  1. remove wheel, cailper and disc get a hammer and bash out old stud then insert new. can be easy or can be a bitch my first one took about 2 hours..... do a search theres heaps on this
  2. from reading this post and a few of your others it seems you have no idea about how to drive a car, let alone a GTR. i suggest you sell it before you hit a pole, seriously.
  3. lol 400kw street car..... save yourself some dollars and just get a hiflow and shoot for 250kw will be more fun than a 400kw lag/no traction monster on the street. but if you got $$ to burn rb30 for sure!
  4. i have done this, i killed 3 rb20 boxes so i had no choice... you will need to modify the gearbox mounts, very easy if you can weld. all dowels and bolts line up. you will need rb25 slave tailshaft needs the yoke from an r33 welded on, costs about 200 i think. the biggest hassle is the speedo drive, search for a thread on this. i got my box for $1100 and i got it done for just under $1500 all up with shockproof oil too.
  5. if u need the drive shaft modified i got mine done at a place in keysbourgh think it was $110
  6. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nissan-Skyline-R31-...=item3a500db54c auto and manual are the same
  7. mate i got the exact same problem. tried all the stuff you have.... i just keep a close eye on the temperature and if if gets too hot when im in traffic i just give it some revs to get the water flowing... pretty lame but im to lazy to figure it out lol
  8. i have done this conversion and what i did was get the part number thats is in the DIY threads and bought a new one from nissan!
  9. relays are relays i have a mate who needed the same thing he just went to a pick a part and got some out of random nissans.
  10. no more talk about the stupid fan or shroud, this is not the issue i have tried all configurations and there is no difference. i also doubt its a bleeding problem, in my experience even without a bleed the air will eventually find its way out of the system as long as you keep coolant levels topped up. when i get some time ill reverse flush it with a hose.
  11. i was referring to the shroud.
  12. yeh interesting theory but im pretty sure theres only one size. i'm running the stock clutch fan and shroud with a 52mm radiator, this all has no effect anyway im not getting flow, even if the coolant in the radiator was 1 degree it wouldn't help as its not flowing through at idle.....
  13. r32's use a mechanical drive, mine broke once at the gearbox. you can get a new one from Nissan about $120 i think.
  14. do you get a printout of A/F ratio's or just a power figure?
  15. i'd be changing the cable mate.
  16. i doubt its the thermostat because the one that i have in there now is a shitty aftermarket one and it opens very early about 64 degree's then when i stop up up it goes then when moving back down to 64ish. when i swapped them i had just switched the car off then while it was still at operating temp i took the thermostat out and it was still open then began to close... so im pretty sure its not the thermostat, water pump, radiator or fan. if i hold it at 2000rpm the water will flow and the temps drop so to me it seems as though it can only be a restriction in the block/head? next im gonna try removing the thermostat and sticking a hose in there to try and flush the shit out then run the car without the thermostat for a while just to be sure!
  17. nope the old pump i pulled did the same thing and it was in good condition.
  18. yes i did have it on but im not using it on the new radiator, its irrelevant anyway the reason its overheating is because there is no flow through the radiator at idle and i have no idea whats causing it!! im thinking a pressure test on the cooling system is the next step?
  19. hey guys got a little overheating problem. so i put an rb25 in my r32 a few months ago and have had this problem since then, its fine on the freeway sits between 77-80, then when i am sitting at the lights it will slowly rise the most i have seen was 95 degrees... so first off i tried a bottle of mukout, the engine had been sitting around for a good year so i thought the galleries might need a clean out, no change. i have done the following and have not noticed a change. - new waterpump - thermostat - big 52mm alloy radiator - multiple flushes one observation i have made is if i leave the top hose off or look at the water in the radiator i get no water flow on idle, if i rev the engine it pours out and the water temp lowers. what causes this?? as far as bleeding goes i think i have done enough, would air in the system cause this overheating problem im having?
  20. well i didn't have smoke coming from the catch can.... and the smoke would disappear under acceleration.
  21. i had a fair amount of white smoking coming from my exhaust when i first put a new engine in, it took maybe 100kms of driving for it to stop....
  22. if its a cheap ebay one then thats standard, i'd also recommend not running them at all! i had one and it cracked so bad you could see straight through it to the ground!!
