Unusual Rotor Wear - Noisey Brake Squeel.
dori34 replied to dori34's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
it may be your retainer pins are worn or loose, can you push them in/out when it is fitted? I can move mine in and out a bit, maybe this is the issue for me. i've been quoted for this full kit from the Uk for around 60 pounds delivered. (minus caliper of course) -
i am keen but i am not sure if my car will be sold by then, so i will be contacting you a week or two before the event and hopefully there are spots left.

Unusual Rotor Wear - Noisey Brake Squeel.
dori34 replied to dori34's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Let me know how you go Scott! the PMU shums bing under $80 or so from GSL rally sport may be worth awhile investment if it gets rid of this awful noise. did you have the same wear marks as me, or just brake noise only? What pads were you using before and did you have any noises? -
Unusual Rotor Wear - Noisey Brake Squeel.
dori34 replied to dori34's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
does not see the track often, put some copper grease on the backing pad and shim and also anti squeel sealant from Dynagrip, lasted 10km before the noise came back. i highly doubt it is a sticking pot in the caliper as it happened as soon as the old pads (i think they were EBC as they were yellow) were replaced with new QFM A1's, i have since changed them to RDA extreme and still the same. This has been tried also, lasting only 10-20km before the noise came back. pads are installed correctly and hey won't go in any other way. the RDA extreme pads im using are semi-metallic, could it be the metallic > rotor contact that's causing it? maybe i should go to some ceramic pads for street and see if it helps. the rotors do look abit glazed and the pads were glazed as well before i rubbed them back. the wear and shine of the rotors is different to other skylines i've seen. -
SAU NSW texi = chance to burn rubber and make heaps of smoke, who cares about times might get roof racks for my car and load it up with more wheels LOL Amen! This might be my last SAUNSW texi in my skyline so hoping to make it a good one..

thanks for the comments guys. its not a typo turboty, like i said, it started life as a GT (non turbo) but its got all the turbo running gear in it, the box is a RB20 running redline shockproof Gbox oil with G70 nulon treatment. forgot my phone #, how silly - 0413544494 price is negotiable and open to swaps!

Blake did some work on my car and he's been great, such a shame he's caused problems or had bad dealings with a few SAU members. I hope you all can get it sorted out asap and that he repays you all, this has definitely given him a bad name. Sorry but i don't have his address, as all work as either done at my mechanics workshop or at my place.

Its sad for me to do this, but unfortunately its time to move onto a 4door family car. it has been my all time favourite Nissan & been in love with the shape since i was 14 (back in early gran turismo days). I've owned it for the past 3~years (will be 4 years in August) and i am the 3rd owner in Australia (got all import/compliance paperwork from when it came over). During this time, its undergone major changes & upgrades. Life started out as an ordinary R34 GT with a 5 speed RB25DE non turbo. Not long after, i bolted on a turbo kit to it, made 210rwkw @ 1bar, lasted about 1.5years before piston 6 ring land gave up (approx 120XXXkm) Then came the new motor in 2010, with a rebuilt bottom end. Engine: Forged bottom end with CP Pistons 20thou oversize GTR con rods with ARP studs, balanced standard crank balanced, and fitted with a crank collar. head lightly ported on inlet & exhaust sides, cleaned & machined custom oil drain from the head > sump ARP head & main studs ARP race bearings N1 Oil pump OEM water pump oil restrictors carbing oil catch can Blitz DD Venturi bov ACL metal head gasket ACL metal exhaust manifold gasket & Turbo gasket 600CC highflow injectors (43psi) & 850cc (60psi) nismo adjustible fuel reg CPC custom plenum TD06SL2-20G 10cm turbo 600x300x76mm front mount intercooler with 2.5" end tanks & custom piping, all sprayed black tial 44mm wastegate mounted on the stock manifold with custom removable screamer pipe (plumb back or atmo) braided oil & water feed lines custom 3" V band dump/front pipe (1 piece) custom 3" metal intake with 3A racing filter 3.5" HKS hi power exhaust ASI 42mm alloy radiator (4 months old) carbing cooling panel (HKS oil cooler *not fitted*) JJR direct ignition coilpacks Interior: Greddy Profec B Spec 2 EBC STRI turbo timer jenson single din touch screen DVD player jaycar 6" speakers front, sony 6" rear Haltech PS1000 ECU retrimmed front & rear door cards/quarter panels nismo gearknob 20/15% tinted windows Exterior: OEM GTR front bar/lip, bonnet + hinges & latches impul racing style side skirts GTR fibreglass rear wing 6K HIDS CF weather shields CF vinyl wrapped pillars Suspension: KTS coilovers Kazama castor rods new OEM tie rod ends (less then 3000km old) whiteline adj front sway bar GTR rear swaybar rear subframe lower brace (not fitted) Drivetrain: R33 GTST brakes with RDA extreme front, bendix standard rear. R33 GTST shimmed LSD Exedy Heavy Duty Button clutch Rota Grids 18x9.5+20 (front) 18x10 +30 (rear) long black steel lug nuts brake master stopper RB20DET gearbox Rego valid till August 2012, the car has done 25XXX km since the rebuild, and hasn't skipped a beat and still running strong. It is serviced every 5000KM with fully synthetic oil (mobil 1 0w40 for first 10,000km, now switched to Castrol Edge 10w60) The car has been tuned by Jeremy @ DVS TUNING and pulled 281rwkw @ 18psi - currently surges on anything higher then 18psi - not sure why it does this, tried a anti-surge front cover and it didn't help. Will come with standard nissan exhaust (with cat) and shocks/springs. the bad: - minor chips on bonnet - marks on front bar when it was hit & run at car park shopping centre - marks on rear bar when it was hit & run again at car park shopping centre - deep key mark on driver side door - minor ding on passenger door & rear quarter from shopping trollies - steering rack has a minor leak but may be able to supply a 2nd hand rack (pending sale price) - rear right coilover is knocking (most likely leaking) - pass headlight is cloudy, its getting on the inside somehow. price: $16,990 ONO with rota wheels - i can remove parts off the car to make it cheaper. also open to swaps +/- cash for a 4 door. minus $500 if you want veilside andrew 18x8/18x9 wheels instead. some pics. pics from the rebuild;

