  1. i touched it today... still waiting for compliance plates!!! f**k im hanging to drive this thing! ill borrow some tradeplates so i can drive it up to winton this weekend hopefully!
  2. i polished my lips on these old 16s that i had.... im a metal fabricator but do know how to mirror polish steel aswell! i used a variable speed grinder, scrotch brite wheel then a sizel wheel with green rouge heres the results ^^ as you can see its mirror, but its not clear and crisp After ^^^ nice and crispy!!!
  3. anyone have or know where i can get any kind of 20inch 3 piece wheels? f**k ill even buy damaged ones??? or can anyone show me some sites that have good jap brand wheels but in 20 inch with low offsets? thanks guys trying to find new shoes for the m35
  4. hehe lemmie get it started first lol
  5. THANK YOU ASWELL.. now i know what im going to custom fab at work lol
  6. looks the good champ exactly the same kit as mine aero plus the wing! with the rims. did you have any other issues at all? cleared the brakes fine etc? trying to find some low offset rims myself atm im just going the space out the ones i have now thou:D
  7. valid points. although i still undecided in terms of al vs ss lol ahhh what to do what to do. !!! i have to try and get the 2 sets of twins happening. theres a pic of a m35 on speedhunters with 2 twins! there must be a way. probably some stupid setup lol like the crx's you see with "twin exhausts" and when its cold only 1 zaust has condensation coming from it ahhaha 245 thats f**kin awesome power!
  8. hey champ awesome work! i have to get around to do this. but im frikin scared to start taking the car apart. wouldnt even know where to begin to dis assemble the front! but yea i HAVE to do it! just out of curiosity, why did you stick with aluminium? all the custom cooler setups ive made for people i used s/s... from my knowledge, in terms of which is better. s/s takes longer to heat up and cools down quicker than al... and gets more hotter than s/s with less heat so the only thing i can think of UNLESS IM MISSING SOMETHING HUGE. is just weight? it never made sense to me why ppl kept using al... (not trying to say your silly for doing it) just am i missing something? also if your worried about holes in the pipe, i can get some dyepen from work.. its 2 cans and a 2step process.. spray the dye on the job, wait 15 mins.. wash it off. then you spray this penetrant and it bring sup any of the red dye of theres any pinholes! more than happy to get ya a couple of cans for the future, we got heaps of them, let me know if you want some! also since youve modded your exhaust... reckon theres room to rig up 2 sets of twins. 2 each side?
  9. ok... i think you didnt need to oil that filter. im pretty sure its a dry filter... the filter. goes on to the adaptor... the adaptor bolts on to the afm... you have to make sure you have the right adaptor. which means take your afm. go to autobarn or super cheap. get them to give you an adaptor to match. even if the holes on the adaptor are too far apart. you can always drill new ones. there should be a rubber o-ring on the face of the afm (if im correct) this should seal the air. of the bottom bolts of the afm are hard to reach. take out the rubber pipe that the afm is connected to. the one that goes to the turbo... i know that seems like "wtf" but sometimes you hafta do it. just for unbolting the afm. once you have the adaptor on the afm... bolt it on to the rubber intake pipe whilst its all out of the engine... then install the ruber intake pipe over the turbo... and then lastly force in the pod filter. as for the pod sitting on nothing. thats fine. if you want to brace it down.. connect 2 zipties together and ziptie it to the pipe underneath. (your going to use alot of zipties with this car, liek alot of ppl do) BUT its temporary... get a bracket made up. heck get some spare sheet metal n bend it up yourself... its easy just bolt it to the back of one of the bolts thats on the afm. and then to an existing hole on the car.. i hope i didnt confuse you. post up some pics. if your unsure. pics always help
  10. i was more talking about changing the plugs... looks like its going to be a f**kin pain!
  11. your not ON the money, but you pretty looking at it lol yep want quick and easy efficient shit. easy for me, easy for everyone. one of the things i f**king hated on my previous cars is, taking of the bolts for the exhaust. then having to reapply sealant n stuff.. screw that!
  12. rich, i have a bug, but its a v.i.p bug. im going to be turning the car in to as best i can, a very good example of a v.i.p car. i will keep you in the loop about the dump pipes. what size? 2.5? 3? ill be going a bit of a different way around it than usual. the only bolts that will be on the exhaust will be where it bolts to the turbo... ill pm you
  13. hahahahah nah its all good, i just have to remember this car is going to be a daily.cruiser. so the less performance mods i do the better!
  14. OMG OMG OMG OMG .................. DONT have a nismo ecu hahahah
  15. Ready for compliance!!! its clean finally, although i still havent polished and waxed it! there ya go dimi i spent all morning cleaning underneath the car... it almost looks brand new lol. i wish i took photos. maybe when were at compliance if they put it on the hoist. cbfed jacking it up! cant wait to get it back from compliance and actually drive it! oh and adjust the coilovers to all the way low lol!!! Jet im going to run outside now and have a look at the computer
  16. If only i was good with engines and mechanics, atm i look at my engine and am totally confused. its just as bad as looking at a japanese manual lol... all i am trained in is metal fabrication. so most of the shit on the car i can make (exhausts, piping, brackets) but like i said, im shyt at engine stuff so i can only stick to basic things. its so frustrating. alot of ppl know the mechanical thigns but cant fabricate. but im the opposite lol. just a never ending challenge trying to be someone who can do both lol lol when we start having meets, maybe someone who is good can give us lil tutorials? or someone maybe someone is generous enough to do a m35 service tutorial!
