  1. As title says, What is your fuel of choice and why??
  2. You don't need to modify the control arms, only the tie rod ends. My mate machined the tie rod ends on the bench grinder to match the holes (close enough) to the s13 hubs. So you just need standard tie rod ends, unless you can find a better way to get a solution for the tie rod ends. When you say stock items do you mean r30 stuff or silvia stuff? Standard silvia struts do not fit in r30 shocker tunnels just so you know. You need to use coilovers unless you want to modify the standard silvia struts which wouldnt be worth it.
  3. I bought a set of s13 tie rod ends also, went to try and get them pressed into my r30 housings but pedders said no. The machining has worked out fine so id recommend it to anyone with patience with a bench grinder. yeah i used the adj camber tops but dont like em, i think the ones i have are a bit old and they are noisy as all hell. And yeah they dont allow for much adjsutment, im trying to find some standard fixed tops. so the 4 pots have the same fittings, good to know for the brake upgrade.
  4. Is a great write up by the way. It really is quite easy. How did you go with the brake lines for the gtst calipars? I found the s13 items have exactly the same fittings as the mr30 ones.
  5. I copied everything mr rsx84 did in his initial write up, i used all s13 hubs discs and calipars so its still 4 stud. Its all pretty straight forward, just a matter of taking old parts off and putting new ones on. When you come to have a look i can show you. I didn't do the 5 stud conversion just yet, just wanted to get coilovers in for now. Im gonna attack the rears before i do the fronts for the 5 stud because the fronts would be easy, its the rears i havent explored enough yet. But from all the work ive done on the car to date i know that nothing is impossible!! My mate 'machined' the tie rod ends on the bench grinder until they matched the s13 items. Hes pretty handy on the bench grinder, they fit snug and aren't loose. I thought of machining the hub side of it but then thought if i stuff the hubs im in trouble but if i stuff the tie rod ends they're easier to replace.
  6. I completed this conversion on the weekend, nice, easy and straight forward. Used all s13 parts.
  7. I know this is not the for sale section but i thought id post a link here were the proper audience for these parts are. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...p;#entry3084669

  9. What is the difference between vlsd and clsd?? whats an open whats a plate lsd? If i changed the centre wouldnt it be whatever i wanted to be? ie the diff housings are all the same?? i don't know too much about them.
  10. this is the diff i have http://www.datsport.com/R200_diff.html I didnt buy it from this guy i got it from a guy in ringwood, i know it says that it came out of a nissan limo, but is this the only car it came out in? Im interested in more history behind it, also if i made the right choice in r200.
  11. oooo thanks heaps for that, looks a treat!!
  12. ok, the car is an mr30. when i bought my diff, it came with the shafts that go into the diff but the bits that bolt up to the wheels had been cut off, so i took them to a cv shaft guy and he made me up some shafts. At the moment im only powering at 250rwhp but im lookin at around the 500rwhp mark, mainly using it for straight line dragging but will be lookin into track work in the future. sounds like im gonna need something stronger, z31 seems the way to go, IF i can find some.. im happy to do some sort of custom installation or make parts up if they will be stronger..
  13. Yes, the centres are interchangeable, to a point. I put a big post up on ozdat about R200 centre interchangeability. This one. That whole thread is probably a good read. This was a good read by the way..
  14. Where can i get bullet proof cv shafts made up? i've had three sets made up, the first two broke, and now this third set seems to be holding up but i wanna push more power and its one area of the car im not the happiest with.
  15. I know these diffs are not exactly easy to find and to find with input shafts its sometimes even harder, well thats in my experience anyway. Does anyone know of what input shafts can be used? say off the short nose r200's found on newer nissans? The diffs look exactly the same from the back and im pretty sure the gaskets are the same with same bolt patterns. Nissan dont change much when they're on a good thing. Im also guessing that the centres are interchangeable also? Anyone got any ideas?
  16. I fitted an rb30et to an mr30 with all standard manifolding, customised gearbox xmember and customised engine mounts. sump clears and so does the plenum. Its possible to make it fit if you wanna muck around for a couple of days.
  17. Im running a 32 gtr pump on mine, havent had a problem, went straight on, way cheaper then the rb30et ones, and i wouldnt even bother with the standard rb30e pump, looks the same but flows different. I have been told that all rb series blocks share the same water and oil pumps, but someone might have to verify that..
  18. Ive been reading on the silvia forums and they do the 5 stud conversion by using s14 hubs and r33 ball joints, has anyone here tried using these parts instead of s13 items?
  19. YEAR: 1984(11/83) MODEL: (M)R30 BODY TYPE: Sedan COLOUR: Red
  20. In near new condition. Leaves the front nice and low. They are heavy duty lowering springs from pedders. $100
  21. That helps heaps, i have the same problem with my rb30et with the 044 pump. makes perfect sense!!!
