  1. ill be in on that!! haha looks fantastic, love the leather, great stuff mate
  2. beerbaron - thanks mate the 240z project has been running for a few years now.. and has sorta taken then back seat recently because of the stagea and other commitments, which is a bit of a shame but it will be finished one day!!! haha
  3. 3intheBack - sure enough, there was a big pool of water at the bottom of the box haha, so thats all sorted yeah yellow is special but I know what you mean about the “volume” of the colour when it comes time to being inconspicuous got the blue slip (all went great) and the green slip yesterday, i walked into the RTA and everything was still going great, she gave me some plates etc, photocopied a few trillion sheets of paper.. then at one stage there was a slight pause, and she said in a "surprised" yet sarcastic voice "it looks like your car has been selected!", my first thought was "mad, what did i win" but it turns out i won a trip to the pits for a complete number check etc to make sure nothing is rebirthing.. but thats not why im annoyed (because i know the car is legit) im annoyed because yesterday was Monday and she booked it in for Friday! i asked "can i drive it between now and then?" and she said "yes!... *5 second pause*... to the pits at Carrington." then took the plates away .. so, the stagea looks very pretty in the driveway one thing i want to get sorted out this week is the different size tyres, im obviously keen to get them all to the same rolling diameter.. ill have some new pics up soon cheers
  4. that sounds great
  5. hmm i just checked, they are 235/35 and 265/35 that makes things interesting beastien- sounds good mate
  6. thats a interesting one did you try priming the cyl's in your hand before installing?
  7. i hosed down the engine bay alittle bit, but i wouldn’t have thought that the coil packs would be the issue, i was more assuming vacuum lines or something box related.. but your probably right ill have to check it out in the morning, hopefully its something simple like that
  8. GoldZilla - thanks mate all 4 are the same diameter, same make etc the only differance is the width.. so it should be right WELL it didnt take long for things to go pear shaped i spent all day cleaning the car and just generally getting it ready for the slips tomorrow, all was great and i parked it in the drive way. it came time to put the bins out the front so i got in the stagea, drove it out the front ( so that i could get the bins out the front without hitting the car) as i drove it out the front i put the foot down alittle bit (as you do) the tacho reached around 3000-3500 and it started to cut the power, it almost felt like a vicious rev limiter.. i experience something similar in a falcon when i put a new engine but i cant remember how i fixed it.. any idea's? any help would be great
  9. yokotas13 - they are Australian made ROH 3 piece modena's, this is the only picture i have of them right now but ill get plenty more once they are on, weighing in at 6kg each from memory.. the only drama im having at the moment ( as Joe pointed out to me a little while ago) is that being a RS4 you are meant to have all wheels the same width, where these wheels are 18x8 and 18x9.. but on the same token i have spoken to other people who own GTR's and one stagea owner actually with a RS4 who run different widths and say that they have never had a problem.. if it dose prove to be a problem then ill get some new outer rim’s made up so they are all the same size. joe26f - haha yeah mate it has taken a while hey, pretty happy now but once its rego'd next week ill have to show you AlexCim - yup sure did buy it from Alex, i was very tempted to get the nismo wheels but didnt because i have had these modena's sitting in my garage for ages, so i thought i would save a few dollars and put the one's that i already have to use
  10. stasis - thanks mate, i have a few mods in mind but i just need to save for a little while before i do some more spending Duncan - YES thats awesome, so many targa cars on the road, my mate said "hey check out the skylines, probably heading to the targa tas.... holy shit theres a stagea with them!!" thats the best yokotas13 - yeah mate i have some great wheels ready to go on im just wanting to get through the slip's with the standard wheels Wildcat - hehe thanks i wouldnt say that im a yellow lover but i think its really suited
  11. yeah there is shitloads available on yahoo auctions, there’s a few different designs aswell, ill get a picture in the morning of the type i have oxford1327 - yeah im assuming that there will be some holes to fill etc.. ill get it checked out soon Mr RS4 - i must agree that the S1 look alot more aggressive then the S2 but its all personal preference i guess D3RV - cheers mate yeah i think the main thing i don’t like about the front bar is that it doesn’t have a very large mouth, there’s just a lot of body to it, and the body seems to go a fair way "in". its gonna be interesting to see how it goes with a front mount
