  1. agree ive only been pulled over and hassled twice - had my once for bald tyres fair enough other was through a bretho and fair enough loud exhaust otherwise fine, driving near cops or next to cops etc

  6. get nissan consult or one of the clones and check for error codes from the stock ECU all of the systems rely on the TPS working and it may be intermittently going out of range when it does, a number of systems can fail, like the ones you mentioned i get this on my 33 sometimes, fix is to turn off car, pump accel pedal a few times (open/close throttle body) and restart and its fine its likely the TPS sensor may be dirty, loose or starting to fail. check consult for real time diag

  9. the supra they get is absolutely totalled as if you would fix it back to a new car and its n/a anyway - knobs

  13. read the PFC FAQ on correcting knocking in my signature you cant set the temp ign adjust as it clears each time you key off and isn't meant as a permenant fix ie; you would not want to -5 the whole map, it would suck you only need -5 deg where its knocking and -2 might even be enough you need to speak to a tuner and say your car currently knocks as is, but if you -5 deg its fine and they should adjust the "max load" are on the map and take out some timing dont let them adjust the "CAS" or back dial it. some lazy tuners do this dont let them shift the whole map -5 or -2. some lazy tuners do this you only want the max load area -2 (or whatever the magic number is)
  14. its prob bogus given its so cheap but the GTR PFC is generic for BNR32 and BCNR33 - its the same model the only difference is the 02 sensor type on the car, one is titania, the other is zirconia, under FUNCTION SELECT you set which one (ie 32 or 33) and yes replacing all vac lines is very cheap and will solve a number of whacko issues i had a split vac line for about 2 years nearly and never noticed it finally replaced it, kept splitting, replaced it with fuel hose, works perfect now

  16. its as good as the tuner ie a remap done by an awesome tuner could make 200rwkw a powerfc tune done by a poor tuner could make 50rwkw its all down to the tuner, how well they tune it, and how quickly (this adds to cost) a remap can make 500rwkw as can a powerfc as can a motec, as can a autotronic etc no ecu is limited to a given power level, any one that says ECU XYZ will make more power, either cant tune it properly or is lying if the car is tuned properly then there should be bugger all different in max rwkw between a well done remap and a powerfc tune but back to your original question if it was just a basic remap ie remove speed cut and boost cut for a typical r33 gtst it might make 170/180rwkw, with a powerfc it might make 200rwkw again this assumptions on a basic tune and an r33, yours is a 32 so it would be different
  17. yeah the ECU (GTR with working airtemp) will back out timing when airtemp goes up, but it wont ever add timing when airtemp is cool so tuning in cold may be ok as ECU will back out timing as it should when its hotter

  20. yep all apexi products i have seen have NVRAM to store settings even when powered off (even for a long time, ie months) the RSM is even better by storing the top scores of each value when you key off, ie peak RPM and Speed etc the powerfc doesnt keep top scores in NVRAM, only tune state and tune data

  23. you can buy a 2nd hand PFC rb20det version and the new version EL hand controller however i would do that if you find one without a hand controller

  25. but none of those have a sole part in cold/hot start all of those are used in engine oepration, but dont have a sole purpose in cold/hot start ie if the AFM is toast the car would do other wierd shit likewise for fuel pump, throttle body, injectors, coils etc
