  1. The Headgasket will come apart when you will the head off so you have no choice but to replace it, but make sure you clean every scrap of the oem gasket before trying to put the new item on. Standard head bolts should always be replaced when the head is removed as the strech when torqued.
  2. Paul that would be Panasonic. http://www.panasonic.com.au/products/categ...m?objectID=2482
  3. Has it cracked a headgasket or been overheaten?
  4. Jsut remember to drain all the fluids otherwise its make a huge mess.
  5. Yep take the 45 minute drive and See Mark @ Godzilla
  6. Quick update, I havent had much spare time to be able to drive the car so have done a few laps around my area up and down the hills so done around 50km's so far so in total the rings have around 120km's on them so they should be clsoe to run in. Just took the car for a spin around the block.. OMFG!!! didnt go over 0.6bar and used about 35% throttle to hold it there but...............wow! I havent felt that feeling for 2 ½ years, pulls a hell of alot harder than the rb20 did on 17psi and 100% throttle only took it too 5000rpm but dam! was scary :D hope to get it on the dyno next weekend to setup the boost controller and adjsut the afr's a tad noticed they were sitting around the 12.8 - 13.3 mark. Its going to lag a bit makes positive pressure around 3700rpm and found 0.6bar around 4300rpm. Will keep updating as I enjoy it more and get some dyno time under its belt.
  7. Whats your Fuel pressure like? could be related to a dieing fuel pump also.
  8. Cheers Paul! Just have to Run her In and then see what a little Rb20 can do.
  9. Cheers! I decided it was best I hookup the Idle Control Valve afterall so Spent an hour or so yesterday doing up the 4 bolts that hold it onto the plenum, Should of done this before I put the oil filter and oil cooler adapter on the engine! Heres a lil pic of the fitting I fitted to the intake pipe just after the BOV and before the TB
  10. Yea I have two guages one in the factory position and one in the plate that goes where the oil filter normaly goes both read pretty much the same. Does the guage stay steady or does it pulse? how much oil did you put in the sump?
  11. I just finsihed rebuilding mine and oil pressure when cold sits up around 60 - 70psi measured on the HKS sandwich plate.
  12. Just took the car for a quick drive around the block, sounds strong.. nothing like a rb20 has the sound of a rb26! Oil pressure was solid 75 - 85psi, didnt look at the tacho or speedo once... was listening to al lthe clunks I had forgotten about! Hmm Coilovers feels alot different to the 05 Magna I have been driving for the last 2 ½ years! Onice I get the front bar back on and indicators I'll take it for a longer drive, I am thinking I will have to adjsut the clutch also it was a little rough/hard to go into gears.
  13. Heres a couple of pics of my 6BOOST twin scroll.
  14. Hmm Intresting... Not sure how to take that Roy. Would be keen to hear about your Rb20 stroker using a rb30 crank, can PM if you wish
  15. I havent had a chance today to take it for a drive but yesterday when I checked the oil pressure came up around 2000rpm was sitting around 75 - 85 PSI on the stock guage. I'll have to try wire my guages up tomorrow if I get a chance in between calls.
  16. I think the normal ones are just steel. I have to hookup my oil pressure guage this morning to see what oil pressure its doing at idle, should be around 80psi yes?
  17. *It's Alive!!!!* Be Warned the sound and picture quality is absolutely $hit in the below vid's. I am hopefully goign to take it for a drive tomorrow just aorund my street to check for leaks etc.
  18. You will also have to switch 2 of the injector wires around from memory its 4 & 6 on the ecu plug.
  19. Went the option of billet gears for the pump. Fitted up nicely I must say. Any idea how much oil a RB20 with external cooler should take? 7 ltrs seemed to be what got the level jsut above full allowing for the oil to fill the lines and cooler.
  20. Woo like a Fan spinning too quickly? Check yr radiator fan spins freely with the engine off and not bound up.
  21. Nothing much to update, Spent last Sunday putting the engine back in the car hat a mission it is to line the gearbox up with the engine! I wont be doing that again in the car. Today I was planning on getting it started etc so got all the wiring done, water and oil lines hooked up radiator and starter motor in... put 7 ltrs of oil in and started to fill the radiator and my feet were getting wet! Somehow I have lost the plastic bung out of the radiator I suspect one of the dogs as picked itup as a chew toy like they have done with the silicon tubes. So I am on the hunt to find a new/replacement bung for the ASI radiator, I have emailed ASI so hope I can get a replacement from them.
  22. I know that feeling, I went for a 80mm TB on my KU Engineering plenum. Was fun dialing in the idle the TB is almost 100% closed and idles at 1200rpm with no idle valve.
  23. No not a bad ECU Mines been running for years now without any dramas... RB20 but.
  24. I myself am alooking at switching to a VIPEC Plugin ecu for my build, I may just run it in on the Adaptronic then bugger it off for the ViPec
  25. Yea best to post on the forums for adaptronic, Andy or one of the boys with jump on it pretty quickly for you or even give them a call. Have you tried the map on their site for the rb25 that someone dyno tuned?
