspension in, and deans making up some tie rod ends tomorrow. Also carbon blocked off the other side and made it look a little neater.
  15. Using the rad cam hd for the outside view, and the new go pro for the inside view. I'm not sure why the vids were out of sync as its never happened before with the rad cam hd as its always brilliant. The only thing I can think of is that I recently put in high speed memory cars in both cameras. Anyone else have this problem?
  16. In car footage, struggling to steer, dean couldn't open a beer the next day.
  17. Can anyone point me in the right direction please. In need of adjustable tie rod ends, need em ASAP, any local shops that sell or anyone that has them laying around and wants to sell? Cheers
  18. Leigh from LW KUSTOMS did the dash and all the fabrication work. Located in Melbourne lilydale. He does awesome work.
  19. And your back in the game.....well done bro
  20. Hey Stevo, spoke to the guys and they find auto mode about half turn works best, varies for each track. They said you will find the sweet spot playing around with it. Also may. Have to dial it up a bit when hot. Buzz ya later dude for more info. Will also post some vids later
  21. Had our first shakedown at winton yesterday. Perfect weather, massive day and extremely beneficial. First session out started with the electric power steering pump not working properly, on very slow turn of the wheel it would work but anything faster than this it didn't work. So if you could imagine on turn in it would operate for a split second then nothing which caused dean to almost sheer off the track most of the day even on the straights so no full power could be applied. No timed laps in anger could be achieved. Boys tried their best but they couldn't fix it there, needs a new pump, my fault for buying a second hand one from the wreckers. Still we needed to test what we could so dean persisted through out the day to drive so we could gather as much data as possible. We experimented with blocking off the other holes on the front bar and opening others to get the desired temps we wanted. All temps are now where we want them except the front diff which is now hitting 147 degrees within a couple laps, since we blocked off other areas and with the front under tray in place we are now in need of adding an oil cooler. We tried using a naca duct on the undertray directed onto the front diff area but it wasn't enough. Another big issue was our new spring rate set up, was way to hard for winton and the car bounced all over the shop, guys changed springs to a much softer set up which was a huge difference in a positive step forward, need to go softer again for winton but we really only set this car for the island, so we need to try again at phillip island on the 9th next month. We are now changing the front suspension also, so that ikeya gear I had sitting there will be used with some tie rod ends. We only used the hard compound hankooks and they held up really well, can't compare slicks to semis yet under these conditions. Overall the car is completely different compared to how it was, the engine is incredible, the additional bars to the strut towers have stiffened up the car. We have a list to work through and be ready for winton again next week.
  22. Nah they already allocate garages by the event sec, we just asked if they could as it would make it easier for us but not sure that they can. Photos will look awesome
  23. Cheers John, and everybody for the positive feedback through out the thread Credit goes to bc automotive for all the hard work. We have requested for a garage to be near John brights car, so phil armour can be near by. not sure if they will do this or not, would be nice to have all the gtr's lined up, hopefully we can get all of them together for a group photo? Now that would look tuff, yours, dahns, John bright, Steve ka, mark(dogzilla racing), and I know James's grumblebee isn't a gtr but I reckon it looks sick so hopefully he's in, and the other gtr's also. Maybe after the practice day? We are running the 6466 precision turbo and it is awesome with the setup we have, I'm sure you will love it. Have an awesome day tomorrow, hopefully you get some sleep, I get to excited before a track day and can never sleep.
