  1. On at least one of the days I'll be wearing my RB26 shirt if weather allows - me and a million other habibs. I'm also packing my Nismo Cap - because 12yr old fan boy.
  2. Might catch you there - Maybe I should wear a name tag.... Can't remember if I asked this. Is there any drinking at WTAC? I assume there is no BYO. think I recall someone saying something about a bar? I assume that price gouging comes as standard? Not looking to get hammered, but not opposed to a few bevvies.
  3. If you're specifically "in" Wodonga then none of those might be a good choice as they're all in Albury - La Maisons is on the causeway between the two towns though. In Wodonga you can try Cafe Grove in High Street or Cafe Elmwood on Beechworth Road. If you go to La Maison's and Wasim is there, looks like a younger plumper Sylvester Stallone, tell him I said Hi and to look after you.
  4. American's cannot do GT-Rs. Leave it to the Japs and Aussies. I'm not racist, but there I said it.
  5. Heaps of places to eat, but the 3 I listed are places you're going to want to sit down and order something decent, all of which are easily accessed from the highway and easy to get back to it. Glenrowan has a Maccas right on the highway, it's an hour south of Wodonga. Next Maccas is Yass which is a good few hours further North. Plnety of fast food places close to the highway exits here too. Just not sure how filthy you want to eat
  6. La Maison's on the causeway does a great breakfast with fresh local produce. Mr Benedict and The Paleo Cafe are also decent. What are you thinking?
  7. Just hit my local golf shop for a big cheap umbrella and a poncho. Come at me Sydney.
  8. Is there much cover at the track for spectators? I've never been. Bring an umbrella?
  9. That's pretty common knowledge I think, but only affects earlier models. Same as the bell housing issue I think.
  10. Thanks for this info, I'll pass it on to a mate of mine who is having/has had work done there just to make sure he checks everything himself. That's utterly appalling and is grounds for legal action, in terms of negligence.
  11. And quite a few dollars in purchase, service, repair and modification costs. Plus nostalgia in the sense that, for me, the R34 was 'the' car. It was attainable, but it was special. The same reason guys are still rebuilding SLR5000s
  12. The 70k examples tend to be very nice VSpec IIs or Nurs. Limited run and good condition will always command a premium in any model.
  13. Funny, because my heart says R34, it's my head that says consider the 35 because of how much better it is. Initially though, I'd be comparing higher priced VS2s, but after reconsidering that a nicely modded VS1 could be a winner as well, the price gap widens a fair bit. I will drive both when the time comes though and I expect prices to have moved around a bit too with the upcoming R36 (which just makes me think VW).
  14. I get what you're saying. A few of your comments start me on a different tangent too, in terms of R34 values. Yes the VS2 is closish to the 35 dollar wise, but I could always just buy a nice VS1 for less and then the gap is much bigger. But the black interior and carbon bonnet are so sexy and buying a late model non vspec to get the black interior means having to buy the front and rear aero. I realise the 34 is mechanically not hugely different to the 33. Looks and interior are very different though.
  15. Are you forking kidding me 0_0
  16. Surely you're not talking about a certain fabrications business that put more time into fabricating stories than parts?
  17. SHOW ME WHEN THEY ARE ON THE CAR
  18. - Kick him in the nuts anyway. - Film and upload to youtube. - Profit? See you there, I'll be the one squealing like a fangirl at all the big brakes.
  19. Are you attending this year? We should have a beer and go harass the teams in pits with questions about what the spirit of TA means to them. EDIT: Also pics of your car thanks.
  20. "Has run in the past". As in you cannot buy the current pieces which would be concepts/prototypes. I'm completely OK with that, if a TA allows businesses to conduct real world testing of prototype components and the good ones are up for sale down the track, awesome. That to me says more about the backers of the car and what they are in TA to achieve. I'm equally OK with a team/company/tuning shop wanting to showcase available parts or turn up and showcase their sheer skill and expertise in making a car go fast by any means, I think they both have an acceptable place in TA. Just because you don't want to make a part you developed for a car available to everyone, doesn't mean you shouldn't be proud to show off the skill and workmanship that went into it or the car itself.
  21. I think people may interpret the "spirit" differently. I don't think any guy off the street can go and "buy" the Cyber Evo's undertray/splitter combo off the shelf. To use your example, look at Tilton's front end. I'm sure you can buy it from them but it's hardly "off the shelf". Same goes for RE Amemiya's RX7, rear mounted cooler, wide body, hektik diffuser. The concept of being able to "buy" it is loose anyway, you can buy anything with enough money. If you mean off the shelf then a lot of former TA cars are also disqualified from running concept/prototype parts or making one off bits to suit the car - though technically you could still buy those parts with enough coin. I get what you're saying though, we were used to see stock bodied/lightly body modified cars running great tyres and suspension with huge power, but now people are getting into crazy aero, customising suspension and chassis geometry and the like in the search fo seconds and it's not something the average punter can do - which is why they have specific classes to address this.
  22. Thankfully you found this now and not at Turn 1.
  23. Like I said, fangirl etc.
