  1. Come on guys the Hume isnt "that" bad, besides its a highway not a mountain run Ive lost count of the times ive used it last year. I cant stress enough how important it is to know the usual hangouts for the HWP on that road if you plan on doing anything you shouldnt. Also if you're going off the whereis.com.au time frame from Melbourne to Sydney - ignore it, that trip can be safely done about 2 hours 15 mins less than it quotes if needed.
  2. lol, ok ok Shouldnt you be calling the tip for me soon?
  3. Oh, i see
  4. Oh fu(k the weather is going to be PERFECT for a trackday!!! EDIT: Shouldve refreshed the page first, good work Bobby
  5. Dont tell me you're going stroker now?!?! What happened to "2.6L till i die" or whatever it was
  6. Not sure, ill call the guys and post up If not, ill be at the next one on a Sunday. Ill be pulling a couple of all nighters to get it run in the same day i get it back, then off to a dyno tune the next day lol, what else are mates for?!
  7. Ah great, another GTR being built for hills. The ONLY reason i still have mine is the fun it can be on the right hills Ive done a lot (days and days worth) of thinking about what would be unbeatable up hill runs, here are my thoughts; -Full built RB2630 with stock crank, mild ported head, no bigger than 270deg cams, 2860-7's, -Full built RB2630 with stock crank, heavily ported head, 270deg huge lift cams, 2860-5's -Full built RB2630 with stock crank, mild ported head, 260deg cams with huge lift, R34 N1's Id imagine any of those would be uncatchable. To answer your question though, i would suggest 2860-5's instead of the -10's. There's plenty of street GTR's (2.6L) using the -5's and seeing some pretty great results. Ive been in a couple with the -5's and they haul ass in a big way. Yes the -10's will give you higher numbers but the thing is, if you're going after 500hp at the treads just for mountain runs there's no point having unrequired lag on your way to 500hp. Id be going; -Mild head porting -Tomei 260 10.8mm lift cams -Tomei buckets -Tomei springs -Stock exhaust manifolds port matched and ceramic coated -Tomei dumps ceramic coated -Ceramic coated front pipes (whatever brand, just good flowing) -Dash 5's -9.0:1 CR or higher plus all the usual shit
  8. As Bobby mentioned, they're usually good like that. Tomek which day are you looking at?
  9. Ill be able to say an accurate dyno figure very soon, get the car back in the next few days. Built 3L bottom, 270 cams, mild porting, ARC cooler, tomei dumps, hks exhaust, GTRS's on 2 bar. Only thing left to do is add another fuel pump (only got one 044 intank) so thats holding it back Ill be VERY suprised if it isnt making decent power @ 4000rpm. Gotta love the RB30
  10. So gets the Paul seal of approval?
  11. Dave ill take a set when you get them. RB26 of course. Ill send you the money over the next few weeks to take the stress off your bank account EDIT: Actually, 2 sets thanks.
  12. Hahaha, great number plate on the R32
  13. That stuff is all easy though, here's the REAL issues; -Will there be beers at the end? -Whats on the menu at the reception? -How many sweeping 2nd gear corners are on the road from pickup to dropoff? Hahaha, kidding
  14. Mines got all seats except the rear passenger behind the driver, I just dont fit without the seat all the way back Im near Hurstville, which is south Sydney. If you're trying to figure out what the petrol usage/cost for the cars would be I can only speak for my own of course - it would use at least 1/3 tank getting from home to the central coast, whatever from pickup to dropoff etc (averages about 18-20L per 100 not using the loud pedal much), then another 1/3 or so getting home
  15. lol im even excited to see what the results are You'll have a weapon on your hands by the end of this, no doubt about it
  16. Ok cool that would be good! Definatly sounds like it flows well. For reference mine had a 100% stock head except springs, on 21psi did 355kw atw with a 3L bottom. The on boost acceleration was just manic, id expect yours to be the same with the 2.8 kit. Now with cams, cam gears and porting id expect to see above 400 kw atw on the same boost on my r32. Regardless of that though the single is out and GTRS's are on, will run to 2 bar i think
  17. Do one of these in Sydney for us
  18. Agreed with John above, after being on that "track" its quite easy to get in trouble if you come off or have a spin regardless of talent levels. There's zero run off areas (ok yes you wont be carrying eastern creek like speed, but a hit is a hit) so if you come off its a safe bet that you're going to touch something that you would rather have not touched. A car like a GTR feels too big for that place, as in no room to stretch its legs, but when you remember thats not the point of the place it can be forgiven. One thing that suprised the hell out of me - its more expensive than Sutton Rd to hire. I questioned Gary and he hasnt been to Sutton Rd, which doesnt seem like the right thing to do before building a "not-quite-a-track" of your own with the vision of renting it out. From my position in the club its not something a car club like us would be interested in using over and over again when Sutton Rd is more cost effective, SO close, offers large wet and dry skidpans, full circuit backtrack, way too much parking, BBQ areas, source of 98 octane close by, accomodation and pub 10mins drive away etc. We'll probably use it once just to say we've offered it to members but i highly doubt we would use it more than twice, ever.
  19. Did you end up getting one? Forum sponsors have these quite cheap and as they're a high turnover part id expect most to have them in stock
  20. lol, you weren't who i was thinking of, but yeah just pile the girls ontop of each other in the back. They'll love it
  21. Got a white R32 GTR, will be happy to help out but there's a trackday being organised on the same day. If that doesnt eventuate ill help out. I know a guy with a silver R32 GTR who would probably be up for a Sunday cruise aswel but have to check with him of course. What sort of times are you talking here?
  22. Whats the CR? How ported is the head? As mentioned, thats a great number!
  23. That was a close one!
  24. If i have the car run in by that sunday one ill be there for sure