  12. pixel8r - im already inlove and if i had a dollar for every strange look i got on the way home from melb, i recon i would have about... $16... hmm that wasnt as dramatic as i planned Ska - thanks mate its growing on me too, the only thing im undecided on is the front bar.. but the more i go down to the garage to have a look ( every 5 minutes or so) the more i like it
  13. i spoke to shannons and justcar, both said that they wouldnt touch it (not even 3rd party) untill it had rego, even after i explained i have organised a UVP with Vicroads. bastards
  14. Oxford1327 - ah mate im very pleased. Things will be MUCH better when its registered! So amazingly tempting to take it for a drive now, im literally itching for it!! Haha if I remove the wing then ill leave it smooth.. im just very interested to see how it will look with the big kit and no wing.. should be done within a few weeks so ill PM you when the wing is sitting in my room if you want Hahah that's a new one about the wasps! Ill have to keep a bug-catcher on the back seat cheers for the compliment mate edit: almost forgot to say, the rear pillar covers are DAYZ covers, i can get a closer picture of them if you want. im pretty happy with them at the moment so they wont be going anywhere sorry bud
  15. this is the only stagea i have ever driven, Joe took me for a drive in his S2 a while ago just to give me a idea, I have driven a R34, 2 R33’s and a R32 but this is the first stagea. i flew down to Melbourne about 2 months ago when i first decided i was going to buy it just to have a look and whatever, took it for 2 test drives around the block and it seemed pretty good - i was happy with it at that stage, but just taking it for 10 hours straight trying all sorts of things with it, it was just so keen to go and go, so responsive and tight i got it from a suburb in Melbourne, about 10 minutes away from the Tullamarine (spelling?) airport yes it has standard boost and the solenoid is untouched that’s for me to know i did about 3 months of shopping around before deciding on this car. for what the car is, and the price i paid its a great car
  16. cheers guys RBNT - yeah i had the same thoughts about living with the yellow, especially with the big body kit but im pretty happy with it the paint is in really good condition ( from what i could tell with a 1inch thick layer of bugs and dirt). lots of little things to fix on it like some cracks in the rear bar, drivers window doesn't go down either.. leetom - yeah your right, im itching to put the modena's on now but i figured that i just bought some brand new tyres for the standard wheels i might as well leave them on for the slips, but as soon as thats all done the new wheels are going straight on! im also very keen on getting the front windows tinted. GorGasm - cheers mate MrGTST - yeah the kit is massive the side skirts are almost like a step when you exit the car :-P there are some slight fractures around the place that i wouldn't mind getting fixed and reinforced.. i wouldn't mind getting a more open front bar.. also im going to look at removing the rear wing the car has come with some pretty cool things. it has a HKS silent series exhaust ( cat back), carbon fiber (look-a-like) mirror covers + pillar covers, some strange wheel flair add ons ( haven't seen them before) and the massive kit.. also has a aftermarket earthling kit in the engine bay which is kinda confusing, it doesn't look like a brand kit, just looks like the previous owner liked yellow wires better than black :|. it has cloth interior with the touch screen setup, all in all im pretty happy with it AMAZING car to drive, well and truly exceeded expectations for the drive home.
  17. hey everyone hows it going? i hope this is the right section to post in yesterday i paid off the owing amount on my stagea and drove it home! (melb to newcastle) heres some pics from the drive, its very very dirty lots of little things need to be done ( err such as rego) but its all falling into place now :-) after blueslip and pinkslip is done on monday ill be putting on my 3 piece ROH Modena's straight away let me know what you think
  18. i highly recommend driving back. i just did it yesterday actually with my new stagea ( Melbourne to Newcastle) all you need to do is call up VICRoads and organize a UVP (unrego'd vehicles pass, and its recognized by all states) its a great drive, took about 10 hours all up and that was with 3 petrol stops, dinner stop and switching driving every half tank. great fun and most of the roads are really smooth. edit: about insurance, no company will insure a unrego'd vehicles - reguardless of age .
