  4. any suggestions for the above post?
  5. let me explain a little better. obviously one would always want to make more power. im ready to take one extra step to achieve the magic 300rwkw. but its not like money is not an issue here otherwise i would be modifying a r34 gtr not a gtt. so 3 options i can think of: $1.5k for headgaskets to run more boost, but not sure if more boost would give me the extra 12rwkw as we already tried raising a few psi on the dyno and it didnt reciprocate. $2k+ for cams. proven method but then the car will need a PFC retune and adding cost of labour it would be close to $3k in total which is a big ask for me at the moment. an aftermarket intake plenum like this http://www.hypertune.net/ is around $2200 installed and would normally pick up 15rwkw, however i will need new intercooler pipes and also contemplate if i should do larger throttle body meanwhile. any suggestions? cheers
  6. an update on what i ended up getting. 3" Metalcat from ebay. on a dynojet dyno the car made 266rwkw with a 3inch cat-bypass pipe and 260rwkw with the 3" Metalcat. not bad for a local made cat i think. what do you think?
  7. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=143549 These guys have not responded to their customers (all of which have left deposit) for over 3 month. anyone who is thinking of dealing with them, watch out! Charles of JDMimports, hope you will get in touch with us soon and once (if ever) this gets sorted we will be more than happy to delete this post.
  8. A quick update on the tune. On CRD's dyno the car made 260rwkw @16psi and 288rwkw @19psi. boost above 19psi didnt give significant gains, thus 19psi is the peak efficient at the moment. that was achieved with no cams and stock internals. what would you do next to get to 300rwkw? mind you any further modifications are expensive i.e 1k for head gaskets(more boost) and 2k for cams.

  11. heres some pictures. does it look like its been highflowed?
  12. yes ceramic turbine wheel, but my gtt is a 98 model so maybe the turbo is from a later model.
  13. well, thats good news. i was going to sell it and get a slide highflow turbo, as i have a trust high mount manifold. whos a reliable turbo expert in sydney northshore?
  14. Pulled the factory turbo off my Gtt and found out it has metal compressor wheel instead of plastic. Is this factory item or has it been modified in Japan? How much can i get for it? (excellent condition from what i can see, car's done 68kkm) Cheers
  15. They had my $300 deposit since mid October. Disappeared ever since with no contacts and no explainations whatsoever.
  16. http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=178182 dumb dumb
  17. cams alone should see 5-10% more rwkw. and try at least 3.5inch exhaust.
  18. yeah cams and headgasket will be fitted in later stages as it will be expensive to open up the head, thats another reason im trying to find out a safe boost figure for the mean time.
  19. sorry i meant high-flowed turbo, but my car did make 220kw at the wheels before i changed it to the trust turbo. I know a reputable company like croydon would take good care of it and all. but everyone has different opinions on this matter. i just want a bit more assurance to see what other R34 owners experience were with aftermarket turbos. how does neo engine coping with high boost? if Neo RB25s can handle more than R33s (stock for stock) and etc. Cheers
  20. no worries mate i understand these are only "educated guesses" so in theory if the effciency zone is past 1.3 bar then it would be safe to run 1.3 bar boost on the standard engine? for there will be no excessive heat built up despite the massive amount of air generated? i do have 600cc injectors and tomei pump to support increased fuel.
  21. thanks paul are you able to calculate or estimate the "efficiency zone" for a trust t67-25g? specs of my kit: t67 25g, 10cm exhaust housing, 44mm tial. i just want to find out as much as possible before trialling high boost. cheers
  22. are you saying that 13psi on a gt40 gives less stress on the pistons than 13psi on the stock turbo? what about 1.3bar of boost on a gt3037? wouldnt that kill the stock NEO for sure?
  23. I got my custom fmic (600x300x70) done by Hypertune. had to cut the hole but perfect fit otherwise, no need to relocate battery or transcooler.
  24. One of the workshops I enquired reckons I should run no more than 0.8bar boost on the stock Neo. that would only give me around 230rwkw which you can easily achieve from the factory turbo. no much point for having a 500ps turbo then.
