  1. No the Japanese NEVER spend near infinite amounts of money on drag skylines. lol Well at least you admit JZ's make more power when fully worked in drag cars before they blow up. Doesnt that prove that they are more reliable? Also it takes a special person to argue RBs are more reliable than JZ's. Can anyone say f**ked oil pump drive or cracked block?
  2. You have not been defensive at all. You said that a GTR is a better car than the Toyotas and I agree with you. I think its a joke to compare engines by looking at circuit times. Anyone that argues MPH at the drags is not a good indication of an engines power potential compared to circuit lap times needs to wake up. PS, I just got some PM about fitting a JZ into a nissan. Seems there are some switched on Nissan owners out there
  3. lol at the defensive Nissan men! Nissan man: JZ never wins anthing (comparing circuit cars not engines) Toyota man: Only a 6.4 second 220mph, quarter mile pass which is fastest sport compact run ever. Got some RB data? Nissan man: Not telling you any stock ENGINE data to as to why our CARS are faster around a circuit (assuming this can only be becuase the engines are better) Nissan man: A 220 mile quarter mile pass means nothing of an engines power compared to the lap times of circuit cars which we use as defence for our RBs even when handling is the major benchmark of a circuit car, not engine power. lol its so funny you mentioned straight line speed when you should you should be looking at lap times to compare the power of engines. Suspention tires bla bla bla the whole package counts for the 220mph quater mile pass. In circuit racing bare engines race around a track so its a much better way to compare them. Have you ever thought that Nissans kill the Toyotas around a circuit (where handling counts most) becuase they are a better car and that the Toyotas kill the Nissans in straight line speed becuase the engines are better? No we can't give credit where its due! We must be biased all the way!! Cheers Dennis. Major Skyline fan AND JZ fan.
  4. I do have a 2JZ in my skyline If its true about NA's flowing more its mainly in the exhaust ports because they are kept small on the turbo engines to give awesome turbo response. The turbo on the other side was not a problem for me, even though it was my first engine conversion and my first attempt at making an exhaust. If anyone is worried about this and its the reason they don't want to fit a JZ itno their skyline PM me about it. JZ Skylines FTW I would love a R33 or 34 4 door with a 2JZ. I might do it one day. IMO, Nissan make better cars Toyota make better engines. Give credit where its due I say I am allowed to think skylines are an awesome car and JZs are an awesome engine. Combine the two for the ultimate I say
  5. Info on RB head flows is related to skylines is it not? But yeah, I agree the thread did go a bit Nissan VS toyota.
  6. So doughboy you have actually seen comparisons of the heads done by the same flowbench operator at the same lifts? I know the JZs have slightly smaller valves, and they seem to have very small exhaust ports but the intake sides look very good. My brother and I are fitting 2 subaru turbos on his 1JZ and are going to run over 20psi with just a SAFC, 2JZ injectors, fuel pump and pressure reg. Should be interesting Gona make sure AFR's are in the 12's though
  7. What do you want to run less than 14psi for?
  8. No I do not know anything about the actual twin cam RB head flows. Just that the JZ are better value for money IMO. I even posted a link to JZ headflows. But I don't know how this compares to actual tests on RBs. Saying some engine made more power does not prove much since there are too many variables. I was hoping someone tested them side by side. Great to hear that 10sec RB25 is still going. Top work from the people involved. Got a link to the thread by any chance?
  9. How many passes did it do before it blew up? tic The 1JZ is without question the best value for money engine you can buy. Costs half as much as a RB25. At the time of purchase my 2JZ cost less than a RB25 from the same importer which is why I picked it.
  10. The 1JZ has very conservative cams which would explain the drop off in high RPM performance. Just wind the boost right up and the 1JZ will take it and out power the RB25. 1JZ747 runs mid 10's in a cressida with a stock 1JZ with stock cams but high boost. It makes an insane power level but at a shockingly low RPM. So the turbo comparison doesn't really prove much. Also your link does not seem to work?
  11. The 2JZ head is also desinged by Yamaha and flows better than a 1JZ by a fair margin. There was rumors going around that the 1JZ head was better but it has been proven to be bullshit. http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=339560
  12. What flows better 1JZ and 2JZ heads VS RB25 and RB26 heads? Has this been compared before? I head somewhere that a stock 1JZ head flows better than a RB26 head. Just wondering of this is true or not.
  13. Is it just a standard turbo on a standard engine? Does anyone else habe this prob with the turbo on the same engine? Just thinking maybe your dump pipe might be causing some probs. I done work on my wastegate for my 2JZ because it is known to be much too small. http://www.supraforums.com.au/forum/showth...light=wastegate
  14. LOL. Yeah rice over function. The "high performance" twin dump might be creating backpressure in the wastegate section.
  15. um. No. Any form of boost controlers can only be used in increase boost above stock. The lowest boost you can get is having the boost signal from the turbo acting straight on the actuator. Are you sure the actuator is opening all the way up? Maybe it opened far enough on the RB20 but it isnt opeing far enougj for the RB25? You might need to bore out the wastegate.
  16. I am getting one of these with no instructions. Does anyone know how to wire it up or know where I can find more info on it?
  17. Yes, I know. That is what the WTB thread is about. Do you have any struts Spool?
  18. That all sounds very expensive! You also need a R32 steering rack and tie rods dont you, other wise the tie rods are held on with 4 threads!
  19. I have an AU R31. Which is why I want the HR31 struts with the floating hubs and 100mm bolt spacing. The GTR brakes are of no use unless I can fit them to my struts. I want the next size down from GTR brakes anyway as I want to keep my 15" wheels. So I want 280x30 rotors and callipers to suit.
  20. I need to upgrade my brakes. Please let me know if you have something that can help me, like HR31 struts etc. Cheers Dennis. [email protected]
  21. Already got one. Cheers
  22. Huh? Are you literally talking about driving until you car stops moving due to it having no fuel at all? Who in their right mind would want to do that anyway.... I don't have to read the manual to know that my car will stop moving if I run out of fuel. If I get to the bowser before the fuel runs right out, no more crap will get sucked into the engine than if it had a full tank.
  23. I hear people say this. Please explain? The pump always sucks from the bottom of the tank so any dirt would get sucked up regardless of the fuel level.
