    Rev Limiter

    Hi, I plan to have some rust removed on my car and don't want the panel shop to thrash my car. Does anyone have any good ideas on how to prevent this ? Like a rev limiter. I have stock ECU.

  5. What if its not to do with the SAFC ? Might be something else like fuel pump.
  6. +1 for O2 sesor, worked for me, I had the same problem with bad fuel economy and revs dropping, when I took the old one out, it was all smashed and boken. Fixed my problems.
  7. Might be an exhaust gasket leak, Mine has a leak and lost studs, has gradually loosing boost, noticalbly after 5k rpm. Its not going to be cheap for me to fix

  11. Nice ride do, I'm trying to get the same setup. Just need a SAFC and tune. How much power are you making there ? How much did the SAFC and tune cost ?
  12. Thanks guys, I can be patient for those prices. Lakeside has partially reopened for small track meets, Nose retrictions are in place and they test your car before you can drive. It needs a resurface, so I think it would be too bumpy to drift on, they are resurfacing soon, so maybe you can drift then.
  13. Hi Guys, Need advice on fixing the front bar and fog lights on me r33 series 2. I spun off at lakeside and just slowly connected the tyre wall. Theres no major damage. just the righe side front bar and right fog light assembly. Apart from fibre glassing and painting the front ba, I've smashed a fog light(which doesn't get used anyway), and I can only find the whole light assembly for $350 - 500 which is a bit steep. Or do I buy a aftermarket front bar and forget about the fog light assembly ? cause this would be the cheaper route. If so, do I leagally need indicators on the front of the bar ? Hope the pic works, what do you reckon I do ?
  14. Changed my O2 sesor and could't be happier, I get an extra 100kms out of a tank now, fuel economy is 10 - 10.5 L / 100 kms for stockish r33 gtst. When I pulled the old one out, the insides looked all broken, no wonder it wasn't working, car has done 110k which is fair enough.
  15. When mine developed a miss, I tried the taping trick, didn't work, re-taped - worked for 2 minites, so I've ordered some spitfires.
  16. I didn't know its illeagle to chuck a bigger turbo on. Thats not fair
  17. If they were copper/nickle spark plugs that you put in 10,000 kms ago, there time is probably up. Probably need some new spark plugs.
  18. Took my car to the mechanics because all the backfiring and stalling and he fixed up the carbon cannister. He said it was hooked up wrong and it was putting boost into the fuel tank. Don't know which the sphincter of the universe did that, probably thought it would improve the fuel pump or something. The mechanic said he has seen a few skylines hooked up wrong like that. Car doesn't stall or backfire now
  19. Might be the flux capacitor getting old, might need replacing ?
  20. Mine is leeking a little coolant from that area , I have to top it up every month, rate is starting to speed up so me thinks I better find my leak too !
  21. Seriously Modena, 600 in a r33 Gtst is impressive almost hard for me to believe . I get 500km when i drive normally and 380 or so when I'm floggin it. After doing exhaust, intercooler and manual boost controller I think i'm ready for a tune.
  22. I've tried BP ultimate and Vortex, but my r33 gtst doesn't like them, It stalls after you fill it up and I can't notice any power gains and I get worse fuel economy. Mine must be tuned for unleaded 91 or something because it has no problems on that juice.
