  1. Final Price drop on items. Turbo's are being sold today.
  2. Thanks Paul. We also found out the O2 sensors are stuffed during the tune. Explains why my fuel ecconomy was so bad.
  3. itbmils, You need to take some timing out. By the sounds of it the tune was aiming at getting you lots of power. The problem is it can leave very little margin for changes in air quality and temperatures resulting in higher than you want knock values. The normal driving knock under light throttle / cruising might be a buggered O2 sensor. We found mine were stuffed when we were tuning mine in 'closed loop' so for the time being I have it turned off and will suffer the slightly worse fuel ecconomy, for the sake of safety. Mind you the fuel ecconomy was crap as a result anyway, so it might even improve.
  4. Big thanks to Ant. and the boys at X-speed for the tune. Nice and concervative on fuel and ignition. Boost at a pretty stable 13.8psi. thanks also to Ken and the others for the refferal
  5. I just had mine tuned today. A nice conservative de-tune to look after the 240,000kms+ motor. Even at the 13.8psi of boost it could quite easily have the fuel and ignition cranked to get 400rwhp (at one stage it was heading that way so we put a stop to that). A purfect little bit of extra power for the daily work vehicle.
  6. ***************** Price Drop ******************************* See First Post>>>
  7. Hi Joshr32, Yes they are often used as a cheap cam upgrade.
  8. Interesting. I appreciate what you are saying. Unlike most people who bolt these straight in I have upgraded the camshafts which enable higher airflow reducing the boost requirements of the turbos to make the same power.
  9. 6 x 440cc GTR injectors. Work perfectly selling due to upgrade to big sards. $400ono
  10. Thanks guys will give the x-speed guys a buzz. JiMiH, You can get them ported at my house but, the workshop is a health hazzard and the owner is a wierdo
  11. it's an excellent launch control if you are a serious drag racer.
  12. just finished installing the new turbs. I found that... *the factory manifolds need porting and port matching. *the factory dump pipes are crap, if your stuck with them they get some die grinding action too. *brute force on the seized flare bolt water lines breaks them, I even tried a blow torch to no avail. Now I've got some 700cc injectors on the way it's fast approaching tune time. I rang the boys at hyperdrive and they are snowed right under. I am happy for them but, i need a tune and since my first prefference for tuners is booked up does any one have a suggestion for another place that does datalogit power fc dyno tunes?
  13. Interestingly the new turtle wax product along the same lines uses the same active chemicals and is half the price. Anyone tried that?
  14. No worries. A fair few more guys have run as quick or quicker (sub 13). It's pretty clear that you can get mid 13's without upgrading the intercooler which saves you some money and keeps the response of the factory engine.
  15. PM sent, be down for the injectors today mate.
  16. Hi daler32, they are smaller mate, so not really an upgrade for a gtst.

  18. I just picked up a pair of turbo's built to this spec. Melv's old ones. He made over 300kw at all 4, from memory he wasn't running aftermarket cams , full boost was around 4500rpm. These turbo's are a tad larger than 2530's.
  19. My old R33 Gtst returned an easy 10L/100km. On the open road it got down into the 9L/100km.I clocked 30,000kms+ a year with mine as a 'work car'. Fairly stock with a free flowing exhaust, they are economical for performance they can deliver if tuned well. It ran low 13's too. If you don't need the room then an R33 gtst is a great choice for a hack.
  20. My old thread, on the forced induction section '13.4 a how to.....' covers a cheap way of doing it. The gtst's are pretty good from the factory you just need a couple of mods to wake them up.
