  1. You will want to get yourself a guage reading in psi otherwise if you are intent on trying to run 12psi you will quite possibly run more without realising. A cheap mechanical guage will be all you need. Id keep it to 10psi myself but either way
  2. He is refering to how much he can run without a better Intercooler. They all have factory intercoolers just arent particularly efficient at much more then standard boost, power.
  3. Generally speaking yes this is fine. But for people to say yeah it wont be a problem isnt entirely right. Some peoples turbo have let go at less then this its really luck of the draw. The cars arent new these days so your pushing factory items alot harder then they were intended to. At the end of the day 11 - 12 is generally safe enough but its not to say when you put it on 11 or 12 that it wont shit itself in the first week. Just a thought.
  4. Agreed any gains in response would simply be because of less piping needed to run a front mount intercooler. Power gains wouldnt be anything noticible. This is unless of course the standard item has become a retriction, you would have to be making some serious power before this happened. Money better spent on something like paul suggested cams, Engine management, Turbo, Fuel System ect ect.
  5. Well i committed to buy one of these coolers. So i will update this thread once i get installed. If it comes this week i will try and have that done by the end of the week. Stay tuned.

  10. Id talk to a tuner who is familiar with installing the E-Manage. If it isnt a big job as has been suggested they should know what needs to be done to make it compatible.

  14. Id stick to around 250rwkw if you would like the engine to last. Regular servicing and not thrashing it to death you should see it to be quite reliable. If you dont get forged rods, pistons and really make use of the power that turbo can make its pointless to have such a large turbo when you could have alot more responsive set up making the same power.

  16. You will make that easily i made 210rwkw with similiar set up on only 10psi with a similiar set up..
  17. Thats not to bad mate sounds like a nice set up you have there. Im hoping that the intercooler can support atleast 330rwhp because i know im not going to take it any further then that. I agree with you i do like the standard look of the engine bay piping. Doesnt put intercooler pipes in the way of things ect. Thanks for your input.
  18. Great help thankyou mate you have made making a decision alot easier. Do you have any reason to believe that the extra lenth "730mm" would be an issue with an install? I might have to pull the measuring tape out and figure it out on my car. If it should be fine then ill probably order the intercooler this weekend and with any luck get it installed later in the week.
  19. The seller has all positive feedback so im not to concerned about the risk more the suitability. I really want to stear clear of all the extra piping and having to cutt a hole, and was hoping to come up with an alternate solution. If i feel that it wouldnt be worth the hassle or risk then ill most likely go the rout your suggesting and get a generic kit. Appreciate your feedback paul, Dan
  20. Excellent thanks for the feedback mate.. Could you answer a few questions for me. Did you buy the cooler off the seller that im refering to or a different person? Where did you get the custom piping? What sort of power is the intercooler supporting? How does it feel in regards to lag compared to the standard system? Is the cooler you got a 2.5 or 3 inch inlet/outlet. Appreciate your help, Dan

  22. I have heard of the arc one.. but yeah also havnt been able to find it. I would pay extra if necessary though if i can avoid spending over a grand i will be happy.
  23. Hi Guys, I have decided i want to venture on with my car and get a bit more power out of it. Im currently making 280rwhp which is the limit of my arc sidemount intercooler. I however want an intercooler that can utilize the standard return pipes on my r33 gts-t efficiently. I was looking at this particular intercooler as its not overly big shouldnt be to laggy in theory and if it really is capable of handling the power it says then i wont have trouble handling 320 or so rwhp out of it. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Turbo-1Side-Interco...8QQcmdZViewItem Does anyone have any idea whether these intercoolers are any good as i was considering buying one and getting custom piping made to use the standard returns.   25. I believe it was just shy of 1400kg. Ive read 1370 and 1390kg before.
