you can drive on international plates if you have a permit. what do you call 200sx's and 300zx's? manufacturers like toyota/nissan are more protective of their family and entry level sedans (maxima/tiida or camry/corolla) which they sell by the hundreds. No import quantity will ever scratch that. Keep in mind that each RAW can only bring a total of 100 cars in a year per category. They make 10 times that in a week. They only get shitty when you start bringing in vans as campervans, or 15 year old imports that are as equally feature rich as their new cars etc and start cutting into their markets in a major way.

the only thing any GTR can aspire to be is slightly more expensive than another car of the same vintage. eg: KPGC10 GTR is more exxy than a 240Z a KPGC10 is nowhere near as collectible as a proper limited edition like a Falcon GT.

4200GT is the first of the proper maserati's. the ones before that weren't ferarri designed/built. the model after the 4200GT in 2007 was infinitely more boner inducing, but it's also infinitely more expensive. Either way if I play the cards right I should see about a 20k return on investment if I import it and sell without doin any mods. that's a lot more than my stocks are makin atm.

3200GT engine is a bag of dicks. My mate has one. 3200GT engine is the VG30 of the Ferrari world. Also less 3200GT's were made (that was when ferrari bought maserati) so oddly they're rarer and more exxy than the 4200GT. Yeah the guys who I deal with who import Ferrari's will start complying the 4200 in Dec. Been given the opportunity to bring one in as a compliance car (which means it could take up to 6 months to comply but meh). also... 4200GT with tail light conversion:

So I've been thinkin of buying a Maserati 4200GT later this year. They're cheap as chips in the UK, and you get a high revving Ferrari V8. Handles like shit when stock, but is tail happy and fun to drive as long as you get a manual with a gear stick and not a manual with paddles. Should have one landed in OZ for about 50K for an average quality one. That's poverty spec BMW/R34 GTR money for a Ferrari powered luxury cruiser.Spend another 20k to slam it on its arse and run some decent fitment wheels, maybe spend a little more and change the tail lights to the signature 3200GT ones and put in a 2007 Gransport front grille, bumpers and side skirts and instant panty dropper. Could easily flip it for 90 - 100K in a year or two. someone convince me this is a bad idea.