  17. Oh sweet thanks for the info on the optioned parts. dimi, the wheels are of a v35. i didnt like them at first but they do suit it sooo well for stock looking rims!... i reckon they need to come out about 10-15mm more! and it should sit awesome... atm the coilovers are set all the way to raised! so ive got about 20mm to drop them. it should sit reallllly good when i drop it, but ill drop it after compliance! the car sits stupidly low, in terms of everything underneath isnt far from the ground! so i was originally planning on putting 19's on the car but looks like il have to go bigger just to keep the car sitting higher! maybe even 21inch! ( lol id never thought id say i want 21's on my car ever!) Jetwreck- No i havent, where would the ecu be? im full noob with stageas.
  18. 1. Im glad you had a laugh at all the comments, "HAHAHA NOT FUNNY MOTHER f**kER" 2. you sound like a little cocky f**khead with that comment. you were still sucking on your mums juggs when some of the guys here had r33's, that being said we all have a fair idea on pricings of the cars. so it was fair to assume something was f**ked. 3. If you care to read the last 2 comments i put in bold... "Only going on what I've been told there " and " a qualified mechanic mate " its fair to say he is the person telling you what to do?... well he clearly has no f**king idea, what the f**k he is talking about. 4. Your still a douchebag 5. So is your qualified mechanic friend 6. LUCKILY... for you, theres still a chance to save yourself from being written off as a complete dickhead... Listen to what the ppl on this forum are saying... seriosly dont listen to your friend. the ppl on this forum speak from experience.... EVERY idea you have on a different way to mod your car... its been done... as for the clamp... the afm BOLTS on to the adaptor... then from the adaptor. you slide on the podfilter. but you need a clamp to "clamp on" the podfilter to the afm.. its the big silver ring with cuts in it that has a screw head at one end... just because your mate is a mechanic.. dosent mean he knows what he is talking about when it comes to these things. for a "qualified mechanic" to tell you to get a workshop to install your pod without the afm... is silly. unless your running and aftermarket ecu... even a 1st year apprentice wouldnt say that shit installing a podfilter is the first d.i.y everyone pretty much has done. dont be a fool that gets a workshop to install a podfilter. i know you have no idea like you said, but you made a good choice on jumping on the forums. the last thing i want to say is, take your car to a trackday or a skidpan day... im pretty sure you dont need to be over 18 to do so. and its definatley iny our best interest to be able to go somewhere, go nuts with your car and loose control of it... in a controlled environment. rather than on the street also another thing that pissed me off. is "the vl cooler that should fit in" i would tell you to go to justjap.com and get yourself a RETURN FLOW intercooler... but look on the forums first see of someone is sellingone.. if your cars a virgin. get a turnflow cooler. unlike normal intercooler kits, you dont need to drill any holes and its legal. going by how difficult it was for your mate to point you in the right direction of how to install a podfilter. id hate to see what he would do with a holesaw and your car... goodluck
  19. anything over 100thousand kms. is considerably high... australia is huge, we drive alot here. and its big stretches generally. i drive over 500kms to work everyweek... in japan. they dont drive much, and because its small and there isnt gigantic roads (apart from freeways) its alot more stop and start kms... which is the problem.. not the actual amount of kms. this going by someone i know very well who imports cars considering the price... f**kin awesome buy also im not sure how you got the car. wether you picked it or not. but if you want to double check up on the person who got you the car. and suss out if its allll legit. then if you give me the auction i.d i can get it checked! this assuming the guy who got you the car is also from nz.
  20. dimi, shall get some decent pics taken tomorrow! do all m35's come with the wing on the back? or is mine aftermarket? also i have the bose sparewheel sub box.. i know its and option, just wondering if its a common one?
  21. Cleaned up the engine bay tonight. and also started preping the car for a cut, clay, polish and wax s Still not sure wether to leave the cover on or off lol. what do most of the m35 owners do?
  22. hey guys im going to make this thread a thread about my ride and everything i do to it! so at 12:43 friday i got a call from my guy.. asking me where i was... at work i replied... "IVE GOT THE CAR ON MY TRUCK IM TAKING IT TO YOUR HOUSE NOW!" the next 4 hours were the LONGEST hours ever!... the car landed in melb on tuesday... but its here now!!! heres what i saw when i FIRST layed eyes on it!!! came with a "NISMO" booklet? must just be a random book... Found out what coilovers i have :D:D:D Rest of the log book etc... also found this, a photo of the ppl who previously owned it. im assuming its the dudes wife n kid hehe i reckon they did it on purpose... love thier style So far the things ive found Mini di.....AH f**k it... JUST WATCH THE VIDEO!!! CLICKITY CLICK CLICK NEEDS A WASH STILL HAS DIRT IN IT FROM THE BOAT RIDE HERE HAHA
  23. got a lil trick for you... get some 3inch pipe... not tube pipe. whatever scheduele... just make sure the inside diameter is 3inch... only need maybe 100mm then cut a slit ALLL the way through it. so not "around it"(like the brobo does) but down the side... and then cut 5mm of one side. i know im over complicating it lol. but what i mean is.. just cut 5mm of the circumference then slide this over your 3inch tube. put it in the vice. tighten up.. and nothing gets deformed ill pm this to you incase you dont go back on to this thread
