  1. Hey well since no 1 replyed to tell me I'm an Idiot i thought i would have a fiddle. so i removed the traction control butterfly. and ground into the top and bottom about 7 - 8 mm so that it looked like this i was gonna take a picture of it when it was finished but it seems to be awsome currently. i can drop the clutch at any rev and it lets the car spin up to about 3k soo realy for me its perfect revs for launching it. i hope this may help some 1 else out. feels totaly different to drive with TCS on now, more fun but not on edge like when its turned off. regards chris
  2. Hey every body, so i have had my R34gtt for just under a year now and ever since i have had it, it has had the TCS fuse out of it. so i fianly thought i wonder what its like to drive with traction. its a Totaly differnt car................................................. boring you could say, but i can see it being good in winter. so i'm playing around on "private property" and droped the clutch at 5k rpm and stalled the car. Now from what i can see the computer that control's it seems a little too over sensitive. Has any 1 ever thought of trimming the TCS butterfly so that when it trys to shut down the car it can only shut off say 80-90% of the air flow. that way i could drop the clutch at 4k at the drags and it would take off with out spinning to 7k but not stall either. my theory is that aslong as the TCS butterfly is creating some form of resistance in the intake it is working, but not quite as much as stock standard. Now i just wait for some 1 to say dahhhhhhhhhhh try the search butten. (which i did) regards Chris
  3. Hey for the 50th time im back. ok i ended up choping the top bump stops in half, which made a massive massive difference to the comfort. i recoment any 1 with JIC coil overs to do the same. i also found that setting the damper setting to about #5 front and rear is absolutely excellant, i can now go over rail way crossings. i also thing alot of the problem was due to me and every 1 else thinking that setting the damper to the softest setting will make it better, it doesnt it feels terrible now that its tuned a bit more. regards chris
  4. ahahha give me a bracket highest dual fueled turbo car and i will come lol
  5. Hey yeah i totaly agree, but i have to make the best with what i have. iv got a few work mates looking into making some custom springs but it all depends on $ regards
  6. ok i emailed JIC not thinking they would reply and to my amazment this is what i got with in about 8 hours. Hello i have a set of R34FLTA2* fitted to a R34 GTT. what i would like to know is how much piston travel should there be? i have taken a photo of the coil over fitted. the car was not jacked up at the time of the photo. the spring rates are the standard 12kg 10kg setup for a R34GTR. i would have thought there should be more then 1inche of travel befour hitting the bump stops? would raising the lower spring locating nut increase suspension travel? or would that just pretension the spring and change the spring rates. the lower locating spring nut is only just done up firmly against the spring currently. does it need to be pre tensioned to stop it bottoming out. the biggest problem is being in Australia were nobody has any idea about setting these parts up. thank you in advance Chris, This set up you should be have more 50% bump travel and 50% rebound travel. You need cut top side bump stop half. For better ride. Also need dust boot. Shock need take care and cleaning maintenance. Don’t adjust ride high from spring. You only can adjust ride hight from lower brackets. Spring shouldn’t play between lower spring seat and top spring seat. If you adjust from spring you will lose travel and make damper damage. JON JIC-Magic www.jic-magic.com www.cross-na.com so i have started choping the bump stops but in the process i snapped 2 wheel studds off so i now have more work to do lol regards chris
  7. hey fella's never ever would have thought this would cause soo much attention. zavoli probly is the same as prins as in 90% of the gear i looked at the only thing that was diff was the ecu's hmmm i wonder a drop tank in the 34 hmmmmm Shane at FFG should have his SS ls1 TT ute running soon thats runing 16 injectors i think and twin tanks, but dont quote me on that. the profire ecu is ready to go aswell but its constantly being updated. soo deffinitly give brad a buzz. regards chris
  8. yay got it to work. yeah the spring is not loose when the shock is bolted into the car. do i realy need to set it with the shock un installed from the car. am i wrong in saying there should be more then 1 inch of shock travel. would lifting the car via the spring locking nut give more travel?? then lower the car via the lowering bracket. or should i just chop the bump stop 20mm shorter??? what i was originaly going to do was put some softer springs in but in theory if i do they will compress even more and it will be sitting on the bump stop then. cheers
  9. please tell me if the pic works for every 1 as im not sure. cheers
  10. I originaly tried to send this directly to Sydneykid but hey looks like i aint the only 1 trying to fill his inbox. I have JIC coilover's that came with my R34gtt there a god awfull 12-10kg set up. I'm trying to make the best of what i have currently. what i would like to know is how much piston travel should there be? i have taken a photo of the coil over fitted. the car was not jacked up at the time of the photo. i would have thought there should be more then 1inche of travel befour hitting the bump stops? would raising the lower spring locating nut increase suspension travel? or would that just pretension the spring and change the spring rates. the lower locating spring nut is only just done up firmly against the spring currently. does it need to be pre tensioned to stop it bottoming out. i put a cable tie on the shaft and put it as far down as possible and just moving the car in the drive way on the hill moved it 2/3 of the way up, so it must be on the bump stops nearly all the time. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...g&id=140449 thank you in advance. regards chris
  11. saying all that i had that exact problem it turned out to be a split vacume hose just b4 the boost sensor on the drivers side of the fire wall chris
  12. but u see if you remove the plastic it doesnt change the fact theres a bloody great big wiring harness behind there. i actully re inforced the plastic with a peice of tin so if it bottoms out again it will rub on metal not plastic and wires chris
