hi, how do u know that it is leaning out high in the rev's is this on a dyno? i'd be checking the tuning as it may just be a matter of adding more fuel with whatever computer ur running.. also what sort of power you making? is 550cc injectors big enough for that much power? just some suggestions. also might be worth bumping up the base pressure on the reg to say 40psi if its not already?

that power wasn't with the standard turbo. its just the engine comes with the standard turbo cause im keeping the bigger one.

my current engine is up for sale to fund my bigger and badder engine. its got aprox 110k kms and serviced every 5000km or so comes with stock turbo, computer and loom. looking around $900 neg

there's a pretty good chance that its not the input shaft bearing then, they are a sealed bearing. what you have is most likely the bearing cage of one of the bearings in the sandwhich plate which holds the cluster of gears these 2 bearings are not sealed and use the gearbox oil to lubricate them. i've had this exact problem with 2 of my gearboxes.

octane is not measured in percentage is a rating number. also to get the full effect of a higher octane fuel u should get the timing adjusted accordingly usually advanced a degree or so. also with the ethanol content i wouldn't worry so much about the corrosion but more so the fact that ethanol leans out your a/f's only slightly but if an engine is tuned on the 'edge' then this could kill it.
