i know it sounds silly, but did the guy connect the battery up after he replaced it? Did he test it to see if it had any charge? I'm a big fan of checking the simplest things first.

WHO NEEDS BRAKES, When you have 4WD!!!!!!

I agree, looks tougher without centre caps

nice, I like the front bumper, kinda looks like it's been modelled on the R34 with the round driving lights/indicators. Looks like you've got the stock airbox in the back, that'll make it easier for compliancing. I can't wait to see it.

I've just been thru it all (except i'm already in QLD) Insurance is about $1k from Just Cars and Famous. If your over 25 you may get it cheaper from shannons, but theres not that many insurance compnies who cover imports. There is a thread on here somewhere about stagea/skyline insurance so thatsanother good place to look. To get a car from interstate, you'd best talk to the dealer(if you go thru one & I'd Highly recommend motovation imports, prices were a bit higher, but quality of the cars were amazing) cause they ship cars interstate daily. When i was buying mine, they were getting another one in & ready to ship for a fellow who lived down in Melbourne. You can get the car inspected for you by a 3rd party(someone living up here or NRMA/RACQ) or you could come up to our lovely state for a bit of a holiday, & search for a car while your here & drive it back down, either way it's probably going to cost you the same if you take into account all the freight fees etc.

Why Dont People Look When They Reverse?
Techo replied to Burns's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
If you have comprehensive insurance & you got the details of the other driver, you just call up your insurance company & make a "not at fault" claim. It doesn't cost you a cent, you don't loose your no claim rating & the insurance company chases the other party up for the damages. I have a mate who's going thru this at the moment with a beautiful HT Monaro. this silly Bit(h backed into his door while he was at the servo. It's next to impossible to get a good door for them now, but yeah he's got his insurance company to sort it all out for him -
Has anyone contemplated/priced replacing the engine driven fan for a big say 16" thermo fan? After years of working on motors (i admit they were all mainly Commondores), i found the less you have the crank driving, the more power is transmitted thru the driveline. And small things like engine driven fans, water pumps, etc that can be replaced with electric items make good gains in kw. Just a thought @ 5am........

What I found is that a decent pod costs about the same as a panel filter if not more, & you have to stuff around with making a cold air box for the pod = more $$$, & The problem with an unboxed pod is that it sucks in HEAPS of hot air from the engine bay. Or you could buy a VL-VP Commodore K&N ($99) or Splitfire ($60) panel filter from just about anywhere & stick it straght in. no stuffing round & about the same gains as a boxed pod filter.

Has anyone got their drivers & passangers front windows tinted to match the back? if so, how much did it cost? what grade tint and how does it look?

Hey each to their own

Well why not have a dedicated DIY section for each forum? I'm sure the cefie crew dont want to be digging thru the skyline section for something to do directly with that bodyshape, just as i'm not a fan of it. I know the search button is a great tool, but unless you type in the correct string, you get nothing. I mean how difficult would it be to set up a stagea DIY section, with a sticky thread with the links from the main DIY section that pertain to us? The section doesn't need to be able to be posted in by everyone, but the Mod's could move applicable threads to the section for everyone to enjoy. It would take a bit of time, but the stagea community would be more knowledgable for it.

Damn that looks good

Sorry to dredge up an old thread but I agree, why can't we have a stagea DIY section?

Thanks beastien, & GoldZilla
