  1. I varry shutter speeds a lot, anything from 1/40 to 1/250 ish, depends on situation, car speed, corner or straight, focal length, and how hung over I may be at the time... Id love to lower it more in some shots but shooting at 200mm with a non is lens fully hand held makes it hard. Normaly I would look for a place that doesnt have a bussy backgound but didnt have media access for Targa West so choice of spots was limited
  2. Finaly got arround to finishing the Targa West Sunday gallery, long overdue. Heres a couple of shots from it: Full gallery can be found here: http://nextgenphotography.zenfolio.com/p194048761
  3. It was a bit more than that, it’s a 4 shot panorama with every frame a 2 shot HDR image and various minor tweaks in Photoshop. PS: also had to correct verticals in PS as all the building were leaning in
  4. Singapore skyline...
  5. Aperture was generaly arround f4.5 to f5 its true with the fence dissapearing with large apertures but you have to be close to the fence for it to work properly, in some of those the fence was still a few meters away. I woder if there is software that can remove paterns like that... The actual race, and the whole F1 event in general was amazing. Will be coming back next year
  6. Last few for now. I will do them properly once I get back to perth in a couiple of weeks.
  7. The fence is anoying.. you can see it in the pan shots. Sometimes I manualy focus on where i want but in general the camera doesnt have much issues focusing on and tracking the car through the fence.
  8. Few more from today
  9. Thanks, dont have many up yet, partly as trying to do to many things while in Singapore so dont have to much time and partly because im not too keen on processing raw files on a VERY slow netbook with a VERY bad screen. There will be many more though Heres the only other one I had uploaded:
  10. Heres a couple of shots from the friday practice. Not fully sure what they actualy look like as the monsterous 10" screen on the netbook is not exactly up for showing acurate colours/anything. Cheers
  11. Cheers, saw the flowers and thought I would make use of them to add a bit of colour. 5D Mk II and 70-200 2.8L + 1.4 extender + Heliopan circular polarizer
  12. A few from the Speed Event Series round 10 at Jack's Hill Fill gallery here: http://nextgenphotography.zenfolio.com/p68238419
  13. I would say go for the lenses, they give you more creative options and last near enough forever. Highly recomend f2.8 or faster lenses if ou can afford them
  14. I’m representing canon also go the trusty 5D mk II, you beautiful low light thing
  15. I do agree about hdr being over done, sometimes. However I think it has a place in certain conditions where it's otherwise impossible to get a shot at all. Most of the shots I put up were shot directly in to the sun and were impossible to do any other way
  16. HDR seems to be the in thing right now.. heres some of mine from the quit targa west start last friday in the city This one is from Kulumunda service park Zig Zag Stage: And the outright winner, Peter Major in his awesome R35 GTR Have a heap of photos to go through from Sat and Sun and they will slowly be added to the Targa West 2010 gallery here: http://nextgenphotography.zenfolio.com/p889762662 Cheers
  17. No more for now, always interesting to go back to old photos and see what you can do with them now so will see if I can find anything else to play with. Off to Singapore in 4 weeks to so should have some good stuff from there also
  18. Heres a bit of a remake on a shot I did end of Jan this year:
  19. My car is the Awesome
  20. Very nice photos all round here, love the motorsport stuf. Here are a couple of mine from Sunday (Speed Event Series Round 9, Collie Hill Climb) And one of the round winner, James Eames: Comments/sugestions always welcome
  21. The overlayed image was actualy a stuff up, I just wanted to batch multiple raw files in to psuedo HDR's, instead it blended them all together... it was late to my defence, lol
  22. Heres a slightly different look to some of the photos from the Spices Catering Cup. Something very funky: Also works in black and white... maybe: ACTUALLY NOT SURE IF I LIKE THOSE LAST TWO, COMMENTS WELCOME Thanks
  23. Here is something a bit different from the Spices Catering Cup WA State Championship Round 5. Havent had the time to go through all the shots yet so its just a couple up now Coments welcome
  24. I can vouch for camerasdirect, baught my manfroto tripod from them, was very simple and delivery very quick
  25. While were on zoom shots, here are a few new ones, these I do like And a few others: All these are from Saaturday from the Speed Event Series round 8 at barbagallo whole gallery here for anyone interested: http://nextgenphotography.zenfolio.com/p629280394
