There is a slight section that needs to be filled up, have a look at the old pump compared to the n1 pump, one of the bolt holes is an oval'ish' shape Compare the 2, it will make sense

Say the motor costs 25k, and the dry sump is 5k, thats 20% - i wouldnt call a 20% difference peanuts He may be trying to do it on the cheap (which i know, i know, wont last etc)
