  1. some sort of boost leak?
  2. Took me a few hours...it's not perfect but it'll have to do. Power gain - most likely nothing but hey,its better than having cable tie supporting the pod filter. I've submitted a DIY but seems its not showing up.
  3. DONE and DONE!! tin snip is pretty much all your need.
  4. Hi all I had just spent the entire afternoon making myself an enclosed box for my pod filter and I thought I'd share it with you. Find yourself a couple of sheet of cardboard and start making your design. Obviously there are plenty of templates out there on the net but no one seems to have any measurement so you'll going to have to draw free hand. The top cover is the easy part as all you need is the general shape and it should be pretty straight forward. The partition part is the more difficult one as you need to cut the cardboard piece by piece as you gauge how well it's fitting. Just remember you allow holes for the pipes. See below for shapes Once thats done you can use it as a template and copy it onto a sheet of Aluminium. You can get these sheets from you local Bunnings for $25, 0.5mm X 600 X 900 I think. You can try to get the thicker one if you wish but if you don't have professional cutting tools like me, 0.5mm is probably the best thickness to use. It's thin enough for you to cut and thick enough to be useful. Once you've traced the shape then start cutting away. For me I decided to use the tin snips because I did not have a good work bench with vice grips for me to work with. The only problem with tin snips is that you can't cut round shapes and with great difficulty I managed to break them off and filed it down. Now comes the most difficult part, cutting holes in the middle for the pipe. I chose a shape that required only cutting one square hole in for the air flow meter and a half circle at the bottom for the other pipe. Most design will have a few extra holes for the charcoal canister etc etc .........well, I couldn't be bothered so I bent the whole sheet to wrap around the two canister rather than have a piece going through. Once you've cut the whole lot, bend whatever you need to and fit the box on. It doesn't hurt to cross your fingers as sometimes things don't go as you planned and a lot of cursing will follow. Have some nuts and bolts handy to tighten the two pieces up. I'm fairly certain you can slide the metal under the charcoal canister bracket and the headlight bracket so that it doesn't bend your shiny looking panel when you tighten the screws but I didn't really care. It wasn't going to win the design of the year award so I just left it on the top and had it bent when the screws were tightened.
  5. I would like his number for stalking purposes
  6. Problem with BN kits is that it has WAY too much flare, you need a decent set of wheels to pull it off. Most people buy the kit and left with no money for the deep dish wheels so it ends up looking very awkward.
  7. Still living in the hills but got no e tag, so looks like i'll have to meet you guys on the free way down south instead. Unless they have toll booth which I highly doubt.
  8. Yes, trust front bar has been done to death......try JUN, or Top Secret or Do Luck
  9. This is a weekend DIY thing so what every tool I have will have to suffice. So plasma cutters are out of the question. yeah I'm sure they are 0.5mm and the reason I got it because it seems thin enough to cut by myself without having to enlist the help of expensive workshops and just strong enough to be useful. This is afterall just for fun. I'll try the hack saw and see how that goes.....if I can't find a hacksaw i'll have to get a tin snips....it seems to be a tough job cutting with tin snips though. We'll see tomorrow.
  10. What time does this actually start btw?
  11. I was thinking of tin snips, they'd be fine for 0.3mm ones but i'm not too sure about 0.5mm... Will hack saw work? theoretically, they are somewwhat "manuverable" for cutting odd shapes.....
  12. Follwing my other post about cutting aluminium, does anyone have some measurements for R33 GTST air diversion plate? Could've sworn i saw a pic of it lying around somewhere.
  13. Got myself a sheet of aluminium today from the local hardware store so that I can make an air box for the pod filter. I've got the template all trial fitted so the only thing left to do it transfer the design onto the alu sheet. The only problem I see left is cutting it. The sheet is 0.5mm thick so it's not too thick. Any suggestions?
  14. try Demir auburn on Parra rd, 99% sure it's the same F430 and Lambo
  15. someone designate a meeting point please....I don't particularly enjoy driving down alone and getting lost on the way.
  16. i guess count me in too......driving 3 hours down to Canbera on the day doesn't seem too enticing.
  17. isin't it everyman and his dog has 18"?? 17" is the new 18" hehe
  18. Succenss!!! ALL DONE!!!! Thanks all Was a bitch trying to get the last piston in on both sides......Got piss off with the first one and decided to bleed the whole thing and take it apart. Second time around (the right hand one) it was easier as I got a hang of the art of wedging. The last piston was still a bitch, so I ended still having to drain the whole thing but didn't take it apart this time. All in all, it was fun, bedded the brakes in at normal road speed....(obviously I wasn't going to try the 90 to 20 deceleration in a residential zone) as the neighbours are already giving me the evil eyes after I had a minor lock up at the last attempt. I have to say I am quite pleased with my effort...even though it took me 3 hours for the first set of brake pads....The second one only took 10 minutes. I encourage all to give it a try!!!
  19. don't have a G clamp, I was told the use of long screw driver to push the pistons back.....which I am having trouble with. Edit: Having hell of a hard time pressing the pistons back....ARRGGHHHHH
  20. Ok i've gone though the tutorial about taking off the brake pads.....now its time to put it back on and there doesn't seem to be enough room in between the rotor and the two round thingamajiggy. How do I proceed?
  21. dismantle the car and sell it for parts......probably would get more back.
  22. does rolling the guards on a gtst help with offsets?
  23. wanna swap wings paul
