  1. If its whoever hit the gtr's fault than it would be their insurance paying, that is if they had insurance.
  2. Eh and they had the cheek to say "What were Nissan thinking" about the 180km speed limiter when they obviously didn't do their home work to realise its GPS limited to race tracks in Japan. It would only be fare to do a time with a Aus release GTR. (fingers crossed IT doesn't have a 180km limiter)
  3. Did anyone stop to think that out of all the GTR's that have been sold thus far that there are going to be incompetent drivers and drivers who are not used to using a paddle shifter? Probably a lot of over excited over revved down changes and accidental downshifts in to first (does it allow you to?). I'd say considering its been used already to some degree in motor sport with out any or many issues thus far proves something. Until with out a shadow of doubt theres no glitches with the gearbox than I don't see why they should recall them or honour warranty's. Would probably work out cheaper to give new owners a track day to learn to drive them first lol
  4. Sorry if this as been posted elsewhere but Blitz you mentioned that some GTR's are about to be registered in Sydney. Any idea how much they will cost on road?
  5. Hey Nick just seen ur post, now I don't have to preach to u anymore u can do ur own research haha
  6. Exactly right!! Talk about setting a new bench mark, being able to excel in all disciplines and still be street driven NOW thats a car
  7. The character will come out in the modified examples which is what our scene is all about.
  8. Well I don't know what those journos are complaining about, they are there to pick faults in a car and the best they can come up with is "it has no character" well I guess as Skyline Man says cause its so perfect. I mean I think thats the idea of producing a new generation car isn't it? Just because Nissan can build a near perfect car for so cheap it makes super car brands look like rip offs. I guess the character in Lambo is it looks like every other Lambo same for Porsche and well Ferrari I guess if you want to spend the $$$ for their top line car than you won't find one that pushes the envelope.
  9. I wonder if those specs they mention are just speculative as surely nissan won't of released details as yet.
  10. Its funny you know the whole brand name thing, I was talking to my friends Grandfather the other week and he was telling me if I'd considered getting a Porsche instead of say a GTR. I wouldn't for the simple reason I hate the poser element of owning one, it just seems like snobbery and thats not why I buy the cars I do.
  11. Cheers mate, since initially reading 10.5psi I have been wondering what power it would make at 1.2bar or more with stockers. (edit before some smart arse comments) That is once modders crack the factory ecu
  12. The whooshing of the wind and the slight whine of the turbos at 1.2 bar of boost as you're approaching the wrong side of the "law" is simply addictive. Just wondering you say 1.2 bar but when I read the official specs it says the turbos deliver 10.5psi? 1.2 bar makes more sense but just want to know if you or anyone else can clarify. Btw good read
  13. Yeh I know why it weighs as much as it does, but the V-spec is going to weigh a little less due to probably a lack of what I mentioned previously. Basically what I'm trying to say is its a street car first and foremost so why worry about the weight if it can still hall arse. Hell even the European exotics aren't all that light. Let us know how the test drive goes Adam
  14. Exactly but its these same people who complain about the weight who wouldn't sacrifice leather, AC and stereo either not to mention sound deadening lol
  15. I'm sick and tired of hearing people go on and on about the weight of the new GTR. Its as simple as this, you want a super car you buy a GTR and if you want a race car than get the V-spec version.
  16. I think someone in Perth maybe trying to get approval also.
  17. Didn't they bother to give the engine a running in time?
  18. Yeh I read that in MOTOR mag as well, honestly I hope they have to retract that statement and get sued for every last cent they have. (If of course its incorrect)
  19. Absolute PORN. I like the V mount. I'm wondering what they can achieve with the standard 3.8Litre Not even the 1000hp+ previous GTR's are using titanium.
  20. Cool thing is, because they are hand built and small amount made each year than its like a current lambo or Ferrari where you don't question the year it was made its just the same vechile regardless. If you get what I'm saying haha Eg As in it comes out here in 08 and we get to import 07's
  21. Least they didn't use cores the size used on silvia's and and GTST's. Reckon the air intake could be a modifiable area lol
  22. yeh what is the deal with those 2 GTR's? were they just promo cars or what?
  23. Lets face it we won't truly know until they do come out here. Heres hoping they do come out 2 years from now and we can import them like you can the s15.
  24. Cheers Man. Damn hey, looks like it can handle 1000hp+ outa box. Just needs cams and bigger huffers plus supporting systems. Talk about Nissan over engineering
  25. Everyones talking about aftermarket this and that. With 475hp I'd like to see what it would make with even just 1 bar of boost and intake and exhaust restrictions removed which is the first port of call most people do with current GTR's. I think we may be pleasantly surprised. Its not to far off what the majority of moddifiers aim for in terms of power figures with current GTRs. Btw does anyone have a link to what kind of engine internals it has? The only thing I've read is plasma coated bores.
