hi damuscat, The R33 uses the same model PFC wether the car is 1993 or 1998 R33 (inclusive). They all use and run the same stock ecu (map changes however) but its the same control unit. The 98 R33 that uses the R34 CAS runs the same logic and controls so its fine with a normal R33 PFC. I know of a 1998 R33 in melbourne that runs a normal R33 PowerFC fine with no issues.

i dont understand what your actual problem is - what isnt working? what is working? do you see boost output if you do monitor, 1 channel, boost? what do you see under etc, sensor sw check ? (anything highlighted in black?) what do you have under setting, boost ? (which one is highlighted and what are the numbers) how is the boost kit installed (do a diagram for the air lines) - how is the wiring installed? lastly have a read of; http://paulr33.sauvic.com.au/docs/powerfc-...powerfc-faq.htm it covers how to use the boost kit and how it should be installed

i think from memory i have seen vanilla gt28rs's from $1300 trade price which is very resonable imho compared to hks spec gtrs's not sure on exact differences, one would assume its not hks spec compressor/wheel options but the same all in all

the factory immobiliser, alarm system wont care if you do ecu reset. ive got the factory immobiliser/alarm and ive flattened my battery a ton of times and even changed the ecu, and it doesnt care. no need to trash it exactly, just drive normally. it only advanced the timing like 2deg

GCg are a garrett distro, surely they have more turbo's that the "GCG hiflow". Have you asked them for budget prices on generic t3 turbochargers? I suspect they would stock plain bearing, journal bearing units as well as the higher spec ball bearing units. i think they even do other brands and not just garrett. And there are other places too

ive had limited sucess from trying any of it i brought another screen that was the same model and part # but a different colour and couldnt get it working off a pfc hand controller ive got a busted hand controller that still boots so i cut the lead on it and run it off USB power from my pc i then spliced in the new screen i brought (details are in the pfc faq, even a photo of the new lcd display) but it doesnt work the new screen just doesnt fire up so im not sure whats wrong, could be wrong pinouts, could be wrong version/unit/voltage etc.

whats wrong with the stock one? it works and its simple, no thinking required

the part # used for the screen and splitting it up is covered in the pfq faq in my signature, have a browse through the rx7 guys have done some cool hacks on it

throttle body, throttle position sensor, throttle cable it sounds like its getting stuck or sticking open

find some tuners near you or on the forums and see what they prefer and use they will have good hands on experience using what they know, be sure to cover a few so you dont get a biased opinion. i dont think the gizmo camfc will do what u want the safc has proven results over and over and should get you 200rwkw without an issue i think it would be cheaper than the emanage too
