Skyline gearboxs can be modded to handle power now, even with a transbrake, the other option is the VL turbo box as mentioned, personally for the cost of a trimatic coversion i'd rather consider a C4 if you didn't want to go with one of the Jatco's
Just get a manual valve body for the auto, more line pressure mean firmer shifts, less chance of slipping and they don't run an ecu.
More fun to drive as well

Lots of time at high rpm means the oil pump will overfill your rocker covers and catch can.
Also would be interested to know how much boost your running to acheive that figure, Mines not on full song till about 4400rpm with similar power.
BTW I have a CPC plenum as well, from what I hear response may be better with the longer runner plenums such as a plazmaman plenum. If I had my time again I would probably save my money and keep the std plenum.
Do you have an auto or manual,
As the car stays at high revs for a decent period of time at the track it sounds likely your oil pump is simply overfilling the rocker covers with oil and therefore its overflowing into the catch can,
To overcome this you'll need to pull the head off and fit oil restrictors to some of the oil feeds
I was thinking along the lines of more revs as well.
At the moment ive got all the bolt ons but the head is fairly std with valve float on anything over 7000rpm.
For a $900 upgrade it may make sense for me, who would be capable of doin the work?
Have heard of some people running the RB26 head set up in an Rb25 head and was just wondering where the best place was to find the parts and get this done.
My car has 480 rwhp.
I have heard that VL turbo gearboxes (very similar to r33 gearboxes) have weak 5th gears and when they have any sort of power put through them something fails and they become noisy and the shifter vibrates when in 5th.
I was just wondering if anyone could shed any light on this?
ferni when you say you've used 5th at full boost plenty of times, how much power were you putting through it? And has the gearbox lasted ie no vibrations
As the title says interested to know how 5th gear in an r33 holds up to boost, i was under the imprssion that its not supported and should be used for cruising only?
Yeh i run an aftermarket computer. My concern is that I have on the odd occasion noticed a very slight rattle on 25-26psi, running optimax
We cant get the optimax extreme hear yet unfortunately otherwise i would run it for sure.
How much timing roughly should an rb25 with gt3540 and 8.5:1 comp run on 25psi? At the moment its on about 20 degrees. it has std cams and cam gears.
Just wondering if anyone uses octane booster with optimax to get that little bit more timing into the tune & if so what brand and how does it compare to just normal optimax?
If the turbo and fuel system you currently have are up to the task of 400rwhp I don't see why having a higher boost setting for that power will make any difference to streetability.