  19. next week ill be going to pick up and drive home the stagea, so i have been reading up on the links you sent me, does it matter if the car has never been registered in australia before? also, id be looking at getting some insuance on the car for the trip home - same deal, does it matter if the car hasnt been registered before? cheers yeah mate its getting exciting
  20. ahhhhh wish i saw this about 4 weeks ago, looks ace :'-(
  21. wow very helpful cheers mate ill get onto calling VICroads tomorrow about it all
  22. ahhh this is kinda embarrassing.. cheers for the reply's guys, i refreshed the page just after i got off the phone with NIZMO err basically i told John at NIZMO my situation, he did the check and it worked fine for him, so he emailed me the link he used which is the same link i put up in the first place.. and i sorta realized that there are 2 "O"'s in the VIN number.. originally i entered them as the letter O rather then the number 0... so... yeah *blush* whoops But theres nothing like being 110% sure!!! .. or at least thats what im telling myself thanks again guys
  23. hey guys hows it going? i have recently put a deposit down on a stagea located in melbourne, it has never been registered in australia and was only imported fairly recently. to cut a long-ish story short, my deposit on the car paid for the compliance, so i have recently had all the compliance papers, new VIN number and the purple plate sent to me in the mail ( which i revieved in the mail yesterday actually). all work was done at NIZMO in QLD, anyway here is my story the car is located in Melbourne, so i went to the RTA(NSW) today to find out what my options are for getting the car to Newcastle (preferably drive with a day pass) but the guy explained that if it was from NSW to VIC then it would be no worries, but as its VIC to NSW then i would have to get a pink slip etc from down there, talk to VIC roads then get the pass. then he went on to question me about if the car is on RAW's or not. i couldn’t answer because this car hasn’t been registered in Australia before so it hasn’t got a "plate number", i only have the old and new VIN number, so after this guy from the RTA scared me by saying "yeah about 7 out of 10 people we get in here with imports have been jibbed and they aren’t on RAWS which means you can never register it on Australia" for the last hour or so i have been calling up a thousand different numbers, being put onto different switch boards, forwarded onto different operators then it finally ended with me being passed on to a answering machine. i have gone through all the papers i have and basically i have the purple compliance plate, the new VIN number plate that needs to be reverted on, a "consumer information notice" which has such information as " This vehicle complies with the Motor Vehicle Standards Act 1989 and is fitted with a used import plate under the Registered Automotive Workshop Scheme (RAWS) administered by the Federal Department of Transport and Regional Services" then the paper work goes on explaining what was done, then vehicle specifications, workshop name and details etc, then on the other side of the page it goes on in more detail as to what was done at the compliance workshop ( with signatures etc) the next 2 sheets are the "Vehicle Import Approval" information, all information matches up to everything else i have, and thats all i have. once again i have been trying furiously to find if the car is on RAWS because i don’t want to get into the nightmare of paying off the car just to rock up to get the blue slip done and the mechanic say "err, i got some bad news for you". i have found this link http://raws.dotars.gov.au/rawswebpublic/RAWPubVehSearch.asp but it doesn’t have a plate number because it hasn’t been registered in Australia before, and when i only enter the VIN number and leave the plate number field empty it comes up with "There are no records matching the search criteria." any help would be much much appreciated, cheers
  24. hey everyone, just wondering what the actual xenon unit looks like? i have no idea and have done a search but cant find any pictures.. apparently its larger than "normal" cheers
  25. ah cheers mate, i did a search of the stagea forum but i guess it would have been a smarter thing to broaden the search haha thanks mate ill have a read
