  2. ey dude, my car had the same setup on it wen i bought it, blitz pipe and valve down to stock cooler. try opening the valve up and cutting the spring inside down a bit. do little bits at a time till your screw will make it chatter all the time screwed in and release when screwed out. keep in mind with future plans on your car that more boost will make the valve release easiier! hope that makes sence and helps! brett
  3. really depends on the dyno too, mate of mine dynod his 12a turbo rx2 maxda on 2 seperate dynos within a week of eachother, one came up at 177rkwk, the other 191rwkw without changing anything on car. 200 at wheels seems pretty good. mines got same mods as above and made 186kw on 11psi
  4. hahahaha yeeah nice example! thinkin its prob not worth it, have heard if you get a cluey cop they will take photos under toys car and hand it onto epa. as for the open/closable pipe i have heard of it being done using a gate and allen key open close system, buggered if i know how it works tho! thanks for the info guys, appriciate it brett
  5. hey man i got a grey pair in my 33 and love em. seem to be just as good as anything more expensive and are grouse round a race track, holds ya in nicely! for 400 bucks they definetly a goer! cheers brett
  6. yeah look it should be fine with bugger all pods. if your worried go do a dyno power run and ask for a graph sheet with ratios. will prob cost you under $100 and will tell you how much your car is makin while ya at it. mate of mine thats head mechanic at speedwell performance in melb was sayin a place in melb called dr drift can remap the standard computer in r33's with a custom program for around $250! couple of options for ya!

  9. yeah im just runnin standard turbo for the moment and was just gunna make a seperator plate or sumthin. if being driven slow is there any reason a smart cop would be able to pick it? or ya reakon just ditch the idea till i get bigger turbo?
  10. yeah dude will prob be your coil packs, wen it rains air gets bit colder and will mis-fire and carry on cause spark is escaping. try pullin coil packs off and wrapping some heat resistent electrical tape round em, if that helps it time for a new set of spit fires coils! cheers
  11. hey all, just wondering if anyone runs a screamer pipe on a road car and if so how much cop trouble do you get with it? my car is only a weekend driver and doesnt get driven hard when there is a chance of being pulled up. thinkin bout custom making a front pipe with screamer and just wanted to see what other peoples opinions are about em on a road car! cheers cheers! brett
  12. yeah thinkin ill go with sumthin along those lines. got free use of a dyno and tuning software so should be pretty affordable. was just thinkinh bout this turbo cause its so cheap! been looking into the emanages a bit and they seem like a pretty good thing for the money they are worth...

Hey all, just need some advice on wat to do to my car next... been offered a couple of items at really good prices and not sure which one to go with... been offered a new t04E for $400 and an e-manage ultimate for somewhere around $600. im on an apprentice wage so cant afford both. Tis a ser1 r33, car allready has boost controller, 100mm thick front mount, high flow cat and 3.5 back. hks intake and dynos at 187rwkw on 12psi. (ratios are fine). will be getting front pipe in next couple of weeks and dont know which of the other 2 options to go with next! or mabie should i be looking at somthing else mod wise next? cheers cheers! brett
  14. its pretty easy mate, if you pull 1 off you will see, its just got a series of plates and a plastic box (kinda) underneath. whem lookin at mine the hairline cracks were in the plastic bit. doesnt really matter where you tape up, as long as you can get em back on and bolted down. its really just a quick fix to find out if you need new coil packs!
  15. what boost? could be hitting fuel cut but im guessing you have allready thought of that... check the coils yourself, cracks are barely noticeable and will not show that they are stuffed wen doing a resistance test on them. if you pull em off you will see a series of plates, cracks occor in the plastic just below that, its caused by heat under that valley cover that comes on the 20's and 25's from the factory.... worth a try before spending much loved coin trying to diagnose the prob! hope it helps cheers
  16. simple fix, just pull the coil packs off and wrap some flame resistent electrical tape from the plates at the top down to the rubber that clicks onto the top of your plug. it will make sence wen you pull them off. obviestly this is a quick fix. new coils are the textbook way to rectify the problem.... hope that helps. brett

  18. if you have trouble getting onto a pfc, or if price is a struggle you could have a look at other ecus like the greedy e-manage. much cheaper, between 600-800. im looking at getting one, just trying to get a bit of feedback on them.... just another option for u
  19. ended up bein cracks in em, car runnin great at 13psi now. thanks for the help! cheers

  21. anyone know how to test coil packs on an r33? or what ohm reading should be between the pins? cheers guys..

  23. Just spoke to another dude, could it be coil pack?? if so how can i test if its stuffed or not?
  24. na got nothing tuning wise yet, just doin power runs to check boost and ratios. think it might be time for a computer lol..... anyone got any recomended computers? are PFC's still availiable anywhere? if not what are the new wolfs like? or e manage? thanks for the help too...
  25. yeah been told that for a start but i dont really understand how it could fix my problem, 10psi boost is 10psi boost as far as i know, correct me if im worng though.. also has anyone used one of the jaycar electronic boost controller kits? as for the fuel cut, i have been told by more than one person that would know that it wont hit fuel cut till at least 12psi minimum... as i say im only going by what i have been told by other people.
