  1. Are they the same as the Aussie Racing Cars that are a support category to the V8's? I remember them being a 1.3 Yamaha engine as well. Similar concept, half size replicas of V8 supercars.
  2. Kind of, i know you need to change the guards, to accommodate the wider bumper. Maybe the reo too to suit the FMIC hole.
  3. Try Nengun - there's an East Bear Lip for GTT's which is pretty much the same.
  4. I'm pretty sure the japanese 180km/h thing is legislation, as for other markets i'd assume as above.
  5. Concept is cool, Doesn't sound too healthy though!
  6. i'm sure someone will correct me here, as i've never owned a GTR (or looked inside a standard one), but i read somewhere Nissan were kind enough to mark the restrictor in the boost control line so it was easy to remove, thus returning the engine to it's intended power.
  7. The same goes with a skyline driver, only less midlife/girl and more 'backwards cap wearing, wacko, doof doof hoon' I wouldn't be too sure on that one, look at the values of 33 gtst's now, as compared to what they were five to six years ago. 34's will go the same way. In that timeframe a Z will still have a lot of value on it. Go the Z imo, 34's are tough, but it's not a match for a Z. Good performance from stock, it'll still hold value, and it will give you the peace of mind you'll never get from an import (genuine k's, service history, you can take it to ANY nissan dealer and get it serviced, rather than having to go to a select few workshops in major cities). Not to mention, they have a bit of menace about them to begin with.
  8. Is that an original GT40, or is it an RF40?
  9. Yep, but you could call it making the gallardo even MORE superleggera.
  10. 98% of the time, granny driver. But on the odd occasion, you know: empty, well lit road, no one around, fresh tank of fuel. it is fun to see how quick you can get to the speed limit.
  11. Contact RTA, Vicroads, whatever the WA equivalent is and they'll be able to tell you definitely. And what they say will be legit (not saying that people on here aren't), but 'a guy on the internet said it was okay' won't hold up so well when it's defect time.
  12. I like it. What say would Porsche have in it? I know they might lose a little bit from the Panamera, but well it's ugly so people would only buy it for the badge (refer to Cayenne). If it goes into production, i'd say it'd be more aimed at poaching 599 and 612 buyers from Ferrari (which the panamera might do to an extent too) That being said, i'd still buy the Lotus Evora
  13. It may be possible, but it wouldn't be like a 4L RB26. The 26 block is specifically braced and such to allow it to rev as highly as it does. When you do the 26/30 you lose that rev ability, thanks to the different block design. Putting a 4L block with a 26 head would be similar to what ford aus did with the boss V8, taking one of the best heads on the market (from the mustang) and bolting it to a block derived from heavy machinery that can't rev, effectively leaving the goodness of the head hamstrung.
  14. for that sort of power you're talking BIG money, so reliability shouldn't be too much of a factor, as you'll have to rebuild the entire thing. What do you plan on using the car for? If you're going to be spending massive coin, why not go for something a bit individual? I read of a TT LS3 R34 awhile back, putting out some huge numbers.
  15. Jealosy, maybe. But to be totally honest, if i had the money to buy a brand new porsche, i'd walk straight past the dealership and buy something else. Stigma aside, they just don't do it for me. There's something about porsches that just seems a bit clinical, probably stems from the fact that they're not real lookers. And before folk start posting pictures of GT2's and the like saying they're beautiful stop and think - do you want one because it's pretty, or because you know what it can do? When a car has known potential, it becomes desirable.
  16. try uras - they do some of their stuff in plastic kits. Uras.com.au

  18. searchorban. Powerplay imports do genuine east bear ones in both FRP and Carbon, but be prepared to pay for it, Carmate do them too, but i've been told questionable things about quality. Alternatively, if you just want the look, you could try taking your existing bootlid to a fibreglasser and get them to fill it so it sits flush.
  19. Who around here has a customised helmet design (paintwork i mean), how did you do it? What did you use? My new one arrived today, so now i get to figure out how and what to paint it with.
  20. for a collectors car like that thouogh, surely it'd be worth more with an original kit?
  21. You should have gotten one twelve months ago! As i pleasantly found out the other week, thanks to the new p-plate restrictions across the country the market value on an NA has actually gone up! (which is quite fortunate, seeing as i'm off my p's shortly, and i'll have time to sell up before the boatloads of NA's start coming over!) but yeah, i'd say 11-12k is about the ballpark.
  22. Cheap doesn't equal good with resprays, nothing ruins a nice looking car like a halfassed paintjob. Try DT panels in springvale, i've heard good things about them.
  23. Nice find dude! In all honesty, dyno tuning it with just a catback/filter is a waste of coin, as any tangible gains will be negligible. You're better off waiting until after you've done everything else on your list. If i were in your position, i'd put my money towards suspension mods and work on the handling side of things, rather than molesting what appears to be a pristine engine. Much as i love my NA, i'm aware that the power road for it it quite expensive and doesn't really go far. But living on the great ocean road, turning and stopping is where all the fun is! If you're really keen on more power, save your money and put it towards a 25/30 conversion.
