    Drifting`

The regulars of NS are a good bunch of guys and girls, very organised, very helpful, and very knowledgable. Unfortunately its the n00bs on NS that have something to prove so are always at the root of attention seeking activites. In any case, if you want to get into legit drift practice days and comps check out www.vicdrift.com.au the boys that run it are members of these forums as well, so I'm sure they'd be glad to get you into it. Also check out insanedrifters, a bunch of guys that drift pretty good even though they lack in the looks department They've been at it since the street days, and now on the track as well. Top blokes to talk to if you wanna get into it... they're not sponsored heaps or loaded, they work on their own cars and have gotten good bit by bit. And lastly, come visit us at driftline (www.driftline.com.au) if you want help setting up your car, introductions to people who do it seriously, or generally to get a feel for what the community is like. There's usually someone around who's happy to talk to you (most likely an insanedrifter or a vicdrifter).

  5. too many flashbacks of having a badly gassed Aristo bootlid slamming shut with me in it.
  6. you people make stupid people look less stupid. that is all.
  7. yup got your PM about the date. I've already ordered your mag, I'll just hold onto it till I get your payment. oh and... 3/12 @ 7:42 am - Arrived at DHL facility, Tokyo, Japan. So it should be here either tomorrow or the day after.
  8. got PM and payment as did payments from sloazr33, uLa, 2630GTS and Ronin 09
  9. uhhh we're talkin about the corner indicators that sit next to the headlight... not the side repeaters.
  10. First 10 got picked up by DHL courier yesterday at 4 PM
  11. Club Skyline Vol 19 has a good writeup on V35 tuning from engine to suspension mods. I can get the back issue of this. The January Issue of RevSpeed has a writeup on VQ engine tuning, mostly Z33, but a lil bit on the V35 as well... you'll have to wait till this comes out at the shops. GT-R Magazine Vol 40 (2001 June I think) is dedicated to the V35... but its a back issue, and I can't get it. Also another back issue you can probably get off something like yahoo auctions is this one, Motorfan New Model News Flash Issue 284:
  12. there's also these books n dvd's for the fairlady z's... http://www.zcar-owners.net/club/zmagazine.htm there's also a new series like "Club Skyline" called "Only Z33 Fairlady Z" focussing on... well... Z33's Issues 1 n 2 are out now.
  13. am i the only person in australia with a stock standard ceffy?
  14. to crimp it onto the factory wires i'd have had to sit in the boot and f**k around. The speakers cost about $60, so the factory connectors weren't gonna really affect the quality. Using the factory connectors I could just plug and unplug em as I wished, and not have to mess around much in the boot.... plus I could also swap them into any other nissan made around the same time it all came down to a case of CBF.
  15. welcome... what's your name? what do you do? introduce yourself and your car, pics etc.
  16. lol the SAUVIC punters barely returned with their cars intact from NSW... and you want them to go to NZ?
  17. hehe driftmeister, I think I saw your car while driving around PJ once... my gf pointed it out and said "that's a nice GTR". little did she know. Mind you I was in some stupid proton at the time, so meh. malaysia rocks for japanese cars... they've even got official D1 and JGTC rounds... something australia's yet to see.
  18. I should start banning all these lancer drivers with their cheater yaw controls. anyways... pics n stuffs in the meantime please.
  19. rofl... you are already considered sooooo ghey if you have starcorps these days coz everyone knows what they are, how much they cost and where you got em from (if they don't have the same rims already), I wouldn't even wanna think how ragingly homosexual you'd be if you had COPIES of starcorps.
  20. hope the owner knows that he could have cleared his stock ones by just smashing out the orange glass inside the indicator for free. Sure it won't be 100% clear coz the bubble on the side will still be orange, but free > $300.
  21. there really isn't such a thing as a level 3 license anymore... but the new equivalent is basically the national racing license. In any case there's only two ways to bring in a "ex-drift" car: find something made in or before 1988, or bring one in as a race import (which means it can NEVER be road registered). Now from my experience, 99.9% of people who ask for an ex-drift track car or a street drift car don't have the necessary licensing needed to bring in a race import... and most often they want to road register the car too once it arrives. If you fall into either of these stereotypes, then unfortunately your only solution is to buy a 1988 or older car. So this means signing with an importer and waiting till a S13 or cefiro, which has been thrashed to an inch of its life by a japanese dude with no respect for his $1500 beater (with dori dori mods) comes up for sale Or you could buy an older R31, FC RX7 etc that's moderately well maintained then thrash it to an inch of its life yourself Just keep in mind you'll be competing with about 100 other aussies who have the same notion in their noggins. You are better off buying a car locally, and taking it to a workshop and having them set it up for you. If you're down in melbourne, come see us at Driftline (link) we get silvias, skylines etc traded in cheap pretty regularly, and we've converted em from scratch (from seam welding the chassis to setting up suspension to engine swaps). We've even got a couple of demo cars for sale if you can't wait
  22. yesum PM's sent to all
  23. hmm... would rather payment now... but just got the guys in tokyo to send down 5 vol 89's, a vol 109, a vol 56, a vol 80, a vol 21 and a vol 50. I think batches of 10 is the magic number, so those were the first 10 requests. I'll be sending PM's with payment details to all requests. Just the first 10 books will be recieved sooner than the others kleenbeats... I think the Club Skyline mags have a couple of issues that concentrate on V35's. I've got all of em at home, so I'll have a quick browse thru and tell you which ones are relevant. I know there was one they released just after the V35 was introduced and it was chockers with info on em. So far Mr Keets, Ronin 09 and kleenbeats miss out on the first shipment, but i'll get your books as soon as there's another batch of 10 ready to go. Interloper, SNISMO, sloazr33, uLa32, blue_leaf, and 2630GTS your books should have been bought today and will be sent in the next couple of days. blue_leaf I got you the 2 you were definite about, if you want the others, let me know and I'll add em to the next batch.
