How much more harsh is the ride in an R34 after fitting both front & rear H/D Sway Bars ? (whiteline)
-
Don't get me wrong. I don't want to crap on this idea. I want one ! I just want to make sure it's a fit & forget set-up I accept the fact that the brackets are strong enough to not bend, but as per my first sentence, I'm more concerned about the design of the mounting brackets and the possibility of them moving around over time causing wear to the paint / metal. I'll see if I can explain what I mean. In the pics you have posted up, it looks like the strut attatchment point would create a load that would cause the mounting brackets to turn ( which it looks like this has happened in the pics ? ). This might not be the case and if not, I'm interested in grabbing a kit. But if my concerns are justified, I would suggest a different style of mounting bracket that somehow braces itself so it can't be turned with the repeated opening & closing of the bonnet. Does that make sense ? Anyway, I'll be watching this thread for updates & you can consider me a part of the group buy pending results from the "guinea pig "

The kit looks OK but I have concerns about the mounting brackets moving around / coming loose. With the weight of a GTT bonnet and the force of those struts, I could see them moving and even bending in a short period of time. If the mounting brackets were of a better design ( so as to stop the above from happening ) I would be a lot more interested. I wish the guy making these kits was in Sydney so I could work with him to design something better. Anyway, I'm a quality whore so maybe I'm just too anal. There's also the small matter of what .:: GimpS-R34 ::. said.

Bride Rail For R34 Drivers Side
TokyoTaxi replied to TokyoTaxi's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I'm now using the seat belt bolt that came with this rail so you just have to use the factory seat belt bolt and get 1 nut & 1 washer to fasten it on to the rail. Price drop to $230 cause I'm in a good mood ( had a decent coffee this morning ). -
Definately interested pending pics Where's BK Customs located ?

R34 Gtt Jic Coil Overs
TokyoTaxi replied to yld34t's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Just to help out with a quick answer ( hope you don't mind Toby ). Yes, they are height adjustable. In the first pic you can see the remaining thread under the spring seat and lock nut if you want to go low. If I did'nt already have coilovers I would have grabbed these already. -

I saw a car very much like what you're describing yesterday at around 4:30pm driving north on the Princes Hwy Kirrawee. 1 person in the car with short, dark curly hair and big aviator style sunnies on. Can't be 100% on the plate, but the numbers / letters you mentioned are familiar ( I always read plates and try to figure out what they mean ). I'm sure that's no real help to you, but...........

I've spoken to many people about this over the years and the general consensus is Redline Shockproof Lightweight ( aka Smurfs Blood ) is the best option for RB20, RB25 and VL(T) boxes. I'm using smurfs blood in my car atm. I used Redline Shockproof in my R32 GTS-t before that ( but have not yet tried MT90 so I can't comment there. ) Both gearbox's were /are in brilliant condition and both crunch 2nd ( sometimes 3rd ) until well warmed so ........

18" 350z Anniversary Wheels & Tyres.
TokyoTaxi replied to TokyoTaxi's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
What's so special about the Anniversary rims ? One of the best looking wheels around ( and they just happen to be made by NISSAN ) and are hard to come by ( in any condition ). I know that a set of these were sold not long ago for $1800 with ~30% tyres. They never even made it onto a sales forum before getting snapped up. BTW, they got fitted to a blue Robnel Cobra and looked f*@ing hot on it ! Keep in mind that these are as close to new as you'll ever find and have near new decent rubber. Now, with that in mind, call NISSAN Spares and get the price on new ones. THEN, add the cost of decent rubber onto that. I think you'll be in for a bit of a shock. But if you don't feel they're worth the money, that's fine. You don't have to buy them. -

Will investigate posting options if there's any serious interstate interest. -
I’m putting these up for sale to fund other things I would “like” to do but if they don’t sell, I’m happy to keep them. So please refrain from offers. Most people will know that these wheels are VERY hard to find and EXTREMELY hard to find in this condition ! HISTORY: The 1st owner of these wheels drove his 07 model 350Z straight from the car lot to a wheel shop and traded them in on some 20's early 2008. I purchased them without tyres from the wheel shop 3 days later. A while later I put the tyres on and since then have done 1 trip down to VIC for the Nationals then they came off and have been off since ( except for 1 day for the pics below ). CONDITION: Wheels = PERFECT - Tyres = 95% New. WHEEL SPECS: FRONTS: 18" x 8" +30 Offset - REAR: 18" x 8.5" +33 Offset TYRE SPECS: FALKEN FK452's FRONTS: 255/35/18 - REARS: 275/35/18 WILL FIT: 350Z ( of course ), Almost all Skylines with 5 stud pattern & S15. LOCATION: Southern Sydney PRICE: $2,600.00 FIRM BONUS: Will throw in a set of Gorilla Wheel Lock nuts ( value $95 ) & chrome wheel nuts to suit. CONDITIONS: Will not seperate wheels / tyres at this point & local purchase ONLY ( will not ship or pack for shipping ).

Need Exhaust Advice For R34 Na
TokyoTaxi replied to The_Scroop's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Sounds mad ! I love it and by the thumbs up at the end I'm guessing you do too. And as everything settles in etc the sound should get even better Should sound good under load too. How's the sound from inside the car on the road ? -
Bride Rail For R34 Drivers Side
TokyoTaxi replied to TokyoTaxi's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Still got this. I now know that this rail will suit a Recaro Speed seat also. So it fits heaps of bottom mount seats -
See, here's the thing. AFAIK, R34 GTT ( RB25DET ) has a PULL type clutch. I'm almost certain that the R34 GT ( >V ) use the PUSH setup which would make them equal to R32 GT-R RB26DETT ( early ) and R33 GTSt RB25DET ( both are 250mm dia from memory ). If THAT is correct, it would be great ! That would also mean the rep for is Exedy wrong. Can't wait to put this one to bed !! It's been bugging me since I first looked under my car years ago

My Diff Install...
TokyoTaxi replied to joeyjoejoejuniorshabadoo's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I've never heard of a NISMO diff centre "being" noisy They're usually the quiet ones and then the ATS ones are a bit more noisy and then into the real klunkers like KAAZ etc. I would love to do the same since it transforms the car ( but there's a little matter of $'s ) -
Also, from what I understand, the GTV diff is the same viscous diff as a GTT so there's no point changing it ( IMO ) unless you can find a GTT diff with a aftermarket center. What does the S15 diff has inside it ? Same viscous setup as the GTT ? Also what's the diff ratio of an S15 ? So did I read somewhere that the GTT is the same housing & flanges as the R32 GT-R ? ( or was I imagining it )
-
Correct. The 25GTV has the 5 hole flanges on the drive shafts.
