  1. Wont be there as we have run into another small problem with the car... suprise suprise :goddam:
  2. Yet another question, Tomei 260 in/ex 9.15mm lift camshafts for RB26 should be a direct bolt in and then you just adjust the clearances? There shouldnt be any machining work required? (keeping in mind the head has already been machined to take large lift camshafts). Thanks
  3. Hi all, Hoping someone can help me out. Does anyone know the thrust bearing part numbers for the following clutches, all push type for BNR32 HKS GD Max HKS GD Pro Any information would be -extremely- appreciated. Thanks
  4. Ahh crap ok thanks for that We seem to have misplaced the thrust bearing for my clutch, and HKS Australia are useless so was hoping one of those was the part numbers. Thanks again
  5. Hi everyone, Just wondering if someone can do me a huge favour and have a look at http://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/power_...cluch_data.html and tell me what all the columns are (specifically looking to see if any of the columns is thrust bearing number). Tried to run it through Babelfish but it didnt like it. Thanks heaps!!
  6. I have seen some cars these well respected importers bring in. While majority of the time they are good condition, occasionally a few duds slip through as well. A R32 GTR given a clean bill of health and was said to be in "perfect mechanical condition" landed with blown pistons, and another GTR falling under the same description had severe drivetrain problems when it landed. While most of the time the cars are good, its inevitable that some duds will get through. You always take a gamble on importing. $29k sounds too cheap for me and I would be cautios, but if it is mechanically sound, then the new owner picked up an absolute bargain.
  7. I know a few people who have had their car transported by Kiwi and their service has been nothing short of exceptional
  8. Hey that was me and Ewen (Aurora) The guy in the VL was giving us the shits
  9. seems like alot of skyline owners work at that building nice pics
  10. Yeah im down in the dirty dirty south (in the calwell/isabella/richardson area)
  11. That would be LTSJayce you saw, he has the shmick pearl paint, mines just plain white And yeah, cars still off the road, expecting it back today or tomorrow, so will have to organise a time then to get those gear boots done
  12. Did you stop at Integra? Is my damn sump back on yet?
  13. Hey welcome to the forums... you dont happen to be Ewens/Ewens dad's friend? Hes been teling me about this car, looks good
  14. depends, they changed the bulb type between series, i think the early ones are H4 and the newer H1, or it might be the othe rway around.
  15. Substantially higher than that now You can get 400rwkw from them but you are close to pushing them tpo their absolute limits and its not usually obtainable on pump fuel. But, all in all a good list of mods with the car. I know someone locally who also bought a seriously front end damaged GTR a few years back with the intention of rebuilding it. Everyone told him it was too far gone and unrepariable, and 12 months later it was one of the best looking and performing GTR's in this area.
  16. Count me in at this stage, should get the car back this week
  17. Well the bolts on the front driveshaft sheared out and the driveshaft fell apart. So got it towed to mechanics, and while it was there was getting some new goodies installed (twin plate clutch + chromolly flywheel, new oil sump baffles, camshafts, suspension, brakes etc). When we got the oil sump off we noticed there was some internal engine 'damage'. You can read about it here --> http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=52879 But hats off to Greg from Pro Engines (http://www.proengines.com.au) who originally built the engine and is fixing the problem. If you ever need an engine rebuild, make sure you check him out, excellent work and hes a top bloke too
  18. Should be done next week
  19. Hey man... dont suppose youre the guy I met out the front of work a few weeks back (on Wiluna Street in Fyshwick, I had the white one parked out the front)
  20. Hi Greg, Just to clarify with you, I am extremely impressed and satisfied with the engine rebuild you did for me and I have mentioned this to Ed a few times now. Even after this small hiccup, all I can say is shit happens, and as you said yourself, its something you have never seen before, so we can all learn from this experience I didnt come on here trying to point fingers or direct blame onto you or anyone else, just looking to see if anyone else had experianced this problem, and if so, why it happens and how to fix it Ill be going to see Ed at 5PM this afternoon if you wanted to come along as well so you can explain in simple terms to me what went wrong
  21. Wont be down there this weekend due to unforseen engine problems (as you can read in the forced induction forum) will have to catch up with you guys another time
  22. you selling stirlo?
  23. Thanks for that Dan Just talked to the engine builder whos had a look at it, and its not actually the bottom of the piston thats hit the squirter. He says the pistons run a 5 thou clearance and when cold rattle around a bit in the cylinder, and its the side of the piston hitting the squirter. The car hasnt been started in a few weeks, and they used a screwdriver to move the piston across to one side and confirmed the side of it was hitting the squirter. Does this sound like a possibility?
  24. As said in first post, standard rods shot peened/polished
  25. Hasnt been blowing smoke but it also has been using a bit of oil lately. It hasnt snapped off right at the base, about halfway along as they stick out, e.g | ----//----- Very rough picture of what they look like, the // is where they broke (assuming the piston hit the actual squirter upright part and its snapped half way along at the weakest point). The --------- part that sticks out is thicker than the actual squirter (|). Just spoke to the mechanic and it looks like the engines going to be pulled from the car and stripped down... what started as a routine sump baffle installation
