  1. Fair enough, I've never dumped a bar benching, only failed out towards the top, but with the pins set where they are, I think I'll be right as I don't have to go as far in an emergency.
  2. No comments on DL? Also, had a play with the safety bar heights last night for bench, one one setting it doesn't allow me to touch my chest, on the next setting down, I'm not sure Id be able to get out from under it if the bar was on it, I'm assuming that would be enough to stop be dying at least but maybe not without a cracked rib or 5.
  3. Despite back feeling average last night I did my session anyway and it feels a bit better today, and felt fine during as usual once it's fully warmed. Still working out my spacings etc and I would've liked my bench to be wider as it requires more core stability/leg stability to remain stable during bench. I added 5-6kg to the row because it's been very easy and still managed it though it was obviously that bit harder, more so on the sore part of my lower back. I had another go at deadlifting and after 3 sets did another 6 reps but video'd it to look at the lowering phase (thoughts?) http://youtu.be/CHhaB2WOTcA I mixed up the dips at bit too, I need a dipping belt it seems, I did a set of 8 and felt nothing so waited 10 secs and did another set of 8 and then put 4.5kg in my pockets and did a set of 10 and started to feel it by the 10th rep so I'll start adding weight to my dips and I'd say my chins soon enough also. Upper lats have recovered from initial shock of chins and I can get out my 3 sets of 8 without too much fuss now. I'll look to start adding squat weight too as I'm feeling more comfortable there now I have my heels up on a block.
  4. Well you'd better post your own pics like you said you were going to Bris...
  5. Further to my questions above, another member has contacted me explaining that he'd like a cage too so with that in mind, is there the possibility of a discount on the cage or freight if we order 2? Would they both fit on one pallet etc? He's currently waiting for pics from Roy, but if you have any now is a good time to throw some up.
  6. OK cool, thanks for your help so far. So to confirm, that cage comes as one piece fully welded and the only bolts are the ones used to fix it to the welded plates the car (are the plates meant to be welded for the backstays as well?). Also, do you do/know what the best option is for lowering the seat. My helmet sits too close to the roof at the moment. I can see ways to get it lower but wondered if you offered something off the shelf. Also, I assume it's most beneficial to TIG weld the plates in or is MIG sufficient for that weld?
  7. OK, is that painted also? And do you know, is cage padding a requirement on a half cage?
  8. So what's your equivalent product then? I was considering that cage with the two diagonals (assuming it adds head protection for both occupants in a roll). Then welding in some base plates to bolt too. That's 880 delivered and painted. What would your cage, painted and freighted cost and what work would I have to do when it gets here.
  9. Pardon my ignorance but which join is the slip join? Where the backstays join the main hoop?
  10. Which cage are you referring too Brad? The more I look the more expensive this cage gets. I didn't wanna drop 1000 on a 4 point half cage, seems a bit much. I liked the look of the AGI one a few other guys have them and are happy but I doubt they crash tested them, or is that the cage you're are referring too negatively.
  11. Spur of the moment vid. Sorry if you can't see everything. Is this semi ok for the lowering phase? This time I'm trying to bend at the hips first and clear knees before bending knees. Bar is touching thighs and shins up and down. This felt bit better back wise. http://youtu.be/CHhaB2WOTcA
  12. Shit I'm spoiled then, inside, carpet, temp controlled.
  13. Maybe something liike this? http://racequip.com/seatbeltsharnesses.html
  14. Brown Davis said 4 point with harness bar - $902 Freight "$100ish" He had no pics for me. I can see a lot of "bolt" in harnesses are also suitable for wrapping around the harness bar but can't get confirmation on which ones work that way. Does anyone have an issue with wrapping a harness? Could save $120 that way.
  15. This is what AGI had to say. Also Is there any big deal using a standard wrap around style harness rather than eye bolt style as the first pic shows the cage but with the eye bolts added which is a $120 option. Hi Dan, Thank you for your interest in our Bolt-in Roll Cage kits for the Nissan Silvia S13. We have a number of options depending on what level of competition you’re aiming at. See breakdown below for our 2012/13 CAMS approved Bolt-in Roll Cage kits for the S13 model. I have also attached some sample photos for your reference. Please note due to high demand at present (start of the racing season), lead time for a bolt-in kit is 2-3 weeks from time of ordering. Please advise if you’re competing before that date and we can look to have your cage ready in time so you don’t miss your first event. 16. I'm hoping so. This week I'm still adjusting to using my new gear then I can start to add weight to things.
  17. Got this from Bond. Dan Half cage with welded diagonal $670, Harness bar $150, Freight $135 If you intend to enter motorsport under CAMs please send your telephone number or phone us on 02.4587.9672
  18. Yeah I know, just shits me. I'm sitting up straight at work and not using the back rest like asked, not crossing my legs ever (when awake) as asked, doing the stupid TA activation exercises as asked, stretching, foam rolling, etc etc. Taken 2x 1 week breaks, no change. Might still go and see a Chrio just to rule that out, but every physio and Myo that's looked says structurally there's nothing obvious. At least it's not acutely painful when lifting
  19. I don't know how people exercise in the mornings. I find I've got far less strength and given I don't have much anyway it essentially means I'm wasting my time. That and It takes forever to warm up. Props for getting in and getting it done.
  20. Man, I am so confused. Had a good stretch last night watching the F1, foam roller, heat pack, the works. Back feels like crap today and I didn't do a lot on the weekend, maybe held some awkward poses while polishing Kate's car but otherwise nothing strenuous. FML
  21. It's already very light but if Monday shows no improvement I'll drop the weight to get it right as I'd like to make the move to DL it seems much more intense than the other forms.
  22. Yeah I just did deads with the weight I was using to RDL, definitely harder so that's good. I watched a Ripptoe video today which I think will help me, I had the order wrong as in when to break at the knees. I'll know tomorrow night if I'm on the right track.
  23. Ok cheers, I'll do some more hunting this week and see how I go.
