  1. The issue is that the other cars run H4 bulbs for low beam. These are a twin filament bulb that works for both low and high beam. R33 Skylines run H1 bulbs in both low and high beam and these are single filament bulbs. This is the first car that I have had with H1 for low and high beams and I am not used to lack of light. I have two Mazda 626’s and I run 130W / 100W H4 for low beam and 100W high beams which makes very good light. I have been told that Skylines cannot cope with 100W H1 bulbs as they melt the reflectors - is this correct? I have run 100W or greater in every car that I have had for the last 30 years and I have never damaged a reflector.
  2. DOU33 I am lucky that Johnny Howard is helping to pay for them as I run them as company cars.
  3. I am starting to wonder what all of the fuss is about. I have a pair of silver babies, a R33 GTR V-Spec and a R33 GTS-T Series II and I appreciate each car for what it is. Apart from having the same basic body shell you could not get two cars that are so different to drive and own. The GTS-T is a perfect daily driver that is quick and responsive, handles well, stops well but can be a handful in the wet. The GTR does all of these things but to a higher level and generates grip levels that make it quicker in the wet than the GTS-T is in the dry (maybe the new set of Toyo Proxes T1R’s help as they are awesome tyres). My mates all run Porsches, BMWs and HSVs and when I bought a pair of Skylines they all stirred me heaps at the time. They have since changed their tune when I showed them that my GTS-T was just is quick as their show ponies and when I take the GTR out they only see my dust. If you drive a Skyline be proud of what you have as it is an expression of you.
  4. Hi, I am also from the Gong and I have been along to a few SAU cruises and had a good time. When you consider the number of Skylines around Wollongong these days we should be able to get together for a cruise.
  5. I am one of the lucky few who have a foot in each camp. I have a R33 GTR V-Spec in pristine condition that I use for my weekend toy. I also have a very nice R33 GTS-T Series II that I use as my daily driver. I love both of my Skylines with a passion (just ask the wife) and I appreciate each of them for what they are. They are two very different cars and I would never put a GTR wing or badge on my GTS-T because I am proud to own it as a GTS-T. And on the seventh day God created the Nissan Skyline and to own one is like nothing else.........
  6. I go through so much fuel that I should buy shares in Caltex! I live in Wollongong and work in Sydney a trip of 85 km each way. My R33 GTS-T Series II gets 10 l per 100 km when I take it very easy and this drops to 14 l per 100 km when the fun starts. My R33 GTR V-Spec gets 15 l per 100 km when I take it easy (which is very hard to do) and this drops to 18 l per 100 km when you start to have some fun. It is just the price you pay for driving a "Line".
  7. Silver Series II is the only way to go! I also got mine from Joel and he looked after me very well and I would recommend him to anyone who was in the market for a good Line at the right price. This is my ride

  9. I havn't been to a cruise yet and this one looks like being a big one. Count me in +1.
  10. The weak point in GTR's is the size of the sump. If you ever have the motor out of a GTR the first thing that you do is a conversion that increases the sump oil capacity by one litre and also replace the oil pick up. This stops the oil starvation problem that occurs when you are using the car's ability and cornering hard. Advan Performance Centre in Silverwater stock the parts required and do this conversion as a normal part of an engine upgrade.
  11. Can you please check this one for me: ECR33-106340 The model code is GGKBRTFR33VZAAALCA I do not know what the last letters stand for AALCA - can anyone shed some light on this?
  12. Thanks Fonkeymonkey for confirming the 4/95 build date. I purchased my baby from Unique Auto Sports as a 1995 V Spec. It has the V Spec badge on the bootlit and the usual V Spec components like the the fins on the rear diff housing. What is the difference between a V Spec and a V Spec N1? Thanks
  13. Here is a picture of the build plate did I quote the correct number?
  14. Could you please check this one for me? BCNR33 005581 Thanks
  15. Spotted GTR034 silver R33 GTR heading down the F6 to Wollongong this afternoon.
