hey guys, so ive finally got enough mula to get my stagea work/tow slug happening now ive had a r32 GTR before and i LOVE LOVE LOVE RB26!!! HOWEVER... you cannot beat new technology... so my question to people who have driven or owned both... what should i go for? the m35 or the c34? if i get the m34 i have enough money to put a r34 front on (put aside 5 g's for that) although i dont know who can get the genuine masa kits in... anyway do i stick with the mighty rb26? or do i get with the times and go with new techology. now im not looking for huggeeee power n what not... not going to mod it much. as im buying a track car... over all. old vs new? which one thanks guys

couple of years ago i bought a r32 gtr from sydney of a member here. greek god or something it was cheap. i payed 15 grand for it. i looked under the car, and saw a crushed bit of the chasis rails (possibly where it had been jacked up wrong) i asked him he said he "has never jacked up the car" anyway i bought it back down to melb, ran in to some financial difficulties. rego ran out had to re register it get a roady i got a roadworthy, a very expensive one lol took it to vicroads, jsut to get the guy there to tell me he wont let it pass the inspection... had to get another roady from somewhere else.. so i put it up for sale, some of you might remember... in my eyes the car was perfect. cept for 1 scratch. anyway this guy called up from interstate, an older fella. wanted a nice car again. very nice dude. he asked if he could get the car checked. i said yep no worries to my amazement. "it was one of the worst examples of a GTR" the inspector had seen. the guy who was interested in my car, obviously didnt buy it. another member on the forum, bought that car off me, but before he did i told him exactly what he was getting himself in to, that there needed to be some extensive repairs. engine was perfect driveline was perfect just the body itsself. nothing on the panel side, just the chasis/underneath i will definatly use these guys for the next car i buy! DEFINATLY WORTH IT

hi, if your going to try and weld alloy. you have to clean the f**k out of the weld area first. all alliminium comes with a protective layer... you need to get rid of this, some welders are so far advanced that they clean at the same time as they weld. but thats too technical here for a beginner alot of stuffing around with settings... get some scorth brite and rub the f**k out fo the parts you plan on welding, not all of it, just the joins and what not... then get some acetone and wipe it... also with your tungsten it shouldnt be pointed. must be a rounded tip at the end. once you strike the initial arc WAIT for the weld pool to form, like i mean WAIT. til its wet... and then im sure ull figure out the rest... make sue your touching your job somehow, and not jsut freestanding, when your welding freestanding the darkness from the helmet f**ks your visual balance up and ill start to kinda sway or rock slightly.. very difficult to weld use the correct PPE and take a breather, welding al is terrible for your "intake pipes' hahaha dont forget to post up pics of your work1

where are you going to get the welder from? honestly, theres not much danger with a tig, cant really "blow yourself up" or anything just you can burn yourself as per usual, and maybe a bit of a shock if its not eathed properly... theres a few thing you would need for a tig - the welder it self with all fittings... (its going to have to be an AC/DC welder.. which are f**k off expensive) - helmet - gas - tungstens - gloves... - plenty of steel!!! can i suggest getting some mild steel first, and just practicing welding on that..., i know its different welding steel and al... but your a fresh beginner. as for tutorials, maybe youtube? btw where are you? in melb? i might be able to give you a hand and point you in the right direction