  13. i had this problem. i wore threw the plastic on the drivers side and my 34 cought fire. the main wiring harness that goes between the batttery b4 the fuses is directly above the wheel u were throguh the plastic and it shorts out and it catchs fire and wont stop untill u kill the battery. just be carefull i was lucky i got the battery out and chucked a heap of water in there. chris
  14. hmmm thats good to know simon. the last 2 days i have had this annoying problem were on petrol the car drives perfect. but put it on gas the second you hit 4k rpm the car feels like you have hit a wall. it was driving me insane. and then by accident when the car was idling i noticed the boost gage said 0 and i thought to my self shouldn't that be like -50 gazzilon cm3. turned out there was a broken vacume hose that went to the boost sensor. now my boost sensor works perfect and the gas works 10x better then b4 since the gas comuter/ converter were all tee'd into the same lot of vacume hoses on gas it builds booost soo much faster now. so happy it only took me 5 hourse after work looking and checking the wrong things lol. regards chris
  15. a) How is the power restricted by the legalities of the gas tank? Gas flow? too my limited knoledge a SINGLE LEGAL TANK is limited to about 300kw. as any more flow and the tank lock off valves think the tank has ruptured and automaticly shut the thing down b) How much timing advance did the motor seem to be able to take throughout the rev range? I assume this is controlled by the Power FC alone? id imagaion it would be able to take alot more but as my car is dual fueled its limited to an aggressive tune for bp ultimate 98 c) What does the LPG dyno run look like? A/F ratios? i'll try put them on when i get a chance to scan them. they are practicaly the same as the petrol just slightly more fuely and a little less tidy because of the gas set up being a tiny tiny bit delayed to the petrol ecu. d) Any issue with cold starts? Does it start on petrol then change over to LPG automatically? no issues with cold starts as it starts on petrol and flicks to gas once the water temp is 30+ deg, the change over is slightly staged as in it turns 1 gas injector on and turns 1 petrol injector off at a time. e) Any other mods to the car? not much yet only jic coil overs (rediculasly hard (they came on the car)) camber adjusters. soon my stereo will go in and the battery will be boot mounted. therefore all the gas shite can be mounted were the battery was, then a front facing plenum, fmic and highflow. f) Do you get the same boost response/lag from LPG as petrol? every thing is identical, if your sitting at idle and put it straight to WOT it has a slight hesitation as the gas computer doesnt like it. but apparently prins is bringing out a new MAP attachment which should stop that. g) 14 PSI Boost is that about the limit for the stock turbo on the Neo? yeah i heard its a bit high, if it pops it will force me into high flowing it. dont worry bout the questions, i wouldnt have posted it if i wasnt gonna answer them lol i love being able to drive my turbo skyline for 700 odd k's with out seeing a servo. and the oil is soooo much cleaner. check out http://www.profire.com.au/ Brad the owner who is a legend has a R33 which runs his OWN ecu which he has designed. that runs dedicated gas. awsome bloke extremely helpfull he will be able to help any 1 and point you in the right direction. regards chris barge
  16. hey mate i got a set on my r34gtt and it is simply terrible unless your driving on a road made from velvet. im actualy looking for some1 who sells replacement springs chris
  17. HHAHHAHA lets just say driver error struggling with going from 1st to 2nd so i just putted down in 3rd
  18. yep stock turbo ATM going a high flow once i can afford it. running 14psi yeah sorry i just realised that i didnt put the right dyno sheet up. i gotta scan the gas 1. but the gas 1 is vertualy the same just on a much hotter day. i got 370 k's out of a tank which was preeety good. i'll get you a photo, shortly the prins ecu piggy backs the power fc and cuts power to the petrol injectors alters the fuel map slightly. what i got done was do a realy aggressive tune on petrol which brings the gas tune preety good but not perfect. but none the less its preety damn good.
  19. HELLO EVERY BODY, just thought i would post some info on my r34 gtt four door that i converted to lpg injection. it runs a power fc, piggy backed by a prins gas ecu. which drives 6 gas injectors (hopefully 12 soon) i have a 50lt tank in the spare wheel well which gives me 370k's at 70c a lt @ 100+ octane. the only problem with gas (in a street car) is that a LEGAL gas tank is limited to about 300kw max. i have attached a pdf of my car when it was dynoed, it shows both the gas and ultimate 98 graphs as it is dual fueled, if it was dedicated gas it would be alot better. shane @ force fed gas in cockburn perth installed the system http://www.forcefedgas.com.au/. Great bloke great service, we both learnt alot from the install. since installing the set up i have done about 5-7000 klm's and would deffinitly spend the $5000 again esp since we get $3000 back from the government. regards chris drags07.pdf dyno.pdf
  20. ok sooo i didnt read most of the 1st post ....................... i just wanted to get on the band wagon. mmmmmmmmmm sr20 tvr. i think a 13bt would be more suited for such a small car
  21. What about this 64' TVR GRANTURA i know of a guy selling 1 its seen better days but its all there. same as this but blue http://people.zeelandnet.nl/serel/Unknown2.htm i all ways dreamed of putting a carbied 13b in it. but i just dont have 30k to do it right chris
  22. hey mitchy i saw ya LEGNUM and was thinking to my self "wow thats the first legnum i seen in real life" it has a completely diff sound hey, sounds good chris
  23. well went down last night.......... had a blast. i never realised there so many fast street cars in perth. i always considered my R34 a quick car but damnn there are some damn quick HSV's around. first time out i got a 14.7 after nearly stalling it off the line. 2nd 14.3 after droping tyer pressure to 20psi and giving it a bit more rev's 3rd no time didnt wanna drop into 2nd gear. so i just putted off down the track. 4th 13.9 @ 164kph with crappy reaction time after a tiny skiddy. 5th and 6th both 14.3 cheers heaps to chuckie who helped out with the tyer pressures and lending me his tools. 2915_0001.pdf
  24. soooo any 1 going tonight, I should be taking DURTY down to see how it runs on LPG. although i herd there might be 1 of the bike clubs going down. soo might not get in.
