  1. Also the waste gate opened properly at that boost which I could hear from the screamer so atleast I know it's working from their. Thinking of getting a propper electronic boost controller like an eboost2
  2. Ok well I wound the controller (which I will still dissconnect) back heaps, I assume they don't finally stop? Anyway it now boosts at .9 bar happily Will remove it and yet it when it gets hot again and see if their are any missfires.
  3. Mine was identical. Rough start, wouldn't hold idle untill u blip the throttle back up then it would hold but rough, sometimes misfiring got to I drivable when hot. As u can see I'm still chasing problems but that vac leak made a massive difference. I just heard mine, wiggled pipes untill I heard the slight suck/ hiss change, flipped the pipe over and woah massive split. I'm going to go through and replace most or all of my hoses, one a week kinda thing see if anything improves randomly. Weird tat our symptoms are identical, but if you find any other causes let me know so I can check mine but I'm gonna do a few more things suggested here
  4. Sir_rb Yeah screamer pipe is coming off, gonna be replaced with a bellmouth dump, Btw I'm not going anywhere ne'er redline, I'm making max boost at about 5500 rpm which can cut power or popping. Like I said I don't want to even hold max boost let along push on in rpm. Chris_82 Troll much? And kitto why is it not gonna last? I intend to get the thing set up properly, fuel seems to be sorted, spark many I still have some work, doggy screamer pipe aside I hope to have it running safely. I never give it a hard time, I may hit max boost once every now and then but when I do I want it to be safe.
  5. Kitto The fuel pump is a bosh 440 with grt injectors, also a z32 AFM and a nistune ecu Rolls chill man i will when i have a chance, and again i do have an aftermarket ecu, not a stock one. also i understand what your saying but it seems excessive. we shal see when i have time to remove the bleed valve.
  6. Well it seems to have a tendency to backfire or cutout/ missfire when it hits its high boost, which seems to be atm just over 1 bar but it dosnt feel safe holding it at this pressure due to the popping( not always ) also I don't seem to hear my screamer pipe now I think about it... More investigation tomorrow. I took some video of the gauge to see where it got to but u can't hear only of the backfiring or misfiring at top boost, what's actually setting my boost level ATM? The ecu/ Nistune? Fuel delivery? Turbo? I'm confused now, i can't see 16psi being standard? Also for reference my boost controller
  7. By cleaner boost I mean no stuttering no hesitation. So what would happen uni wound the thing all the way negative? Will it actually stop any boost? I just wanna run 1 bar
  8. Another 3 clicks no change, starting to think the boost controllers ornamental or stuck open?
  9. 5 clicks backward on the boost controller and still spiking above 1 bar. What's the best way to do this. Wind it all the way closed an work backwards? How many clicks should it be?
  10. Ok, well, I had a productive day today. Me and some mates were doing the clutch and got some new plugs to see if that was the problem. Before we did anything we tested the coilpacks and they all seemed to work properly. But when we were f**king about we found one of the vacume lines at the rear of the head to be split Very split. Luckelly we had a blown rb20 their so swapped it out. Not only did it get rid of the misfire, the starting issue and make everything smooth, when I drove it and hit boost it smashed streight past 1bar. Dunno what it hit but I have wound the manual boost controller back 2 clicks and it's still above 1 bar. I can only assume the old owner wound it up to compensate because before it only hit .9 bar as it was. Will be interesting to see how far back I have to wind it to go back to 1bar again. Turbo seems much happier. Even the flutter sounds different, mush deeper so it must be making much cleaner boost. Also in regards to the screamer pipe. Unbolted the bottom clamp when we took the gearbox out when we did the clutch. It fell on the floor! Shit welds shit piping which is bent and squashed pin holes in the welds and yeah slid into the turbo, probably not even the correct size so I'm. Ot supprised it has soot on the turbo side. Dump pipe looks better
  11. Just sent him an email. Top work. Does he do interiors or engin bays? Was his prices reasonable?
  12. Thanks mate will do today hopefully. Replaced by the looks of things, is the stock setup better or good enough to replace the new pipes? Can I feed it back into their somehow?
  13. Cool thanks for the advice. Will chat to Brenton. New turbo sounds like new money than I wanna spend atm, didn't even realise that a new turbo was a defect, how bout that
  14. Well I'm out of my depth, who do I talk to?
  15. Theirs no point I. Making a new topic. What can ya tell me about the TD05 turbo? Is it a good choice is it a bottom or top end turbo anything I should know or a thread I should be reading?
  16. Time to hit up a shop to make one. What should it cost and should it be stainless or will mild steel be all that's required
  17. Ah sorry so a bellmouth covers both, just picked that up. Being a td05 is it still going to be a custom job?
  18. Actually I gues it's just that pipe that needs remaking properly and plumbing into the dump? Also for now I assume, aslong as it dosnt leak at the outlet, that welding it into the dump will even be enought to make sure it dosnt move anywhere or come away from the turbo, atleast it will be legal for the time being
  19. I will quiry an exhaust place but what sonyou think is a fair price for a custom made dump and outlet do ya think?
  20. An I better of having a new dump and plumbed pipe made? Or bought whatever's easier? I prefer to have things done properly myself, I don't know much about the pipe work but gauging the last reactions I dont want something "falling off"
  21. Cool I'll get that done ASAP, where about does the bov stock pipe retun to? I assume just before the turbo? Am I looking for a blocked off inlet somewhere? Anyone got one for sale
  22. Yeah I think it was his weekender Sorry for the shite iPhone photos
