fane - suss the forced induction performance section in the general board. this has some really good info... general suggestions are to set a power target - as this will dictate what mods you do. a full ECU upgrade is better in the long run if you want big upgrades and big power, but that's not for everyone. Putting a WA spin on it - a lot of people in the forced induction section write off the WOLF as an ecu, because there seems to be a shortage of capable wolf tuners in some parts of east AUS. However, there are a number of guys in WA who have had really good results with WOLFs...probably largely due to the fact that there is a guy in WA who is experienced at tuning them.. That's not an endorsement persae, just information to enable you to make an informed decision. there's a bulkload of info on here about the benefits and disadvantages of each ECU, so go looking and ye shall find(e).

best bet is to go ring a few panel and paint shops. I tried to get my guards attended to by a local wheel shop which was close to where I lived in floreat and claims to be expert in dealing with imports.... They pissed me off no end and charged me about $110 not to roll the guards... ..and in the process reaffirmed what I already suspected - about "wheels" shops.

yo, erik. go to Jaycar or Altronics in Perth. ask some qualified Nerds with access to electronics-hardware how to do it, and then make the leap of faith yourself.... but this is not like changing your oil. I suggest that no-one here who is going to be able to do this would have the time or the inclination to go ripping your laptop apart for you....

if you're serious - come along on sunday to the WA fixy-car thing. in the events section in WA. Someone will be happy to give you a lift. have a look at a few cars and talk to some people. the basic stuff is pretty straightforward....and a lot of people trat the same path to 300rwhp. only once you get beyond that do opinions on turbos, management etc get more complicated and more conflicting.....

there appears to be a "rule of thumb" that 12 psi is the peak for standard intercooler, and 14 psi is the peak for fmic on standard gtst-t ceramic turbs, in order to run with any degree of safety before something goes bang. that said, I am running 9 psi, and many others are running a lot less than the above quoted figures. Draw from that what you will. the difference in rwkw between 12 and 14 from gt25t seems to be very little, although there is a significant increase in torque. expect 250-300rwhp. I cbf working out what that is in rwkw. also, find the search button cause these sorts of questions have been asked a bazillion times before.
