  1. Yeah Alpinestars if youre cashed up. Or else Pumas are fine too, theyve got good support around the heel/ankle area. Or else any shoes with as flat a sole as possible is alright too.
  2. The car has 280rwkw and Ohlins coilovers and RE55s. I need a wheel alignment, havent done it before, and some sway bars and strut braces might help a bit. The first time at Winton I did 1.44-ish, which was the time before this. I had 315rwkw at that time with RE55s and GAB coilovers. Im not that satisfied with the time because of me knowing quite a few drivers in their stock-ish evo's in the 38-39s. And your time too Roy, thats what I call respectable. You've got less power than me but presumably more suspension work?
  3. Beat my PB at Winton by 3 seconds today with 35rwkw less than before at 1.41.7-ish Damn, I know my lines arent the best, and im going in a bit too hot on some of the corners, but I dont think theres more than 2 sec's in it (at my level of skill) unless im doing something really wrong. Wonder how much time there is in it if I get a proper wheel alignment and some strut braces and sway bars. No matter, I wont be doing anything else to it until get into the 30's. No point spending more money to make up for the lack of driver skill

  8. Basically there are two types of Ohlins, ones that are made in Sweden and the ones made in Japan under license. What he was saying is that the Swedish Ohlins >> Jap Ohlins >> Tein Monoflex > HKS Hipermax
  9. Haha yeah? What does your car look like? Anything distinctive about it? So I can look out for it next time im there PM me if you like
  10. You can get them on Yahoo Auctions JP. Garage Saurus often use them on their 32's too. Now anyone have a set of n1 skirts for sale locally?
  11. As you said, budgets not a problem and if you intend to keep the car and pay for the labour involved in taking apart and in and out, then you might as well get it rebuilt with uprated internals. And since the oil pump is basically a motor out job, you might as well spend the couple hundred bucks on doing it, which gives you the option of having 300+kw later on. Just a word of advice, what an engine build is budgeted to be at the beginning always ends up a couple grand more from my experience, so just budget for that.
  12. I get it from 3rd to 4th and I have a C's short shifter too. I reckon its just a problem of being over-enthusiastic on my part. In the end a standard gearbox taking 350rwkw fairly reliably is still a feat in itself, so I just have to remember that the time I could save by shifting like its the end of the world is probably in the tenths of a second per lap. I dont know if this is common, but I assume it is, especially mine being a 19 year old box. Its just a problem with the synchros not having enough time to basically synchronise itself with the next gear, leading to the crunching noise.
  13. You can get an Essential one from Yahoo Auctions JP. Slidewize on here can help you

  16. Really? Haha didnt know that. And gotta fix this part too: "And so the forum as you see it today celebrates 1000 posts!"
  17. Even though they are definitely not top of the line Ohlins, I thought they were still pretty expensive? I was guessing 2-2.5k new? And they look to be in pretty good condition for a 2nd hand set.
  18. What?
  19. You can run different sized tyres front and rear as long as the rolling diameter is the same (or close to). An example of this would be something like 265/35/18 and 235/40/18, if my maths is correct. No good to run the car on 2wd for too long with just the fuse pulled out too. If you want to do it rwd, take out the transfer case too.
  20. Hahah did you go thru the thread to find those? I was looking for em the other day and I couldnt even find em myself Nothing much has changed since then, only under bonnet stuff. The only thing else you can see from outside is the rear windscreen has now been tinted privacy glass style, and a different intercooler. Ill get a pic of it up soon, but the paint on the front lip is farked.
