What is the difference in pushing the traction control button up to race mode vs down to off? When I was at Nissan he indicated that pushing the button down (off) would be the one that causes any warranty issues if something went wrong while driving like that but there was no mention of pushing it up into race mode. So what happens when the traction control is in race mode and does that cause a warranty issue or is it only an issue when it is off?

When I was in the US they wanted $800 per day with a $30,000 security deposit. But then the car is only $80,000US new.

There is no excuse the law states that the driver is meant to make sure that the vehicle they are driving whether it is their own or not is currently in registration. If you get in the car and not know if it is registered then its your own fault if you get caught as you will be in a world of hurt if you kill someone in an accident and not covered by TAC.

What about this weekend

This may well be the case, what they were implying is that it is ok to modify it but if your warranty claim is directly related to the modification being the cause then they will look into it harder and not warrant the vehicle. They said that they can see exactly what happened to the vehicle via the computer so if you have a tune then reflash it back they can tell exactly when that the tune was done and removed so one is assuming that if the problem occured during the "tuned" period they may not want to honour the warranty. That is why I was told there is no point in hidding the mods as they know anyway. Changing the exhaust is no issue, they even mentioned Willall as being the best. How is that for advertising. So based on the advise I will probably only change the exhaust which I think is about all I would want out of the car anyway. I think the main and most interesting point I was making is that they will work on JDM cars which I actually found to be impressive service given everything else that has been flying around.
