  1. Neil my fabricator did the conversion for me he spent quite sometime looking for the correct bits from the wrecking yard ect. The pic and the info i posted gives you a starting point for the bits to look for but if you wanted him to do a conversion for you just need to send him the GTR parts and he will send you back the bits fabricated ready for install. Last person that asked he said $400. Sorry i couldn't be more help. If you want his details let me know. cheers
  2. Built a frame specially for torquing the balancer bolt and doubled for transportation purposes works great! JHH monster torque wrench!
  3. Standard steel ATI balancer hub Custom JHH 7075 billet alloy hub Upgraded EN26 Crank bolt Few more pics of the RIPS trans setup Should have the engine and box installed before friday then we can start the final assembly.
  4. Sorry about the rotation bloody iPhones.
  5. Checking bulk head connectors facing correct directions. Rips gearbox adaptor plate and engine mounts back from HPC Ran the fuel line through the rail to keep clear of the exhaust, driveshaft and to keep the line straight as possible to hit the mechanical pump at the right height. New chopper wheel fitted to tailshaft. Unfinished bracket to mount the new tailshaft sensor. Auto trans outlet temp sensor.
  6. Yep updates coming this week back on it tomorrow damn house renovations been soaking up all available hours and $$ last few months unfortunately!
  7. God the frustration involved with trying to get just my setup working Mv aut0matics were a complete nightmare to deal with it started out 1-2 months that turned in 6 months then had to be sent back more that once, box in and out several times the torque converter didn't get balanced at all after they had a go at restalling it eg massive vibration through the car the excuses just kept rolling on and on I ended up getting the box checked out locally we found worn out old bits they had used it turned into a very stressful exercise. We did consider trying to make a kit but after all that bad luck we kinda gave up. If the RIPS was available when I started the build I would have went that way for sure its a much nicer combination that sits flat and comes with all the heavy duty hardware.
  8. Cheers. It's actually a Mazda 6 colour. When in the sun it's quite a bit lighter in person.
  9. MV automatics poor excuse for a pickup tube lol Gearbox got rotated to around 36 degrees. Very twisted but doesn't seem to effect reliability.
  10. Add to that 5k for the box these parts that you will require also. Custom length and spline output shaft to suit transfercase. Fabricated sump to clear the drive shaft when the box is massively rotated Suitable length and angle pick tube to put the oil filter at the bottom of the new fabricated sump. The dip stick takes some messing around to get it at a suitable height for when the gearbox is rotated. Decent torque converter can be $1000-2000. Shifter Transcooler ect ect Pretty quickly it gets to 10-12K.
  11. What you need to do then is buy yourself a second one incase of this type of situation haha
  12. defiantely needs the bigger tyres on the front to fill the gaurds.
  13. Cheers mate. Was working on it every day from about mid October to Xmas but the motors has been a long process maybe 2 years we used lots of non off the shelf bits which took awhile to complete and I wasn't in a hurry because the car wasn't done anyway. Hopefully around 2months fingers crossed ready for tuning.
  14. Ecu to engine harness. 6 injectors, TPS, engine water temp and crank and cam sync sensor wiring can all be dressed on the engine before installation then connected via a 34pin bulk head connector on the firewall after engine installation.
  15. Definitely get some funny looks!! Factory rpm limit is 9000rpm it always puts a smile on your face
  16. Peterson remote filter mount with trick built in oil primer pump And a comparison to commonly used Z9 filter the thing is massive!
  17. 3rd owner very original except for the drivetrain a few datsun fans very disappointed by choice of engines haha Factory Honda S2000 engine with oem ecu just a set of extractors and filter makes for 200rwhp. Not worrying about a intercooler we decided why not run air-conditioning for cruising in summer haha
  18. Thanks mate your build looks killer aswell. Those 275 radial pro's are another level we got 4 of them on my car should hook up haha
  19. Haha lucky for me no mrs to worry about atm. All the fabrication, engine and wiring has just been completed so just need do final assembly now run all the speed flow then look to start tuning it. Hopefully within the next 2 months look to have it up and running fingers crossed.
  20. Motor ready for pickup JHH inhouse cnc machined oil distribution block fitted. Core plug retaining plates. In some cases the grout inside the block expands and pops the core plugs this way there mechanically retained.
  21. i did consider it but would've made running events like power cruise somewhat difficult aswell as adding more complexity to the system. If i was looking for every last HP i could find and dropping a ton of weight i would've done it for sure.
  22. Yep all good that shot was taken at full lock and looks deceiving.
  23. Rob from RIPS NZ has also been a huge help along the way from good solid advice to supplying me with outside the box thinking on how to make the powerglide sit flat in the car and retain 4WD compared to the massively rotated ugly transmission setups available here in Australia. Rips gearbox and engine mount kit. Standard gearbox cross member complete with mount 4.6kg, RIPS only 1.8kg complete. Factory engine mounts 736g Rips 563g
  24. Mate I'm not going to lie its quite expensive gear. I actually purchased the M800 back in 2002 and is still current today where some guys might have had to upgrade twice since the early 2000's to expand there requirements. Each purchase was spread out over a few different cars iv built so not one big hit to the wallet haha You can email any motec dealer and they will email you retail price catalogue. Retail is what everyone pays unfortunately.
  25. Chassis harness just completed and ready for install. Around 1400m of cable at this point in the chassis with the engine and ignition coil harnesses still to do. Mentioned in a previous post we're running a motec power distribution module this is a electronic relay/fuse box that can be programmed to perform functions like turn on & off pumps/solenoids/lights and really simplifies wiring. Only the engine thermo fan and lights couldn't be controlled by the power distribution module as we ran out of outputs. Some clever stuff can be programmed with this module. One example is the 1st gear switch input for the ecu to lock out a transbrake launch/solenoid if your about to launch the car from a stop and your in second gear New adaptor plates made to convert speed sensors in the front hubs. Dash surround bracket. And the new 7" display thats just been released and for a change i didn't make a purchase just before the newer model came along lol