Hi Pete when is deadline for payment? Drifting/skids/burning rubber absoloutely not allowed? Lol
-
i found out these flex pipes have small gaps in them, so might have to opt for something like this instead which is solid yet flexible, because this makes it easier to remove matt and dave, can you confirm if there's still space? will pay today and fax my form off on Monday.

i think he is just trying to clear out the anti surge covers! with that said, if anyone needs one, i got a anti surge cover going cheap

any recommendations for laser cutting in sydney? its a small job for 2-2.5mm thick alloy plates cut around size of a cigarette box. a few i've spoken to do large jobs and big quantities only. ill be needing around 6-10 of these plates. thanks in advance for any recommendations.
-
thanks for the pics Scott! i love the carbon blade on the R33 cause its much thicker than the R34, it makes the car stand out! i have 2 R34 wing blades left over, for $90 each, does anyone want to purchase them? This is the CAD drawing for the R34 end plates, you can run these as optional, i recommend just getting the basic shape of the plate, and get bolts to suit and the holes drilled and tapered to suit the bolt, recommended plate thickness = 2mm. 2.5mm end plate may fit as well. The standard screws will not fit as they are too fat and wide. so some hunting around for 2mm thick tappered head screws (like below) or ultra flat pan screws. Carbon wing blade without end plates: 130.8cm Original OEM blade with end plates: 131.3cm Original OEM blade without end plates: 130.3cm End Plates: 5mm each Carbon wing blade with 2mm alloy end plates: 131.2cm

my mate is gonna start on it on Tuesday. so should hopefully have it done by Friday. does anyone still want a R34 wing blade? got 2 left - selling for $90.
-
no headlight intake for R33 S2. GTR only i think it had (need to double check) Owgasm, most likely 2mm alloy is best. I will have it drawn up in CAD for you guys to send around to get quotes on. Tommyr34, it will not fall off as its still held in by the same amount of screws as OEM. If everyone is happy to pay $90 for the wing blade (just waiting on ztuned & tommyR34) to confirm, let me know ASAP via PM. Owgasm & sinistaGTR, will let you know when the refund goes through. PewPew, let me know of yours and ztuned's final decision asap Thanks all and sorry about all this hassle.

$90 if you want to keep it + postage. measurements below: Carbon wing blade : 130.8cm Original OEM blade with end plates: 131.3cm Original OEM blade without end plates: 130.3cm End Plates: 5mm each so they are approximately 5mm shorter/longer with/without end plates. Cheers
